Critics by and large hate horror movies anyway.

Problem is, the first one grossed more than $80 million on a $3 million budget. It was so profitable, that Lions Gate is playing with the house's money. It looks like The Purge is being set up to replace the Saw movies. You can expect at least 2 more sequels.

I strongly recommend Begin Again if it's playing in your town.

Purge 2 is great if you can overlook the film's flat-on-its-face dumb premise.

Sex Tape is thoroughly forgettable.

Don't know Planes 2. Can't vouge for it.

Yeah the electric boogaloo thing is somewhat played but people still think it's clever.

I thought it was funny when we were gearing up for Iraq in 2003.

I sincerely think that the whole mentality behind the Purge universe is wrong.

If we had a nation where one night a year all crimes were legal would result in massive amounts of dead would-be Purgers caused by communities united to defend themselves and each other.

Does that mean that the Cars/Planes franchise will finally die?

Can't point to any specifics, but those films have struck me as exceptionally unintelligent compared to everything else my daughter and her friends have watched from the last decade.

The 'persecuted christian' mentality ensures that there will always be a niche market for this self-righteous bullshiat.

While admittedly the concept of the purge is dumb and doesn't make sense when you put any thought into it, I thought Anarchy was an entertaining for a summer popcorn movie. If they ever made another movie, Frank Grillo would be great as Punisher. I realize he was already in Cap 2.

Yup. He's Crossbones in the MCU now.

Also, Thomas Jane is the one, true Punisher. Not his fault the script sucked the sweat off a dead man's balls.

It's one of my fonder hopes that they incorporate Thomas Jane's Punisher into the Avengers' universe.

I saw War Zone, and it was a much better Punisher movie overall. It had the right tone and the right amount of over-the-top-ness needed for the character. Ray Stevens though...he was okay. Also, Ray has the Volstag gig now for the Thor series, and he's doing fantastic in those.

Yeah I skip over the tired headlines for the most part, once and awhile they can "reinvent" them and make them funny.

THIS IS NOT ONE OF THEM. It was an obvious plea for a green

Hear, hear. Ray Stevenson was badass as Frank Castle in Punisher: War Zone. It was a "Punisher: MAX graphic novel come to life and I enjoyed every farking minute of it. Pity that almost no one else did, but what can you do? Some anti-heroes just don't translate well on the big screen.

Meh, it was ok. Despite the fact that much of the movie sucked balls, I prefer Dolph Lundgren as the Punisher. He seemed more like the Punisher I remembered from the late late 70s early 80s comics I'd read. A badass, angry as fark vigilante killer.

The wife wants me to go and see it this week. I am going to go to "apes" and wait an hour for her to get done.

I would rather cut parts off myself then see that, and it is just an opinion based on friends and trailers.

Didn't see either so I shouldn't comment but I will anyway. Sex Tape looks like a Seth Rogan movie that was too lame for Seth Rogan to show up for and I can't stand Melissa McCarthy. Since the ads for comedies usually feature the funniest jokes and since nothing was funny in the ads, not a good sign.

It was also probably Travolta who had them shoot it in Tampa/Clearwater, so he could hop over to the Scientology mother ship. Of course that also meant I got to be an extra. Yes, you can touch me.
