SmackLT: "Why isn't everybody else jogging in?"

I didn't see the game, but the announcer in that clip seemed to indicate a bunch of people were trotting off the field.

In fairness, the run probably would have scored anyways. But he could have made it difficult

Is this any worse than an outfielder making the throw to the cutoff man, when their catch was the third out of the inning? Because we see that about once a season, too.

162 games are a grind. Stuff happens.

The catcher started to leave the field as well.

Why is Cespedes wearing an oven mitt?

The way that game ended up, it didn't make much of a difference...

That was pretty selfish of Cespedes  to try and pad his stats at the expense of Adam Jones...  End of the day, mistakes happen, not that Adam doesn't deserve a little ribbing for it...

Although, I am pretty sure this one mistake will be what keeps him out of the Hall of Fame one day...

Not sure if serious.

HMS,

No, not serious.  Was making fun of the Ranger's pitcher who was biatching about someone on Toronto bunting to beat the shift the other night...

How come there are three "outs" in an "IN-ning"? Are you going out or coming in? Make up your mind, am I right?

...uh, is this mic on?

Can't watch the video on mobile, but I am guessing it is similar to what Jean Segura wears, and it is to prevent hand injuries on slides.

Figured that's what it was for but wasn't sure if he had a hand injury.

It does look like one of those giant Hulk fists that make a HULK SMASH sound.  Would be funny stealing a base and hearing something when he hits the bag.  I saw some sort of sleeve on Dee Gordon this past weekend; I think they said it was for something similar.

Yankees center fielder Brett Gardner wears one; I can tell you why base stealers wear them; I once stole 2nd and a shortstop decided to turn his ankle on me; my pinky got crushed from his steel toe; it broke into two places.

Yeah, trust me I wish I had one, and on very cold days outside; you feel that wind just go through the bones; and it will ache for hours.

As if we needed another reminder of how mind-numbingly boring baseball actually is.

Can't remember which Phillie was at the plate yesterday (maybe it was Saturday, I dunno), got to a three-ball count and tossed his bat away. Had to go get it to continue the at-bat. It happens. Hell, I've seen the home plate umpire lose count before, and they have those little things to help them keep track.

Well, I don't keep track of your posts, so I wouldn't know.  Poe's law and all that.

Related -- I had great seats to this game and everyone kept texting me because they saw me on TV. Anyone know a torrent site with MLB games, or any other way to get a full-game recording? Always cool to see yourself on TV I guess.

I was randomly watching that. It was amusing. Announcers were really nice and fair about it not really having any effect as the runner who tagged and scored would have made it anyways.

In other news Juicy Ortiz and the Sox are humiliating the Jays 14-1 in the 9th and there's still almost all the fans. So at least there's that, which is nice.

/regrets greenlit sarcastic headline about the Jays living down to expectations awhile back.

He made up for it last night against the Angels...

2 HRs, 4RBIs in the win.
