Don't ever change, Florida.

Langston: Don't ever change, Florida.

Heh, yeah right.

Time for OrlandoPredatorsFootball.com, then.

I half expected this to be a case where the team website moved to a league subdomain, like how chicagoblackhawks.com redirects to blackhawks.nhl.com and then they forgot to keep up the original domain registration...Nope.

The new website is so bare bones, you know they are having major problems over there. Example, there is no place right now to buy tickets online for their games - the link from the arena league website is blank right now.

I can only hope the Kane County Cougars keep their registration updated properly.

Nope - somebody (apparently Scott York from Longwood, FL) registered that back in April.

The domain registration for orlandopredators.com was last updated 5/14/14. A look in the Wayback Machine shows sometime between May 2nd and June 2nd, the website changed - so it holds up that somebody probably forgot to renew the domain registration. Up until at least July 1st, the site was redirecting to areanafootball.com, but sometime lately it changed to the current redirect.

The team just got sold, and they're relocating from the UCF arena back to the Amway Center. So a lot of things are in flux right now. It doesn't surprise me that the ticketing site is a mess.

We couldn't get any information about this story, really, that wouldn't confuse people.

But it's definitely not an issue of "forgetting to renew the domain." They purchased the domain in 1998 and got a 20-year lease on it. My guess is that the new owner's actually going to change the team name and transferred the domain in order to push that along, or something.

Same goes for the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears.

What are the odds on relocation?

This makes no sense unless they also lost their web host.  If they didn't lose their host, all they need to do is update the DNS record for the new domain to the old hosted IP.  Dumbasses probably didn't have the site backed up either.

They were just (and by "just", I mean "this week") purchased by David Siegel, an Orlando time-share mogul. They're not going anywhere, except from the UCF arena to the Amway Center.

This.... this year (actually last two seasons) have been pretty much a train wreck for the Predators, who otherwise are probably in the top 4-5 notable AFL franchises in history.    The new owner is the owner of Westgate resorts (David Siegel) and has a crapload of cash, and from everything I've read, looks on the team as a bit of a "toy/hobby", but one he certainly wants to imrpove and get back on stable ground.   But, that is the kind of owner an AFL team generally needs... someone who wants it as a "toy/hobby/status symbol" and is willing/able to lose some money to get the engine back revved up, and willing to support it in some lean years.

No, doubtful they will change the name.   Some more of the backstory is that the league kicked out the previous owner, and that guy still held the domain name, so, I think this was a piece of retaliation really.

The Predators had ownership issues earlier in the season and it seems as though, because the previous guy couldn't pay his bills, he got bounced from the league. But he owned the domain so he sold it off to spite the league, which is why it goes nowhere.

Got sold officially a couple days ago to a legitimate owner who can actually afford to cut the checks.

I worked with a couple of the people on that CNN bust story the other day, so I'm getting a kick out of etc etc.
