Gambling boat run aground?  By chance, was the boat named after Donald Trump?

I'd wager you think that headlines pretty clever, eh Sub?

Why, 100%, of course.

I assume the four who "could not negotiate the transfer" were too farking fat and out of shape to be transferred and required a multi-thousand-dollar helicopter to provide crane support to lift their bodies to shore?

What are the odds they successfully argue that it's too dangerous to take the boat out of port and negotiate a deal to keep it permanently docked?

My first thought was "Wait? Those boats move?"

I mean, I think they have to, but only like 6 feet or something. They don't go anywhere.

What are the odds that a "news" website like UPI, in this day and age, instead of showing a photo of the accident in question, would give us some useless stock photo of a beach ... like their readers don't have a clue what a f*cking beach looks like.

This is what you get when news organizations fire all their photographers. F*ck you, UPI, you useless dinosaur.

It's based out of Savannah, Georgia. Pretty much zero.

Also, a more complete story.

The Escapade, operated by Florida-based Tradewinds Casino Cruise, set out on its maiden voyage out of Savannah, Ga., on Tuesday night.

"Its chart plotter had malfunctioned, causing the vessel to veer off course," reports the Savannah Morning News.

So the guy reading the charts failed? Oh, wait. So the electronic device failed and they didn't have manual back-up.

And it looks like they just had to wait for high tideThe boat was able to come off on its own at high tide early this afternoon and is being towed to the Tradewinds Casino Cruise docks on the Bull River.

Maybe, but it just sounds like they were too old: "As of 3 p.m., four people have been placed on a Coast Guard helicopter, including a possible stroke victim, a man with a cane, one with a walker, and one with a brace,"

About the same as cadets haynsworth and pickens taking pot shots at a union supply ship off the South Carolina
Coast and starting the bloodiest war in American history.

Seriously. WSB in Atlanta had video footage of the boat when they played their report on it last night.

Either it does land on 00 or it doesn't. The odds in roulette are 50:50 for any given number.

Apparently, the 'Escapade' was on its maiden voyage...
... so it did too much, too young?
/ok that was a stretch, at least its nice to see someone else who appreciates the specials besides a Dandy Livingstone cover....

What's the difference between a casino boat and a Carnival Cruise ship? The casino boat only has craps on the tables.

I can't tell if you were serious or not, but just in case....they do go somewhere.  They navigate out beyond the 3-mile limit where the passengers can gamble legally.  If they stay docked they can get raided by the fuzz, with gambling being unlawful in Georgia and all.

Funny you mention that.  My band used to play a gambling boat here in Savannah (it was a wretched gig).

One cruise out we finished our set in the dining room and the comedian was doing his act, when everyone heard a huge grinding noise and the boat listed severely.  The cruise continued and no one really knew what happened until the next day we saw it on the news.

Turns out we struck something pretty big and it ripped a giant hole in the side of the ship.  Luckily it was into a watertight compartment or the ship would've sunk.

The funny thing was, when the ship listed, all the passengers just looked kinda confused.  But the crew lost their shiat and *freaked*.  It was like "every man for himself!"  They were running around like roaches in a bright light.

Their supervisors ran into the dining room and physically restrained them (I'm not kidding...they were grabbing waiters and forcing them to sit down, shut up and don't panic the passengers)
