Seattle might have the worst taxi service of any city in the world I have ever visited...even Moscow.

Call for a cab, and maybe they will show up, maybe not. And that from a downtown hotel, not some out of the way place.

To be fair, the dispatcher may have spoken english when none of the drivers do.

Cabbies in every other city in the world: drive as fast as conditions allow. Cabbies in Seattle: stay 5 below speed limit even on hwy 99.

Actually show up, take me where I want to go, take a credit card, and don't smell bad.  You know, like what Uber does.

It shouldn't be that hard, but Boston cabs are pretty much 0/4 on those criteria.

I never had a problem with Seattle cabs, but I used the cab4me app on my phone half so I didn't have to even talk to a dispatcher. The other half of the time I would flag one down as the drove by. This was all downtown and was during a major convention that I used to attend yearly.

This is hilarious. Professional drivers needing training to become normal human beings.

While Uber and Lyft training involves watching a few videos and filling out an online form. The only difference being that those drivers can actually be rated and fired if they suck.
