UNC_Samurai: Wow, there's all sorts of trading carbon between former champions today.

Yeah. & bits are flying off Alonso's crate now.
Will there be anything left of the Ferraris at the end?

King Something: I'd like to watch it, but First Row isn't working.

First Row is useless anymore. Absolutely useless.

P20 to P2.  Not a bad afternoons work if it holds together.

I see NBC/Hobbs/Machett don't have the balls to mention that the track that might replace Monza is owned by Ferrari.

2014-07-20 08:41:00 AM
Now the announcers are complaining about fuel mileage racing, even though racing has always been about fuel mileage at every level.

Yeah. Heard him on the team radio say something about his "pooer"

For the love of God, CNBC, get another goddamn commercial. At this point, I'm going to actively tell people not to watch your shiatty Shark Tank spinoff.

LOL! Hamilton's wing got damaged! That's karma for you!

2014-07-20 08:47:13 AM
It's about time Lewis took some damage, he's been inflicting it all race.

Adolf Oliver Nipples: Now the announcers are complaining about fuel mileage racing, even though racing has always been about fuel mileage at every level.

I do think F1 lost a significant strategy element when they took away fueling from pit stops and moved to managing fuel consumption by switches alone.  We no longer have short pitting and all pit stops are 2-3 second tire changes only. I understand the safety element involved but most racing series manage to handle fueling safely.

It'll return once its absence gives Ferrari enough of a problem for them to whine about it to the FIA.

Nce to see the Brits don't have a monopoly on silly hats.

Hamilton's still faster than anyone else even with a smashed up front wing

2014-07-20 08:56:56 AM
Plenty of good seats still available.

2014-07-20 08:58:06 AM
Felipe is starting to sound like Marco Andretti. I wish that weren't true because I like him as a driver.

"Lewis, you broke the wing, you'll have to live with it."

good_2_go: "Lewis, you broke the wing, you'll have to live with it."

It's OK. All his complaining about how Rosberg gets faster stops is going to pay off this week. Rosberg will be held for a few seconds for reasons so Hamilton can get the wing replaced.

From the BBC earlier
"The German Grand Prix organisers had a bright idea to try to stimulate slow ticket sales ahead of this race. They offered fans 10 euros off a ticket for every goal Germany scored in their World Cup semi-final against Brazil. One can only imagine how the person who came up with that idea was feeling as those seven goals flooded in that night in Belo Horizonte. Yet the prospect of 70 euros off a ticket has not led to a flood of sales.

2014-07-20 09:06:28 AM
Huh, I'll be damned. No wing change.

That's because they're STILL expensive. Thanks, Bernie. I'll watch the TV broadcast because that's a done deal, but I won't line his pockets with my money by going to a race.

Someone should tell Sutil that you only get to do doughnuts if you win.

*kicks his TiVo*

For some reason, the guide has the 4:30am broadcast as a repeat, so it is only going to record the replay.  Sounds like there was some fun at the start I'll want to watch.

Watching live now, because who cares about spoilers when the winner is known after qualifying.

2014-07-20 09:30:58 AM
The announcers refuse to acknowledge that Bernie's outrageous track fees and attendant high ticket prices explain the empty stands. They simply don't know why people don;t want to come to the race!
