Will mud help?

Mud is Primus' "biggest" song?

Would not have guessed that...

Yeah, I would have guessed John The Fisherman. Even if it wasn't that big the first time around, it probably picked up another generation of fans due to Guitar Hero.

Well, that sucks. Tim Alexander is one of the better drummers out there. Hi work on the first three Primus albums is very tasty.

Or even Jerry Was a Racecar Driver... that video was on all the time for a spell.  Or Wynona's Big Brown Beaver.... which was nominated for a Grammy of some kind.

Damn I heard Tim was playing with Les again but I didn't know he had rejoined Primus. That's awesome. Hope recovers good and quick.

IMHO, he's one of the best drummers ever. I've seen him play live many times, and he's amazing.

I'd say the South Park theme was their biggest song.

Primus has always done something that I don't think any band ever did, at least not nearly as well as they did: they combined musical virtuosity with a wicked sense of humor.  So the music is always fun and never turns into the tiresome wank-off prog rock often can/

/has no idea how anyone got through a full ELP concert

You'd think, but in Austin it kinda sucked. It was obvious they weren't comfortable playing a large venue, none of the old hippies who listen to Rush in Austin wanted to see them, so they were playing to a sparse crowd and the sound echoed weirdly off the empty seats. Les was kinda ticked about the turnout, too. My friends and I were huge fans of both bands, but it was a massive disappointment.

I saw Primus when I was 15 years old. The opening act was... P.O.D. The couple sitting in front of me were very enthusiastic about P.O.D. When they were done, the couple left, and never returned for Primus. I was like, wtf, man.

Thank you. That line caused me great consternation trying to figure out if I was having a stroke.

Loved the first few albums.
Mr. Alexander is seriously underrated.

Good news: you still have more arms then the drummer from Def Leopard.

Saw them on that tour in San Diego...managed to get on the rail right in front of Les for the whole set...my body & my ears took a massive beating that night, but it was farking COOL as shiat.

NO disrespect at all for Tim Alexander, but I was late to Primus fandom, coming on board when Jay Lane was back with them.  Thought he still was, until I just looked and saw that Tim is back.  Kinda disappointed to see that, as I thought Lane was stellar and really drove things.  Best of luck to Tim.

I saw that tour in madison square garden.  Yes, the old rush hippies weren't into it (except when the did the YYZ intro to Jon The Fisherman; they were into that) but Primus was still good at that show.

/also saw primus open for Anthrax and Public Enemy

Seen Primus 6 times, Frog brigade 3 times, and Oysterhead twice. I met Les a few times, and Tim once after a Frog show. I was talking to Enor about Bonnaroo, 2 days after they played there, and Tim stumbled out, and blurted out "do you want this drum stick?" I didn't want to be rude because Enor was in the middle of a sentence, so I ignored him. He waited until Enor finished talking and then said "do you want it, or not?" Like an impatient child. I said "Sure, thanks" and he said "I am very sorry, but I have to wash this farking paint off my body" and ran off to the bus. Enor watched him for a moment, and then told me "he's been asking me to paint myself for the shows, but I lied and told him it made my skin break out". Still have the monogrammed stick. csb? /Get well drummer man!

What the hell? All this talk about primus and no one mentioned 'laquer head'?

I would have though Winona's big brown beaver or jerry was a race car driver. I guess mud played a lot on MTV's alternanation and beavis and butthead though.

Yup, the Roll the Bones tour, but we got Eric Johnson as the opener (Rosemont Horizon).

/Made up for it in 1994 in St. Louis at the Counterparts tour

I would have guessed it was Wynonna's Big Brown Beaver. Either way, I prefer Tommy the Cat.

At least it wasn't fatal, which would have left him Resting Bones.
