Is it weird that I'm kind of disappointed this wasn't about LeBron?

I agree with the premise, but...they should have just run a real candidate. Also this smells really goddamn hipster-ish.

OK, fine. I'm in.

This is a bit different. They are making satire to highlight the dishonesty in politics.

Check out an ad. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=wz_V4lRdt jo

They raised enough via Indigogo to get on TV now. The idea they are referencing is that people seem to pay more attention to shocking satire than other means. (See National Report or Colbert Report)

I'd like to see the character Gil Fulbright being interviewed by the character Steven Colbert.  That would be some entertaining satire.

I don't know about this. It looks like a form of voter suppression, meant to spread malaise and apathy by making the election seem pointless and too powerful to change.

Unfortunately not. It was just some fan art. But if anyone made it, I'd be cricket-bat whacking the f**kadoodledoo out of everything.

Consider this stolen the f*ckadoodledoo out of. Sad about that not being a thing I can play.

I have not, and I'm going out of town for a bachelor party this weekend (not my own). WHY U HATE ME?!?

// and since I'm at work and can't d/l or install - this is a standalone game?
// based on SoR(2, hopefully) and expanded (new characters/levels/baddies/bosses) for today's modern gamers?
// ded of happy if this is so

Speaking still of SoR, have you heard the Gama Bomb song Final Fight (essentially a lyrical mashup of many games of that type, plus 8-bit sound effects)?

I'll have to wait until I go home for this one.

This is a standalone game for PC or Mac (I play it on an iMac running 10.6.8 and have the keyboard keys mapped to a joypad using a 3rd party shareware program).

The levels are based on all three SoR games, and you can go through the options to make it more like the game you prefer. Weapons can be lost according to SoR 1 / 2 / 3 rules, you can have SoR 1 police backup as an option or not, combo hits can be SoR 2 (only if they connect with an enemy, destructible object or another player character) or SoR 3 (if you're mashing the B button, it'll go through the routine). Even jumping can be selected (change direction and way you're facing mid-jump like 1, allow neither like 2, or allow a change of path but not direction like in 3).

The music is great. The game borrowed stuff from the likes of The Shamen, Prodigy, Black Box... and the recreators of SoRR have mixed the original influencing tunes back into the mix, and updated the whole lot.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand here you have the perfect example of why America is Farked.

A thread about a group trying to actually change things turns into a fanboi thread about video games.

Enjoy your third world status, America.

Eh.  What are ya gonna do?

Wait, lemme guess.  You want more people to get out and vote?

On the radio the other day, a guy interviewed a lady that parked illegally on new streetcar tracks.

"Ma'am, did you know that they can now fine you $100 for parking there?"
"A hundred dollars?  That's jus wrong.  Jus another way for them to make money."
"Well, uh, some might say that it's wrong to park illegally, and block public transportation..."
"Well, I didn't ask for no streetcar!"

Do you want this woman to vote against public transportation?

Really doesn't matter.  Given the ample evidence on display everywhere the average American has the attention span of a goldfish and at least 40% of the population has the IQ to match so it really doesn't matter.  Doesn't matter if she votes or not, America has passed the tipping point, it's too late to fix things.  It's just a matter of time now.

"People of Kentucky, you deserve complete honesty, so here it is. I don't care about you," Fulbright, played by a character actor from New York, says in an online video. "Unless you are a donor, a lobbyist who can write a big fat check, the result that you get from voting for me is negligible."

The point that the campaign, being run by a group called represent.us, is trying to make is that there is too much money in politics and that politicians on both sides of the aisle are too beholden to big donors rather than to the constituents who elect them to office.

...which dissuades people from voting. Which plays directly into the hands of the very politicians and big donors they're against.

VOTER: I'm'a take my ball and go home!
POLITICIAN: He does realize that one of us is still going to be representing him in Congress, whether he likes it or not, right?
