Google is not hiding the fact that they are an advertising company.
Google is not hiding the fact that they read your email, track everything you look at on the web, track every wifi network you ever connect to, track every where you go and track everyone you know through your contacts so they can sell your data to anyone who wants it.
Why the fake outrage all of a sudden?

I work for a utility and we use streetview all the time to plan our projects. It's very handy to see exactly where a manhole is and what the impact to traffic will be when we need to access it.
