Damn you east coasters (and Europeans)..!  The race is live at 4:30am here in Los Angeles, so it'll be the DVR for me... and a total social media blackout.

In addition to 2 IndyCar races tomorrow, Tour De France, and so much other stuff.

Glad NASCAR had an off week!

There are far more important thing to talk about here, F1 fans.

Why, in three months time, are we still supporting Vladimir Putin and his cronies with an F1 race after MH17? Why has this travesty not been canceled now we know that the rebels Putin armed shot down a passenger jet packed with innocent civilians, and with Russian military assistance to boot?

It's time to boycott the Russian Grand Prix:

Remember you said that. There is noting worse than people coming in to threads about a current event and then complaining about spoilers. I'm sure you're not that guy, but there are lots like that.

So, Rosberg earns the pole, Lewis crashes out in Q1. But that's impossible, Vegas says Hamilton will win and the Fark cognoscenti tells me that Hamilton is better!

Also, repave the woods, bring back the old Hockenheimring, and hang Bernie and Hermann Tilke.

Oh, I know. I'm just pouty because if I want to see the race live I will have to overdose on Red Bull (or "Toro Rosso" for my Italian friends), and then call the paramedics it take me to the emergency room for a rapid heartbeat.

Just rare when I can participate live and not be a vampire.

Bernie has no moral compass. I already hated him and now I can just pile more on my justification.

I just read that Hamilton has had a new gearbox fitted & now starts 20th.
He's gonna need one heck of a drive to get any sniff of points today.

With how fast those Mercedes are I don't think it will be tough for him to get into the top 5. That being said I would love to see Williams win the race but not likely. I wouldn't bet against Nico barring any malfunctions.

Its not his job to boycot anything, that's down to the UN, or other state actors.

Hamilton looks like a bigger douchebag than Justin Bieber.

Why does Bernie always touch people he talking to? If he touched me I would probably recoil in disgust after having the walking muppet corpse steal some of my life force.

Not a bigger douchebag than bieber, but about as bad as Kaepernick

Does F1 rely much on previously-laid-down rubber to improve grip with the cars like some other series, and if so will the rain after qualifying screw with teams' setups (more than the change in temperature that they've already been talking about)?

2014-07-20 07:55:17 AM
Huh, they're going to run two Indy races in one day? Nice.

I think the rain will mainly have an influence on what tyres are chosen.

2014-07-20 07:58:16 AM
Hobbs just picked Lewis Hamilton from P20. It would take nothing short of a miracle for that to happen, and if it does I'll never doubt again, I'll just mutter bitterly about fixes, justice, and Bernie Ecclestone.

2014-07-20 07:58:28 AM
chances of disaster maldonado taking out hamilton in the first lap? XD

You don't want to pick up the marbles until the end of the race, when you want to grab every ounce possible to make sure you meet minimum weight. During the race everyone tries to avoid "dirty" spots unless they're right on the line through a turn.

Not his personality mind you, but his looks. Those huge diamond earstuds, and the douchebeard.

F1 on TV, NASCAR Euro Series streaming.  Might end up with a neck crick but it should be worth it.

2014-07-20 08:02:12 AM
Lotus is picking up Disaster's contract for 2015? Hahahahaha!!!

2014-07-20 08:03:08 AM
It's fun to dump on Bernie, and if there's any justice in this world he'll spend the rest of his life in prison, but let's remember the man made sure that Rupert Murdoch didn't get his claws into the sport.

2014-07-20 08:03:53 AM
Holy shiat Felipe.

2014-07-20 08:03:57 AM
woah!!! that's gotta be a red flag

2014-07-20 08:04:08 AM
CLOWNSHOES AT THE START! Massa and Magnusson!

2014-07-20 08:04:14 AM
Well that was a bit nasty

2014-07-20 08:04:19 AM
Massa gets flipped over... that's twice in a row he's been taken out at the start. Terrible luck.

2014-07-20 08:04:19 AM
As, so Magnusson and Massa are IndyCar fans.  They didn't get their dose of clownshoes yesterday, so they made up for it today.

2014-07-20 08:04:45 AM
Mass cannot catch a farkin' break.

2014-07-20 08:04:50 AM
FARK MASSA!!!!
And he's walking. Nice.

Wait, no, who was it that got taken out by Kimi last week?

I cant' believe that McLaren doesn't even seem to be badly hurt.  O_o

The cockpit cam view was awesome.
Glad he's okay though

Instead a race team director manipulated himself into becoming one of the most powerful men in motorsport. I think I would rather take my chances with Murdoch.

Well, Massa kinda got what he deserved. He chopped down hard on Magnusson.

2014-07-20 08:09:45 AM
Hamilton gets past Maldonado, should be safe for the remainder.

2014-07-20 08:12:03 AM
"Just spitting very lightly"

2014-07-20 08:14:43 AM
i hope alonso's car got damaged when he bumped sutil to the side

2014-07-20 08:17:00 AM
Kvyat and Sutil bump uglies.

2014-07-20 08:17:24 AM
and Checo Perez knocks out the russian.

2014-07-20 08:19:22 AM
Sergio, not Sutil.

2014-07-20 08:21:28 AM
BBC says Kimi was caught sleeping. Not sure if serious, because Kimi.

2014-07-20 08:22:31 AM
TSN goes side by side just in time for more bumper cars.

2014-07-20 08:22:48 AM
Did something fly off Kimi's car just then?

2014-07-20 08:23:08 AM
That was a real douche move from Hamilton.

2014-07-20 08:23:22 AM
And Hamilton damages one of Kimi's wings.

2014-07-20 08:24:03 AM

Pista: Did something fly off Kimi's car just then?

Yeah, the front-wing endplate. No investigation, of course, because Lewis.

2014-07-20 08:25:30 AM
So, the attitude amoung drivers today seems to be, "fark it, I'm not paying for it anyways?"

2014-07-20 08:25:56 AM
Wow, there's all sorts of trading carbon between former champions today.

2014-07-20 08:26:31 AM
I'd like to watch it, but First Row isn't working.
