yobbery: HAPPY CATURDAY!Biscuit is a nimrod.[img.fark.net image 490x367]Biscuit and Mia looooove to play in the tub. Most times when I go in the bathroom one or both will come flying along hoping we'll put the faucet on a slow drip. This morning was no different.I woke up to the alarm as usual and dragged my groggy ass into the bathroom to have a piss. Biscuit came flying in as usual, passed behind me as I stood at the toilet, and sprung into the bathtub. When he jumped into the bathtub he also sent a scrub brush crashing into the tub. The noise and sight of this horrid inanimate object freaked him out and he went flying back out of the bathroom....only this time he passed in FRONT of me.Yes, I pissed on my cat. I got him nose to tail.I'm not proud. As I was trying to chase him down with a wet towel my Wife was asking me what was wrong....with no time to explain before he decided to jump on the couch or something all I could say quickly was "I pissed on Biscuit!". Once she heard the whole story a good time was had by all. He's either really insulted or thinks I've given him the ultimate token of respect. I can't tell which.(dramatization)[img.fark.net image 490x366]

cptjeff: their body temperature is higher than ours [...] My cat really enjoyed 100 degree days back when she was an outdoor cat.
Snuffybud: Could somebody do me a favor and comment on this? My yahoo mail has started to sort everything from fark into my spam folder, I set up a rule that I hope stops this and I want to test it. Thanks!
duke3522: [img.fark.net image 850x508]This girl ran off last Sunday, and didn't show up until Friday morning about 1:30. She's different some how. She is a rescue cat who never really seemed to enjoy life. Since her return she has had more to say, demanded more snugs and rubs, and is actually getting along with our other cat. Right now they are hanging out in a window together!! Never seen that before. She even woke me up this morning demanding rubs. No idea why the change, but I hope it lasts.
yobbery: *sigh* Nathan is at the emergency hospital now. After the spat with Wolf he kept licking his chops as if he had hair stuck in this mouth. The licking turned into extreme tenderness and drooling. Our vet recommended we take him straight to the emergency room. The doc at the hospital thinks he may have a puncture wound in his mouth or a tooth issue. The doc doesn't think his Jaw is broken but needs to sedate him for a better look. Since we are literally within walking distance of the hospital (PVSEC) he told us to just hang out at home and they'll call us after they get a chance to take a peek. They're pretty busy now and it may take a bit of time. Other than his jaw/tooth/whatever he's perfectly healthy and I'm sure other cases are going to take precedence. He weighs 16lbs! Freaked me out because he is not the least bit fat, but him and Wolf are both big muscular cats.I'll update when I hear something.

Diocletian's Last Cabbage: Squilax: Good morning fellow Caturdayians... I have a sad tale to tell today. As some of you may know, I work at a drop-in for street kids. Recently one of them got her first place, and moved in with her 6month old kitten Ashes. The apartment is supported housing, built for people with mental health issues, and permits people to have small pets. However, the windows open downwards, and are only about a foot off the floor. My young client has a place on the 9th floor, and sadly on Thursday morning, she fell out the window to a concrete balcony 5 floors below. We were all in shock, and mourning, because we assumed the cat had died. The young lady's boyfriend scaled the building attempting to retrieve the cat's body, but before he reached it the security guards came and talked to him, and they decided to help him access the area that the cat fell.Well, we were all astonished when she turned up alive. For an hour it was a carnival atmosphere in the Centre, we were all so happy that she was ok. Ashes had a little bit of trouble moving her back leg, but she wasn't crying and she seemed to be ok.A follow up xray and vet visit yesterday afternoon told a different story - her pelvis was shattered. Poor little thing didn't even cry, didn't complain, but she was all broken up inside. The surgery was $5k to start and for a street kid, even with the help of the SPCA advocate, it was out of reach. So here's to Ashes, a trooper to the last...My condolences to you all and to poor Ashes especially.
sneako: [img.fark.net image 417x742]this is Mokey... i rescued her and her brother, Batman at the end of May. I was driving home from work one morning and they were seriously in the middle of a busy highway... they weren't old enough to walk, and their eyes weren't open. I brought them home, and my cat, Godwin, became their foster dad. More pics to follow!!

Bondith: My cat, Molly, went for a walk last Friday morning and never came home. She was 21, and in remarkably good shape for such an ancient cat. Her kidneys were shot and she was too arthritic to do proper cat-yoga to clean herself, but she was still fairly spry. She slept 23 hours a day instead of 21. I moved out when she was 10, so for over half her life she didn't have my bed to curl up on, but whenever I came home she still remembered me ("Oh, hey, it's you. I didn't realise you were gone. Feed me.")Last summer, I was home between jobs. She spent most of her time asleep on the stairs, but when I sat down next to her she'd always wake up and rub her face against mine. When I was in school, I'd sit in the basement with my binder and books spread across the table. She'd come and "help" but sprawling right atop where I was trying to write. Other times she'd sit on my desk while I was on the computer. When she was a kitten, she'd curl up on my shoulder until she got too big to fit.I suspect she went and found a comfortable bush to hide under and let go. 21 is a damn good run for a cat. Someone told me that for a cat to reach that age, it means they're happy and well taken care of. If I could remember my Photobucket password, and had storage space, and could figure out how HTML worked, I'd post some pictures. She was grey, with a white bib and white socks of varying lengths (knee-high on her back legs, more like mittens on her front paws). Mum and Dad and my sister searched the neighbourhood, and there's a missing poster up on the mailbox, but it's probably beyond hope by now. She's been out before, but she's always come home. It's been really hot and dry this past week, so she'd have had trouble finding water.Christmas is gonna be weird. Usually when I go home for a visit, the first thing I do is find her and pet her.
RKade: 28's a good age for pussy. She's well broken in and knows what to and what not to do... and she's so fuzzy and adorable./hate cats.
