According to the Post article he was in the hospital 9 days with a broken ankle.

Neither article says specifically what the award was for, how much was for the thief having expenses and how much was for the city having deep pockets.

2014-07-17 08:04:36 PM
Either A: he slipped on a farked up curb that the city failed to fix, or B: the arresting officer pounded the fark out of him and broke his ankle in the process... Either way, the article leaves a lot to the imagination here...

Looks to me like the NYPD really sucks and he's proven it in court several times over.

I've been caught stealing;
once when I was 5...
I enjoy stealing.
It's just as simple as that.
Well, it's just a simple fact.
When I want something,
I don't want to pay for it.

I walk right through the door.
Walk right through the door.
Hey all right! If I get by, it's mine.
Mine all mine!

I gotta say, living down here In Richmond Virginia, Some of the nicests folks I know are NYC expats. We take y'all in hose ya down, give you a few mint juleps and tell ya to sit on the patio a spell. Maybe have cousin Joleene come over and give you a blow job, or cousin joe.. whatever,, nothing wrong with that despite what Brother Pat might say... after a while.. this kinda.. calm... easiness flows over them and then they "rekon they WILLsit a spell"

well.. that's just fine we say.. if ever want the bustle of the big city, well. washington DC is two hours that way.. and if ever miss sitting in traffic for hours on end with no point or reason to the Delay, well.. Hampton roads is two hours down that away, but it's alright, we'll wait six hours for ya if you do.

Being a criminal does not negate the right to a safe work environment.

I'm sure the grocery store will appeal.
Grew up outside NYC, would live there if I hit the lottery, otherwise, it's waaaaaaaaaay too expensive.

Great museums, galleries, music-the Beacon theater, Radio City, the Met, Carnegie Hall come to mind, bagels, bialis, lox, coffee, wonderful chocolatiers-Jacques Torre, La Grenouille, Eataly, the Strand book store, the diamond district, Broadway, a cab driver who was right out of central casting-the guy was a riot, and so proud to be a native New Yorker-that and he got us around fast, knew the streets and not stuck in traffic-which on a Friday around 4pm, is amazingly hard to do, pizza, the bar tenders know how to make Negronis, Central Park by the reflection pond, people watching, the Frick, long blocks to walk as fast as I feel like, are a few things I enjoy about New York. Oh, and I think the Clintons are shameless carpet baggers that really do not belong there. And the United Nations should be moved to Israel. Those entitled diplomat asshats, their progeny, and hangers on are a blight, can not stand them. Let 'em go dodge bullets, bombs 'n mayhem over on the Gaza strip and bring their brand of peace keeping to where they can see it not working at all.

So he's made enough money suing NYC to live a crime-free live in low-stress Lexington, KY.

And teach me how to sue.

Maybe next time the cops can have an accidental fire arm discharge during the guy's arrest.  The city can settle with the guy's kids, but at least they won't have to deal with him anymore.

With the New York Police Department's reputation for accuracy, such an "accident" is much more likely to result in the death of an innocent bystander than any injury to the criminal.

Yeah, sucks that he's a criminal but you can't intentionally trip him while he's cuffed then laugh about and threaten to post it on facebook. Grow up, do your policework correctly and stop costing the taxpayers bullshiat legal settlements.

Yeah. Have friends in TriBeCa & surrounding Burroughs. Like I said, love visiting. 24/7? Too much for me.

You live there?

Fair enough, but why are there so many of y'all from NYC down here in Texas?

2014-07-18 12:24:34 AM
That's how I am. If people weren't stacked upon one another like they are in NYC, Burroughs, etc., it'd be the greatest place in the world. But, space you cannot haz.
