What do you prefer, new Kanye or old Kanye?

My choice wasn't listed.  :-(

Yeah, looking unsuccessfully for "C: No Kanye"

I think we really began to realize how much of a douchebag he was when he got up on stage to interrupt Taylor Swift.

I was hoping not to rehash that argument.

There's a good time and a bad time to be right.  In the middle of a fundraiser for the victims is not a good time.

I give him a pass on this one. He was right - Taylor Swift sucks. She is not even in the same universe as Beyonce.

Mine neither. But my choice was "all Kanye."

I'm a fan of his music, don't give a shiat if he's a jerk, as long as he doesn't actually murder anyone or anything like that.

i also vote for "NO kanye". musically: because i don't like 99% of the music i've heard from him. personally, which only matters as far as my turning the tv channels since i'm unlikely to ever meet him, because he's a douchebag and an idiot. but like you, i either like music or i don't...i don't have to like the person making the music

actually the only kanye music moment i can think of really liking him at all was when he and...some other rapper...somewhat famous but can't remember the name...common, perhaps...were on chappelle's show

College Dropout was the only halfway decent record of his and still it was pretty douchey. I don't think there's ever been a time when he was 100% douche-free.

Subby, you so silly to be not swayed, but swung like a wrecking ball by ONE RAP.

I also pick c).
We seem to now have established that there is indeed a c). And on Fark the answer is always c), right?

Jesus, Kim looks fake.  Why won't she go to the plastic surgeon that Kanye's mom went to?

I like his music, which is critically acclaimed no matter how hard the fark 'rap sucks' crowd blows its out the asshole. I don't care for his personality, but thats irrelevant because I'm not listening to him talk.

FTFA:   The clip, of a 19-year-old Kanye West performing at a Fat Beats event in August 1996, shows the future Mr Kardashian delivering a blistering freestyle over an old school hip hop beat.

Blistering? I challenge anyone to decipher more than 20% of what he said (aside from the yea-uh, yea-uh, uh-huh, uh-huh, what, what, yo, yea-uh that usually takes up the first 30 seconds)

God DAMMIT, I hate rap.

Challenge accepted, I understood pretty much everything. Then again, I grew up listening to hip hop.

/Kanye's first 3 albums were good, huge falloff into pop nonsense after that.

I like lots of rap, but I've never heard anything by Kanye that was better than mediocre. It makes me sad when Common comes on pandora and it's a song that features Kanye. It just brings quality down a notch.

Kanye lost all street cred forever in the video for the lyric "This shiat is mad ironic like Alanis Morrisette".

I guess it's the fact that you can't be artistic
Intricate raps, becomin so simplistic
I gotta strong mind it doesn't have to be spoon-fed
And I can read what doesn't have to be read

The quote was from a group called 3rd Bass, it is from a song called Pop goes the Weasel, that was about Vanilla Ice, but can be used for Kanye.

You can say what you want about his lyrical and rapping abilities (I think he's shiat in that department) but Kanye is a solid producer. I wouldn't lump him in with Vanilla Ice just based on his production talent.
