FINALLY found the song with Amanda Palmer in it... and now have the first thing with Amanda Palmer in it that will not make it onto my iPod.  Frown.  Oddly, her voice sounds far more like Kate Pierson of the B-52's than Kim Deal. Which makes sense since Amanda's voice is actually closer to Kate's than Kim's. (Not that I ever compared them before, it just seems obvious now).

I don't know if it's Pop Crush's site that's causing the problem, but on my regular browser (FF 30.0) the video kept getting out of synch and it wouldn't play at all on IE 11. Ended up having to listen it in on my old XP laptop. Didn't have any problems with the other videos on this album, though.

Not a bad video, but so far I like "Foil" (parody of "Royals") best.

Foil, Word Crimes, and The Sports Song. This one, meh.

I liked Tacky more than Sports Song.  Handy and this one were meh to me.  But I can handle some meh Weird Al.

Maybe that's the way it's supposed to do. It's just Weird Al's way of trolling us, which would be genius! First world problems lol

Word Crimes
Foil/Tacky
Sports Song
Handy
First World Problems

That's my order so far.  I like the song "Tacky" better but the video for "Foil" is just incredible.

\and while I didn't have trouble loading the video, if he really did set it up so it'd load slowly...damn.  Just damn.

His worst song so far has still been good. My personal order would be:

Handy
Tacky
Foil
Sports Song
First World Problems
Word Crimes

But they're all really clever... I like them down to the last one. Some of the original versions that he's lampooning are really dumb songs with a catchy hook hook. The magic of Weird Al is that he sometimes replaces the dumb parts with clever parts and leaves the hooks, making a song you wouldn't normally listen to (or a secret guilty pleasure) something you can listen to without feeling guilty.

Didn't care for this song or Handy, maybe it was the video's. Have had word crimes stuck in my head for days.

I'm not too fond of "Handy" myself, but I liked it better than Iggy Azalea's "Fancy".

It's not hard to like *anything* better than Fancy. White Aussie girl rapping like she's straight outta Compton and Watts back in the 80's *facepalm*

For me, I liked 'Handy' and  the best part about it was Al dressed up as Schneider from 'One Day At A Time'. It's a good in-joke for us old fogeys.

I just realized that Al missed a prime opportunity to stick Emo Phillips in this video as his character from UHF, and now I'm all depressed.

Actually, I was only trying to call myself old with the 'us' remark :)

Wolf892: I loved Weird Al, and I'm still a fan, but I think he peaked with "Amish Paradise." That one was genius. Also, with Youtube he's up against some really tough competition. I think "Key of Awesome" has made a few really great parodies as well as many others.
Al's lucky he did it first before the internet.

Has anyone done it before Al?  Seems like parodies, and nerd rock looks to him as an innovator.  Of course we had comedy singers like Ray Stevens predating Al, but I don't think any of them did parodies or funky polkas.

There were parody singers before Al, and after, but few did it as well or as publicly. His ALTv days in early MTV helped with that, as well as his high value targets and really good original songs. The fact that people like Michael Jackson not only allowed him to use their songs but encouraged it helped I think.

I think the fact that his songs were perfectly clean and appropriate for all ages helps too. It isn't just dick jokes and bad puns all the time.

This is a key point. He is an act that kids can watch and they get hooked. But, I think you are also harsh. I thought White and Nerdy was quite good. But I think the reason he is lasting is because he is generally more creative than other acts. He is doing new material after 30 years in the biz. Each album has a couple of decent songs, not just one. He also uses top musicians and production values. His stuff looks and sounds good. It doesn't look like it is done with an app.
A bad Weird Al parody is often better than 80% of the other satirists good parodies.
