Disco is dead.

Since they declined to give any info, or press charges, I'm putting 2 bits on it being staged.

Hadn't thought of it, but you're right.  It would literally take a miracle for them to not prosecute on something like that.  Or they would have to truly give up on their crusade of being my favorite websiteing, IRL-trolling asswipes who wouldn't know reality if it bit them in the ass.

The whole group are lawyers.  I imagine they dont want the cops investigating so they can sue.  It has been what has run the "church" for years.

Westboro group members did not want to prosecute or provide information to police. They continued to protest for about 10 minutes before departing, according to police.

Yeah, a family full of lawyers who's well known for suing everyone all of a sudden doesn't want to get someone charged with a crime or help in anyway. I agree with the comments above, this sounds staged.

Rabble Rabble!

I submitted this article with a much better headline!

"at a high rate of speed,"

I've always hated this phrasing. "Rate" is (generally) a change in distance per change in time. Speed is the same farking thing.

AND LOOK

The vehicle then headed west on 18th Street

they even included a direction vector, yet they couldn't present the information correctly!

The band stated they'd donate 20 bucks to The Human Rights Campaign per protester that showed up , then when only 12 showed up they said that was "weak" and donated 1000.

Here's what SHOULD happen.... They make a show of "arresting" her for the protesters and the media and all, then when back at the station give her a cash prize and a "thanks for trying" then send her about her business.

HeartBurnKid here is quite correct, and I can confirm it.
Here is some information I found on Wikipedia, a popular internet website.

Panic! at the Disco (formerly stylized Panic at the Disco[1][2]) is an American http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RIAA_certification" title="RIAA certification">double platinum in the US. a rate is a change of something over time.

so, in that case, that would be how the speed changed over time, which is an acceleration.

one would expect that the vehicle speed was variable with its acceleration increasing as the driver was escaping.

they could have used some other wording (accelerating furiously...); but the original wording is correct.

No. No they do not support themselves from lawsuits nor have they ever.
Two years ago, I spent an afternoon researching this old wives tale as I constantly heard this over and over yet no one could provide support for their comments. (While was this 2 years ago, it does need minor updating due to Fred's death, age changes, members leaving the church, etc. but the facts remain the same.)

There is NO EVIDENCE supporting this. They won the Supreme Court case and the loser has been ordered to pay $16,500 in legal fees. Fred Phelps and his small congregation provide WBC's funding; the group neither solicits nor accepts outside donations. In addition to this income, the church makes money by winning or settling civil lawsuits involving the church. During the 1990s, the group sued Topeka multiple times for failing to provide sufficient protection during its protests. Although they lost most of their cases, WBC did win $43,000 in legal fees in 1993. According to Shirley Phelps-Roper, they also won more than $100,000 in 1995 in a lawsuit against Kansas' Funeral Picketing Act, which they claimed violated their First Amendment rights. Because the Phelps family represents WBC in court, they can put the fees they win towards supporting the church. On July 27, 2010, the city of Bellevue dropped the charges of flag desecration and contributing to the delinquency of a child, due to a federal judge declaring the flag desecration law unconstitutional. The city also paid Phelps-Roper $17,000 in a settlement agreement, in exchange for her dropping a pending lawsuit against the city.
Most articles put their travel/protest expenses at $200k a year or more. These suits they have won in no way support their expenses for the last couple of decades. I would love for someone to prove me wrong as I am genuinely curious, but I cannot find anywhere that supports the Internet "old wives tale" that they sue and win all the time.
