"It is not clear where the money will come from in the budget," the memo states, adding that Perry's office has said the money will come from "non critical" areas, such as health care or transportation.

Appears someone falsely believes the Guard will actually be guarding the border. Also, that there are "DHS troops".

Holy crap. I thought you were being sarcastic.

Let's take money from programs that accomplish something and put it towards a program that makes us feel tough but doesn't do anything.

The Texas - Mexico border spans 1241 miles. Working 24/7 each guy only needs to handle a little more than a mile. It's doable.

/I thought Texas seceded after the election. No not that one the one before that.

Holy shiat.  Shooting at brown kids - critical.  Roads, infrastructure and a healthy citizenry - non critical.  If we told the kids crossing the border this, they might turn around and head back on their own.

So... What exactly will the guard be doing here? I mean, it's not like they're known for their child welfare division.

/Obama should nationalize the Texas guard and order them to stay home & spend time with their families instead.

I think the teabagger fantasy is that they'll have .50 cal machine guns ready to shoot immigrant children on sight. Sadly, I'm only half joking.

And has anyone thought of one flaw in this logic: These kids came through Mexico to get to the border. In Mexico, the cartels have the Mexican Army outgunned by an incredible margin. Do they think these kids are going to be scared or deterred by some guys in green uniforms when what they'd be getting sent back to is 10 times worse?

I find it amusing that healthcare is "non critical". Because the health of your state means nothing if you can look badass kicking a bunch of children out.

Meh.  In a democracy, the people (in this case, of Texas) get what they deserve.  It must really suck for the kids that that hellhole is their point of entry.

Good. The National Guard can help process all the new immigrants, and then we can temporarily house the kids without family here already, or promptly turn them over to their stateside family members per the law Bush and a bipartisan congress signed into law.

Let's hope Perry isn't dumb enough to send the NG to the border for any other reason than to aid in this humanitarian crisis.

Ooh, allow me.

Mexico made 'a deal with the Devil', or in this case a Kenyan shaman, who bribed them to 'fast track' all these illegals here ASAP!

send the MS-13 gang-bangers, the tuberculosis and scabies-ridden ones to the WhiteWash House and let obutthole take care of his precious new voters!

From a mod: We should have a border with Mexico that looks like the Berlin wall-- and is every bit as deadly should it be crossed illegally.

At least the chaos Zero has planned for us can be semi-managed by his opposition to create some diversionary tactics!

Ugabe can do what he does best - SUCK COCK  He's got fark-all to say and do about what goes on with a state's National Guard

No. It's not too late. Watched some footage on WWII tonight. Those people (our ancestors and those abroad), once they realized what was going on, got busy with counter activities. Americans are not stupid. Americans are fed up. Americans are ARMED. The gov't knows this, which is why they keep tryingto DISARM us. America is vast. Too vast for the gov't to fool us all. Turn back the clock and take care of business, America!!!!!
Actual Weeners: Very nice and positive comment!! I hope so!

Thank you Gov. Perry. Make sure they do what they are trained for. No queer diaper changing, but military guard to force the invaders back.

NO SOCCER-BALL AND TEDDY-BEAR BONANZAS.  Let's get serious and take care of business... for a change.  Oh god, there used to be a buffet place here called Bonanza when I was super young.  shiat was soooo good.

If he goes through with this. . . he WILL BE our next potus.

A well regulated militia (...blah blah blah...) not be infringed. Time for an armed citizens' militia... WOLVERINES!

Gov. Perry can fund the National Guard via witholding the gasoline taxes the Feds demand be paid by the states. Squeeze that putrifying, knobby, incestuous DC nutsack until some kind of sense is restored.

Ever notice that the ones PUSHING/DEFENDING this invasion almost all have HISPANIC SURNAMES?

*SMH! What a waste of money and resources!!! Damm, I wished we had someone with a set of brass balls that would call this a friggin invasion and nail Obama's ass to wall over it!!! Even the blacks are opposed to this invasion, they wouldn't be screaming racism! There is no reason not to nail Obama for this! Other than political!!!

Yeup.... the stuff of nightmares! I don't see how anyone can think open borders is a good idea! Those people do not live in the real world... the diseases alone is enough reason to keep them out! Then you add the gang bangers and Muslim Jihadist into the mix... mind boggling how some are so wrapped up in their "enlightenment" and looking for world peace they cannot see the real dangers are still among us. Just because you do not identify your enemy, does not mean he is not still your enemy! I'm heading to bed, Dawg. I'll see ya' tomorrow. *hugs.

Well, the National Guard might be able to help distribute food and water, and maybe build some shelters...

But I don't think that's what he thinks that they'll be doing. Or rather, it's not what he thinks that the public will think that they're doing. Better to be seen doing something, than doing something useful...

There was once a time that putting out a memo clearly stating that the well being of one's constituents was political suicide, fodder for the other side to crucify.

Now it's just SOP. GOP says/does something terrible, get re-elected. The seats don't even waver, no matter who is sitting in them.

This is a big deal. Well known separatist Vladimir Perry has to decide whether to appear shirtless or don his familiar Brokeback Mountain jacket.

And any thing could happen, if there are rocket launchers, anti aircraft gadgets or just lots of trucks and 20-year-olds involved. Luckily the money will come from (after the new gift of $1.4M a week to the state police) education, health or transportation coffers, not anything that's really necessary during an undeclared war on children.

Private prisons are hurting with all the marijuana convictions dropping, so, with some international promotion, they were able to create a new class of guests. Perry just wants the stockholders to have a good year in these trying times.

The GOP have done an amazing job of making the politically active in their strongholds believe that electing any Democrat will lead to the end of (White) America as we know it. To them, running as a Democrat is akin to wearing a big sign around your neck saying "I love Satan."

This allows total retards to run and win as GOP members because it then degenerates into who can be more 'conservative' and 'godly'.

The National Guard can't do anything except stand around looking intimidating. They can't stop, question, or arrest anyone. I guess they assume just being there will dissuade people from crossing illegally. Maybe, maybe not.
