(Fox Sports)   Being the last doubleheader of the season and with a month of racing left to go, what kind of clownshoes are we going to see this week, and can we get a decent standing start this time? It's Race #1 of the Honda Indy Toronto (3:00PM EST, NBCSN)   (foxsports.com) divider line 241

**post to keep thread on time instead of pushed off**

I expect clownshoes on start and a DNF for Sato because I happen to like him (but I like AJ the Foyt's reactions even more)

Does this track have many passing zones?

If Aleshin takes out Sato again I expect Super Tex to smother that little commie in BBQ sauce and eat him slowly.

Oh... And rumor has it Alfa Romeo will be coming back to Indy next year with the Cosworth engine. That shiat makes me moist.

fredzilla: Does this track have many passing zones?

Track description from Indycar.com:

The 11-turn, 1.75-mile circuit, which offers great views of downtown Toronto, is tight and has led to cars attempting to squeeze past each other in turns. Many times, only one makes it out unscathed. A long frontstretch leading into the Turn 1 Princes Gate, a hard right-hander, is a great place for overtaking.

The backstretch also has a decent passing zone at the end of it, though that's the place where egos tend to overpower common sense as well.

The shoes are large, the noses are squeaky, this is gonna be fun!

If you're not sitting right at the finish line, what's the point of attending a race like this? You see cars go by every now and then. For what, four hours? WTF?  Even if you're sitting at the finish line, only the last three seconds of the race are interesting.

And what's the point of posting a whine in a thread I statedly have no interest in? It's like I'm an idiot or something.

I see you've never been to a road/street race.

And if anyone knows of a stream, it would be greatly appreciated as 'the man' is keeping me down today.

Hello all! Borrowing a few kilobytes from my employer to check in here before heading to pitlane. Looks like we might be in for a wet race today; hopefully we can keep our nose clean at the start and work the strategy from there. The last time we ran a wet race turned out OK for us. :)

Enjoy, and see you guys tomorrow!

I see sprint cars running on a short track in the only feed I can find. Langley Speedway is what the wall says. Ah, and a sound track of bad 70s butt rock.

I went to this race back in '97 and sat in the stands at the sweeper before the back stretch, there is a lot of passing there.

Howdy everyone, I couldn't see that this thread existed because of the FS1 tag.  Anyway: The guy that interviewed Pagenaud after he crashed during the last lap of qualifying gave Simon a hand jesture that was questionable.

My stream of winged sprints running a random short track died. I thought it might switch over as we got closer to green. Went hunting for another stream and found the GP2 race in Germany with some very excited Chinese commentators. Then... that one died. Radio and race control it is. At least I get to watch tomorrow.

You rock.

Not that anyone gives a shiat, but the World Superbike races last week had some serious clown shoes. Three red flags and one yellow.

Alright, predictions?

What lap do we have Satout? Will Aleshin be involved?
How will Power entertain us today?
On a scale of 1-10, what will Helio's Mania be at the end of the race?
How will Kanaan be denied victory today? How will he express his subsequent dour mood?

How will Kanaan be denied victory today? How will he express his subsequent dour mood? He'll be re-tired

That's true, the only race I've ever attended was a drag race 30 years ago. I was on acid so I may not have had as much fun as I thought I was having.
