"I'm sorry, I never meant to hurt anybody"

Christ what an asshole.  Even in the unlikely event that she believes what she said, it means she thinks the people in the mailroom who do the screening are nobody.

Maybe, she wanted them to use it to make candy?

Even worse, though, it was a bona fide "false flag" operation to discredit pro-gun rights people.  Not that it was anything but the work of a single twisted individual, but it was nonetheless an attempt to make Second Amendment advocates look like terrorists.

Mailing the letters was one thing.  It's not as if her clumsily-isolated, non-weaponized ricin was likely to hurt anyone.  However, trying to frame an innocent man is unforgivable.  She deserved to have the book thrown at her for that.

You're sorry NOW.

Now that your caught, now that your ruse failed, now that you've been sentenced. Because you sure as hail weren't sorry about it when you did it, nor afterward until you were arrested.

Bye.

I was going to post this:

Oh look, another gun nut trying to kill people, and also unable to accept responsibility for their actions.

But I found out I couldn't corroborate the claim that this was anything but a frame-up, so, you know I have to admit I was wrong(maybe).

I wonder why her husband wanted to separate from such a wonderful woman?

I seem to remember her in "Walking Dead" as "screaming whack-job who gets bitten in the face #3".  I thought she did a good job there.

Consider that, had she not been exposed, firearm prohibition advocates may have ultimately relied upon a completely false claim when advocating an assault weapons ban.

I actually put the odds on it being a "false flag" kind of thing at 50/50 in the original Fark thread, which is pretty high:  I'm not a "conspiracy theory" kind of guy, but something just didn't smell right about it.

Killing people and being honest about it is one thing.  Lying makes it worse.

Sure.  As long as it has a lock on the outside.  And is sound proof so we can't hear all the Pre-pre-pre-pre-pre-pre-pre-defensive gun rights arguments being shouted.

Well, that's what guns are *FOR*.  Putting holes in things, animals, and people.   It's their entire raison d'etre.

Her guilt is not in question.  She just got sentenced to 18 years of federal (as in no parole) time.

The only way she's getting off is if she really, really likes her cellmate.
