Good morning, everybuddy! Busy day in the works for me, but I am grilling a tri tip and making a  baked cheesy tater casserole thingie for mah dinner  noms, so there will be a nice payoff at the end. Nothing makes a fat chick happier about a busy and stressful day than the promise of some delicious noms at the end of it. Well, that's how it works for THIS fat chick! :-D

You guize will be proud of me! I had a big salad for lunch, so to make up for that, I'm having buffalo chicken wings that I got at the deli, and some carrot sticks, and ranch dressing! Mmmmmm...healthy! :D

SACRILEGE..!!

Buffalo Wings come from a bar (any..but preferably, The Anchor Bar)..in Buffalo..period.

All else is pale and jealous imitation..  ;)

Crud, how did I miss that..?!

BLUE CHEESE..!!!

/ *shakes head and mutters*..
//..ranch dressing..  *sigh*
/// slashies in threes..

I am up in the WNY area now.......wish I could bring back some wings for everbuddy!!!

It's not just the ranch dressing, it's the carrots too. I've got nothing against carrots, but real chicken wings come with celery!!!

/If you love wings you should watch The Great Chicken Wing Hunt
//"THE GREAT CHICKEN WING HUNT is a documentary comedy about Buffalo wings and the band of misfits who set out to find the world's best one."
///A buddy of mine is in it (Ben "Thor" Beavers), he steals the film in my opinion!

If he used Ranch Dressing, he lost..
If he left the Anchor Bar, he lost..

Buffalo.  Anchor Bar.  Wings.

There's yer damn Tri-Force..  =D

Nope, not Anchor Bar, at least according to the film. They went there, rated them on the same scale they rated everyplace else and they just weren't the best. Inventing them doesn't mean the make the best wing. The best was still in WNY though. The judged the best wings to be at Abigail's in Waterloo

Fuming, here..

HM came up about 20 min ago and took command of Blue (Street..!)..  Ferget that *all* she did was bring him here..then let him run away..and that I've been caring fer him all nite..

*AND* , in the process, she let Orange run out..which was not in my plans..

Now..  Street is lame..has a bum leg..  I'd been looking thru my minor personal pharmacy t'see iff'n I had any painkillers that would work..  I don't..  What I *DO* have is an SRI that works *great* as an anti-stress/anxiety in canines..and at 2/3rd's the dose..  This is a helpful thing, as is a med I rarely touch..

I pull one pill (2/3 recommended dose) and the HM freaks..

Tells me to back off and that she already gave him ibuprofen..leave doggie alone..

So.  Do you see the prob I instantly saw..?  Is Caturday..all, not 'most'..of you should..

Here's a hint, just in case..

Dunno iff'n the painkiller's gunna be a bad prob, but certainly won't help..  Slipped the pup my Trazadone..  He may hurt..but should be nice and mellow..  I know that's about how it werks fer me.. ;)

We'll has'ta see iff'n there's any fallout from the Ibuprofen..  I biatched her up, down, left and right over that..  Well see..

My cat Fluffy Kitty made her way to the rainbow bridge this week, after battling vaccine associated sarcoma for a few months. She was 13, and was the such a sweet cat, I will miss her. We did the best we could for her, we had her original tumor surgically removed, and the vet referred us to an veterinary oncologist, but for a 13 year old cat my mother and I decided that putting her through that would be insane. She was doing quite well until the end, but she eventually was too weak to do much besides eat and use the litter box, and after taking her back to the vet on Wednesday, it was decided that it was her time to go. Goodbye Fluffy Kitty, I will see you again some day :-(

Hey all-
I gots an interesting situation....  BUNNIES!  Yes, bunnies.  I live in close suburbia (small lots, we're all on top of one another).  Noticed two domestic bunnies hopping around the neighbor's yard (they're renters and rather new).  Couple other neighbors notice this as well.  Clearly domestic, not wild.....  Do they belong to the renters?  Why are they outside?

See them yesterday evening, both clearly have been in fights - tufts of fur everywhere.  Mr. Station picks up one and she's definitely injured.  Are the fightin' with one another or the local cats/squirrels/etc?  Im torn.  Do I scoop them up? Do I not - its after busniess hours...

Mr. Station is out at 10pm with Cooper's last pee of the night.  Sees renter neighbors outside with flashlights... Says "are you looking for the bunnies"... Why yes, they are...  He says he's seen them and they have been attacked and are in need of care immediately.  Neighbor kinda sorta acknowledges.  No clue if they brought them in....

Here's the rub:  This guy likes to sit on his back porch throwing knives at the fence, and has been seen fiddling with a gun (appears to be real, can't tell).  These people are clearly not to be trusted, and I don't wanna scoop the bunnies and have an knife and gun toting loony banging on my door.....

At this point, Im thinking to monitor and if I see them out again, Im calling anoymously into animal control, who hopefully will act on it.....

And now, a pic - Poor quality, but Cooper and Buster in amazingly close quarters (PROGRESS!)

Rufus Update...

