What's truly fascinating about this is that the real Pierre Salinger, who as TFA correctly points out achieved infamy back in the 90s when he announced that TWA 800 had been shot down by the Navy, was in the years after his death in 2004 discovered to be a KGB informant who'd been on the payroll for decades, dating back to the earliest years of the Cold War. The records on his espionage activities, which go on for thousands of pages, read like a James Bond novel and touch on some of the most notorious intelligence failures in American history. Most fascinating, though, is a single folder dated "1961" that contains only three documents: a photocopied page of airline ticket stubs referencing a flight from Washington to Kenya, returning through Hawaii; a scrap of paper with two letters on it, perhaps a set of initials (B.O.); and a blank birth certificate. People have speculated for years as to what it might have meant.

This is actually called J.D. Salinger syndrome.

How much validity was mainstream media giving to this story? I decided to check it out, but not wanting NSA or KGB to think I was a complete nut, I clicked open "private browsing" and went to the "duckduckgo" search engine to leave no trail of my research. The "duck" people say they don't keep search records, but I have a feeling those 18 year-old computer nerds being hired by NSA are figuring that one out.

Pierre Salinger died October 16, 2004 (aged 79) "after years of suffering from dementia",

He bought into the TWA conspiracy in Nov 1996 only 8 years before he died.

Many people before starting to exhibit dementia sometimes act strangely. In the famous case of the business man (Gerard Finneran) who climbed onto an airplane drinks cart, dropped trou, and took a shiat on it - he died of Alzheimer's a few years later.

I expect Joan Rivers to be dead soon too.

I would be great is being a conspiracy nut is a sign of eminent permanent silence but sadly that is not the case.

If you are reading this on the Internet you MUST IMMEDIATELY cash out of all your assets and send the money to BRANT GOOSE in the form of cashier's cheque payable to bearer OR ELSE SOMETHING TERRIBLE WILL HAPPEN.

And the people who named it Pierre Salinger Syndrome can bite me. According to something I just read on the internet, he didn't get his misinformation from the internets at all but from experts who just happened to be wrong. He may have been gullible but he wasn't Internet gullible.

There's a racist undertone to the whole "black woman is really a transsexual" thing.  Sure it's insulting in its own way when you accuse any woman of being transsexual, but there's an intersection with the bigoted notion that black women are more masculine than white women to being with.  So you've got a nice little mixture of racism, transphobia, misogyny, and who knows what else.  All for the sake of a political joke.

Why?  Who is Wendy Williams?  Does she claim black women are more masculine than white women?

FTA: "A few years ago, former White House press secretary Pierre Salinger was convinced by articles he read on the internet that TWA flight 800 was accidently shot down in 1996 by our own Navy."

The NTSB investigators who investigated TWA 800 concluded, based on irrefutable physical evidence, that an explosion external to the plane was the cause of the crash. Why would anybody not believe that?
