So I guess Vernon, Florida will remain the Citizen Kane of eccentric Floridian documentaries.

Fta: Born in Prague, Czech Republic, Petra has a wealth of international experience working in film, television and commercials both in Europe and USA. She has worked on such films as HOSTEL & HOSTEL 2, ALIEN VS PREDATOR, DOOM and WANTED.

So she was someone's coffee beyotch on a handful of B movies?

Excellent! A woman loving a bridge, an albino baby cobra and a full moon every day. The inexhaustible brain scat of Floriduh.

Sounds about right. Her credits on the recognizable films are all second-second assistant director (coffee biatch) or third assistant director (dog walker)

I thought they already did a study as to why Florida is so "weird" and, from what I recall, the conclusion is that it isn't necessarily weirder than any other state but instead Florida has very transparent public information laws resulting in a lot more material for news stories.

Everyone starts out low on the totem pole. Good for her for trying to do her own project.

This project deserves better actors.

"Detangling the web of batshiat" is a great line that could really pop in the hands of someone who isn't terrible.

The part of Professor Klich is appealing to me, as a faux international  bon vivant and raconteur, fully ready to hit on grad students.  I even own an ascot I could wear for the role.  The only problem is that I don't live anywhere near the state.

I don't know about Lost or Twin Peaks.  I do see the potential for Fargo South, however.

I thought the documentary Farkers wanted was the new reality show about weird fetishes. I know some of you pillow humpers would like it

Nice to see the V2 firing at White Sands, New Mexico (800 mi east of LA) which is quite likely a small, independent principality of the Kingdom of Florida.

So a bad movie by flaky producers about a batshiat insane state.

If done right, it could be awesome--but it won't be done right.

Florida isn't necessarily weirder. New England? These states have some weird sh*t. From militias, half baked cults, ancient digs, odd mystery sites, lost colonies, lost tribes, ghosts of every imaginable sighting, monster sightings, crackpot odd mansions, grave sites of all manner of weirdness, roadside attractions, and in Maine, lobster ice cream, which alone should put Maine on just about anyone's Weirdometer. Heck, even a few Triangles of Terror if you wonder about missing persons and UFO sightings. Florida gets press, because their crackpots tend to talk a lot, and as mentioned, somewhat transparent public information laws. Maine? People tend to keep to themselves, and weird...that's fairly normal when you consider how many folks spend months cooped up at home, or out in the woods for long stretches, and most folks figure it's just polite to NOT blab about it to the press all the time. Vermont? Some weird ass sh*t goes on, and again, see the previous about folks simply not blabbing about it to the news all the time. Serial killers, cults, odd religions, creature sightings, UFOs, the state has a bunch of oddness.

Pretty much every state does. America is an odd, odd, odd place...

There's, like, 26 Hemingway imposers, among hundreds of tourists with cameras, with a good excuse to run wild in the streets, then bar-hopping back to the car. As If your local Chamber of Commerce ain't lookin' for exactly this.

Like I said in the other thread, Florida has lots of old people.  This attracts lots of scammers.  They also have laws protecting scammers, for example their home can not be seized.  Add onto this all the tourists, Latino immigrants, southern rednecks, and it's just a stew of clusterfarkedness.  Nobody wanted the place before it was developed for old people and tourists.