Turns out it may not be meningitis.  My vet told me Wednesday that there was nothing more that he could do and that Rufus wasn't improving, so the neurologist was the only hope.  I hopped in the car and drove him to Athens to UGA on Wednesday night...

img.fark.net

Please, please share the link to the page I have set up for him.  I'm posting updates as I get them, too.  There's pictures and video, too.

https://www.giveforward.com/fundraiser/8h35/rufus-the-service-dog-s- ve t-bill

I need prayers, too.  I'm trying to save him so my daughter doesn't goo off the deep end.  We don't know if she's strong enough yet to handle the death of her only friend.  And that's serious - she's 17 and doesn't go out, doesn't meet with friends, doesn't chat on line with anyone or talk on the phone.  Rufus is her only companion.

Thank you so very much for listening.

MaudlinMutantMollusk: Sad news

I got word today that one of my kids that I'd adopted out to a friend has crossed the rainbow bridge. Sparky was brother to Lily and Karl whom I've talked about here before. He was a big, dorky, lovable goof who gave nothing but love. He will be sorely missed.

Goodbye, Sparky.
I hope I get to see you again someday.

Thank you and everyone else for the kind words. It's so crappy to lose a pet under those circumstances, she had her rabies shot last year around October, and then around March a lump started growing in the injection area. Prior to my having experienced this, I had absolutely no idea there was any correlation between vaccines and cancer and that there was any risk of this at all, but apparently it's always a risk. It sort of makes you begrudge yourself for having gotten the vaccine in the first place, but she enjoyed going outdoors, and the risks associated with not getting her shots were far greater than the possibility of cancer. My mothers other cat is strictly indoors, he wants nothing to do with going outside, so I think we may be a little more cautious when it comes to vaccinating him any further.

I'm so humbled by everyone's help.  His bill from my vet was $459 for the five days he was there.  I posted it on the site because I wanted people to know that they donations were going straight to him - not on anything else.  On one hand I feel so guilty and ashamed asking for help, but OTOH I'll do anything I can to save him.  He's only eight - we need to have several more years with him.

That's so very awesome that you live in Athens.  Depending on what I hear today I may need to know of a cheap room to stay there this evening...

I totally understand. Took my sweet Percy there some years ago because they were the only ones who could deal with his issue. It was not cheap. But they are good at what they do.

yobbery: HAPPY CATURDAY!

Biscuit is a nimrod.

Biscuit and Mia looooove to play in the tub. Most times when I go in the bathroom one or both will come flying along hoping we'll put the faucet on a slow drip. This morning was no different.

I woke up to the alarm as usual and dragged my groggy ass into the bathroom to have a piss. Biscuit came flying in as usual, passed behind me as I stood at the toilet, and sprung into the bathtub. When he jumped into the bathtub he also sent a scrub brush crashing into the tub. The noise and sight of this horrid inanimate object freaked him out and he went flying back out of the bathroom....only this time he passed in FRONT of me.

Yes, I pissed on my cat. I got him nose to tail.

I'm not proud. As I was trying to chase him down with a wet towel my Wife was asking me what was wrong....with no time to explain before he decided to jump on the couch or something all I could say quickly was "I pissed on Biscuit!". Once she heard the whole story a good time was had by all.

He's either really insulted or thinks I've given him the ultimate token of respect. I can't tell which.

(dramatization)

I'm... I'm speechloss.  I've never had the kind of morning where I pissed on my own cat (almost died of alcyhaul poisining on several occasions, but nothing like THAT).

I may be (mostly) drunk most of the time, but I CLEARLY recall coming up with both these ideas and posting 'em to Caturday LOOOONG before they popped up on the mains.  I believe I am the victim of intelecshyule property pirates!  I HAZ A UPSET AT THIS!

I believe I am entilted to redress of grievousness over this issue, and I think you should all be a party to it!  Looking to get chowder-funded so I can hire a liawrer and sue everyone who ever made $$$ on a good idea that I also had before them.  If I can get (significant amounts of) $$$ for this, will gladly share with my Caturday family.  Just need someone to set me up with a site to give me the $$$ to hire the liawrer to go after the scoundrels!

For all those interested in contributing, please contact my Nigerian personal assistant.  Thank you all so much!

You guize will be proud of me! I had a big salad for lunch, so to make up for that, I'm having buffalo chicken wings that I got at the deli, and some carrot sticks, and ranch dressing! Mmmmmm...healthy! :D

Therez nothing wrong with a salad.  Lettuce, maters, green peppers, cukes, carrots, radishes, avacadoes, crocolli, cowliflowers, deli ham, pepperjack cheese, croutons, fried bacon pieces, half a bottle of ranch dressing, McCormick Salad Toppings, some leftover chicken nuggets from last night's pub stumble, a fresh can of beer, and you have a full-course meal!

/mmmmmmm beer

I am so sorry sweetie (((((((HUGS))))))) Fluffy Kitty was so beautiful and so very well loved. She will live in your heart forever.
