Hey folks. Cyclometh here- some of you have probably caught my shows on Split Infinity before. This time it's a bit more serious as my fellow DJ, Lou "Louie Louie" Beaver, is in stage 4b lung cancer. He was diagnosed last year out of the blue- he never smoked a day in his life, and this was totally unexpected. He fought it hard and pushed it into remission, and after he was told he'd be dead, he was playing baseball again.

However, last month it came out of remission with a vengeance. He's now in stage 4b, it's terminal and while he's still fighting it, it's now about helping him be comfortable and helping his family. He's been out of work for some time, a victim of the economy, and has no health insurance.

Lou is a great guy and a good friend. The Split Infinity Radio family is doing a 2-day weekend music and gaming marathon, livestreaming plenty of silliness, raffling off prizes and generally making fools of ourselves to help raise money for Louie. I'm going to be kicking the event off with a four-hour session of me playing World of Warcraft, for the very first time ever. I've never played it before and have no clue about the game other than that it's an MMO (and I have played a bunch of them, just not this one).

So there's certainly some entertainment value in it. And if you have a chance to pop over to Louie's GoFundMe page and donate something, both me and the entire SI Radio family would appreciate it.

Join us if you can, and maybe hop in our IRC channel to say hello (details for accessing the chat are on the SI Radio homepage at siradio.fm).

Thanks for reading and I hope you're having a good day!

Hey, is the WoW event tonight or tomorrow night? It says July 18th in the link, but July 19th in the headline. Want to make sure this goes live at the right time.

Cyclometh, have heard of you but not Lou nor Split Infinity.. Spouse Plumbicon & I used to jock/read news on broadcast FM radio A Lifetime Ago.  We'll See about IRC ch via SIRadio homepg.  Can promise at least pittance via Lou's GFM pg. Done there for others too lately.
Hope Lou can at least feel  a tad better, if he's feelin' poorly --

It's tonight- July 18th at 9 PM Pacific, which is actually midnight July 19th Eastern. Confusing, I know- the station operates on GMT which makes it even weirder for us.

Sorry for the confusion!

Oh, crap- I got the headline wrong! Bathia_Mapes or another modmin, if you could change that to the 18th, I'd very much appreciate it.

The station is officially calling the kickoff on July 19th at midnight Eastern, which is 9 PM Pacific time for me.

/thanks!

Hey folks! Thread's live, I'm standing by. My friend Chaotica is currently on the Twitch channel, and I'll be taking over sometime around the top of the hour, and my friend Impius will be playing music on the SHOUTCast stream.

I'm all done with my first adventure in Azeroth, but it was a lot of fun. I appreciate all the donations and support very much!

We'll be doing this all weekend so be sure to drop in and see what we're doing, because it promises to be fun. :)

So sorry I missed this.
Sounds corny but I do believe in miracles and his health could turn back around.

YAY GOD

Sorry I can't contribute. Hope your friend makes dramatic recovery. Try smoking lots of weed, it's been said to cure cancer, 'phoenix tears,' etc.
