I hope the authorities can keep it from "every happening again" also.

Crap, six sentences in four paragraphs.  Outstanding editing job, Scottie.

Sinowitz is glad the light is fixed but she wants more to be done to make sure all the street lights are in proper condition to prevent something like this from every happening again.

Meanwhile, airliner shot down in Ukraine hundreds confirmed dead and this just coming in from our reporter in Gaza; more men and women and children die in continuing Israeli "Operation shiatkicker"

Annnd right after the break we will talk to the director of streetlightings secretary to see what is being done to stop this horrible menace of rogue streetlights attacking innocent civilians
Now this brief message from our sponsor

Whatever, it's local news. Not like they paid a copy editor or anything.

Also note what site you're on. You have the power to stop your righteous outrage from every occurring again. On the internet anyway.

"CLAYTON, Mo. - A woman who works in downtown Clayton- went on her break and ended up in stitches."

There has to be a better way to phrase that, unless it was intentionally a terrible pun.

When accessing only the text report on my phone, I had problems with the ENTIRE report.

A woman who works in downtown Clayton- went on her break and ended up in stitches.
She was told a really good joke?

A large street light fell on her and left her bleeding in the street.
Left her?  The light ran off?  Hit and run?

Clayton police say the street light fell on 59-year-old Mary Ann Sinowitz Monday afternoon just after a storm moved through the area.
Rain related accident?

They believe the incident is weather related.
I KNEW it was a rain related accident!  Hydroplaning often ends with a crash.

Clayton's director of public works said there were no reports of the street light falling before.
I don't believe this was the first time this ever happened.  Was the the first time it was ever reported?

Sinowitz is glad the light is fixed but she wants more to be done to make sure all the street lights are in proper condition to prevent something like this from every happening again.
Alright.  You guys now officially have my full undivided attention.  There's so much more I want to know.  First, exactly HOW do they plan to make sure that all the street lights are in proper...
Oh you're done!  It's over?  That's it?

FAIL!!!

At least Adobe Flash didn't put a box up in front of the video. how did it fall without tearing off the wiring? Shouldn't the wires have held it on? Don't walk under street lights that aren't lit, for safety.

Funny.. downtown Clayton is a nice business district, and resembles NYC more than any other part of the St. Louis area, including the parking meters and overpriced parking garages everywhere.  You'd think that would be the part of town who could best afford to keep their street lights up.
