gremlin1: spinach gunk: For Yobbery (and anyone else who's earned it)....[img.fark.net image 640x456]...so sorry.....Does it count if your cat jumps into the toilet because he thought the lid was down?I thought that Gremie had learned to levitate the last time he did that. He did manage to jump into the bathtub from the toilet.

spinach gunk: Ms MacGyver: Hi, All. I just received a call from Dr. Bozer (sp?) at UGA. She said that Rufus was resting comfortably today, but she was a little worried last night. Seems that he wasn't able to sit up at all. They would sit him up, but he would immediately flop back down. Standing was out of the question (and has been for several days). She decided to go ahead and give him a round of steroids that was more powerful than what out vet had done, and she started him on treatment for Canine Myasthenia (here's a link to a good page that explains fully: http://www.petmd.com/dog/conditions/neurological/c_dg_myasthenia_grav i s) The thought was that the benefits would greatly outweigh any side effects. When she came in this morning, she said that she did see improvement. Not only would Rufus sit up when they placed him, but he also stood up for a moment!!! I know that's not much, but for him to sit up and stand for a moment after being on meds for only 12 hours seems like a great leap to me! Dr. Bozer said that it was a very baby step, but it did appear that it was an improvement. She also said to expect him to be in the hospital for many more days.Canine Myasthenia is a result of something. If this is what he has, then we have to find out how he got it and see if we can treat the root cause. She had already sent off blood work from this yesterday - the results should be back in a day or two. Please continue your prayers for him. I know that he is in the best possible place to get the best possible care now. She's holding off on the spinal tap until she gets the blood work back since he's stable now.I'm trying not to get too excited. But my heart really wants to be excited.Yay! Hope he continues to improve. What a sweetie pie, such a good boy.How is your daughter coping with this? Has she been able to visit him?

The Ice Queen: So the saga of the bottle babies...Lost the one with the belly wound, he crashed on Sunday and it was best to let him go to the bridge :(His brother is doing well and eats like a freaking pig. His eyes are not open as well but the little brat won't hold still long enough to get a good pic of them. Here is one of him from last night.

lilyspad: I'm going to go eat, and go hit the sack. I'm not going to say WHAT I am eating, because I don't want to be chastised for calling it something that is geographically incorrect, or having the WRONG side dish, and having the GALL to serve the wrong dipping sauce for said dish. I am just going to eat something......that I like, and tastes good to me. See you all tomorrow. :D

Ms MacGyver: My daugter is not holding up too well. She took a trip without him for the first time. And this happens.
yobbery: predle: Next time I go over I'm going to take a feather on a stick toy and see if I can totally wear her out.I think that's a good idea. At seven months old she's probably ready to jump out of her skin with pent up energy.[www.smugmug.com image 250x154]

predle: I went over twice, each time with a feather on a stick (I have more than one of those). It definitely helped although I really doubt that there'll be any cuddling with Cali this week. I left one of the feather things and intend to go over tomorrow armed with several other toys. Hopefully this will help keep her amused. I'm also going to look and see if I have any batteries for my laser toy. I could sit for hours and play with her with that thing.
