Hey, as long as they are entertaining and well crafted, I don't mind them. Iron Man 3 was pretty bad but Captain America 2 was great. We'll see about Guardians I suppose

As long as the quality remains high, people won't get tired.

Unless things change a LOT, it's already 'shut up, and take my money' without even announcing titles.

Thor 3: Ragnarok should be one of them.

Yes but it's the comic book theme that's becoming tiresome. That's the point.

Yeah, I still think DC's 7 movies in 2 years are going to kill the golden goose.

Tiresome to whom?  If the premise isn't interesting, then don't pay to watch it.

5 years is not a long time to plan cross-over movies when it can take 2-3 years from concept to finished product to make one.

Certainly not tiresome to me.  They seem more imaginative and fun than just about anything else.

Why stop making movies? Disney is raking in huge profits. That's what's important. I personally want to see some lesser characters on screen. Luke Cage as an urban action film would rock.

Agree, sub-genre.  Westerns, spy films, kung-fu, vigilantism...the popularity of those sub-genres all had their moment in the sun.  They never completely died out but they're no where near as ubiquitous across all media today as they used to be.  You know a sub-genre is reaching saturation when the parodies come out, and all the TV networks start creating multiple series to cash in before interests wane.  That would be right about now for super-heroes (and vampires) but Marvel has a built-in fan base across 2-3 generations so this one is lasting pretty long.

Here is the interesting thing about the Marvel universe : It is basically the biggest mini-series ever. Do we get tired of watching a favorite tv show that does the same formula week after week? Of course we dont. I think the idea of peoples getting tired of it is 20th century, retrograde mindset.

Doctor Strange one of the few Marvel heros that needs a full film to tell his backstory. Which means no twenty something kid. He was a successful surgeon before losing ability to do surgery. He needs to be forty at least. The girlfriend should be Kristen Shaal

Sammy and Denzel are to old. Cast a no name actor. Put him in the traditional outfit. Jeans and Gold coloured shirt. A silver headband holding back a rocking geri curl. Give the movie the full blackopation treatment.

People saying that there's too many comic movies are silly.  There's, what, 5 or 6 of these a year at most?  This year we've got Guardians of the Galaxy, Spider-Man, Captain America, X-Men...Only 4.  Next year a similar number.  Aren't there more romantic comedies then that coming out a month?  Action movies?  Oscar bait?  Indie dramas?

People love comic book movies and they rarely are bad now that studios take them seriously.  The closest thing to a 'bad' movie they get this year is Spider-Man, and even that is leagues above some of the crap that's coming out (Maleficient, Transformers 4, etc.)

Luke Cage was created when blaxpoitation, urban anarchy and vigilante films were at their height in the 70s.  The NYC where he originated no longer exists. He was basically Shaft..with super powers. Can ya dig it? It would take a major reworking to retrofit him into the 21st century.  It's the same reason why multiple attempts to introduce the Punisher have failed.  Iron Fist would have the same problem.

I'm certainly not sick of comic book movies, especially with the general high quality of the Marvel movies. Even their weakest movie is still better than the majority of other comic book movies. Plus, I love how they are carefully crafting their universe, especially how it connects with the television show. (Which started off as so-so but then got really, really good towards the end. So I'm glad I stuck around.) And I can't wait for Guardians of the Galaxy. There is a seat at the Alamo Drafthouse with my name on it.

X-men DoFP, of course, was exactly the movie I was hoping it would be. (Apology accepted, Mr. Singer.) And I'm even looking forward to the next one. So I'm certainly not getting tired of these movies. I'm even looking forward to Batman v. Superman because I really enjoyed Man of Steel.

Just make it a 70s period piece.  That would be pretty awesome.  Or if you need urban anarchy, just move him to Chicago or Detroit.

They seem to be doing a really good job with the Ultimate Spiderman cartoon for both these characters. I like what they're doing with them. I think making them young, and casting relative unknowns, will help for a live action movie.

During the heyday of the western there were probably 500 westerns a year. This went on for 40 years. I think we'llOK.e ok

But that's like saying fully formed shiat is better than diarrhea.

I don't understand what happened. Iron man is the best superhero origin movie and likely tied for first with captain America 2, and then turned to immediate shiat.

Then again, Thor 2 was also crap and I'm not that excited about avengers 2 with stark completely reversing his decision behind the scenes to make the big bad, so maybe capt 2 just hit that magic spot.

No wait, I know how they did it. They didn't spend two hours out of the farking suit or shiatty romances. It was captain America, falcon, and black widow kicking ass and taking names from start to finish.

How about in modern day NYC, Hell's Kitchen area I believe, along with Iron Fist, Daredevil and Jessica Jones in separate series on Netfix, teaming up as the Defenders, and being part of the MCU, coming out next year.   Link to Daredevil, which furthest along in production.  Vicent D'Onofrio as Kingpin should be awesome!
