I'm giving this plus one based purely on the headline. That's funny, right there.

/Hey,Bergdahl get away from my quail!
//For some reason whenever we have a thread on the guy I get an Everly Bros earworm.

This is bad news... for Obama

I'm surprised this wasn't a bigger "scandal", considering all the other bullshiat "scandals" pinned on Obama.

EvilEgg: Will the GOP lose its mind if he is found innocent?

Too late.

But no, they still won't back down on trying to make this a thing. Look how long it took them to drop Benghazi.

Bergdahl is better than Benghazi because there's one less syllable to remember.

Wait a second....they've dropped Benghazi?!??!

Didn't they just convene a new committee to re-assess the findings of the previous committees's findings of the previous committee which found nothing?

It depends on if you pronounce his name like if he was a muslim (looking at you Hannity). "Berg-da-ahl".

Oh, they tried. Then everyone pointed out that they all wanted Bergdahl home, right up until literally the day Bergdahl came home. Then they wanted to give him back, or something.

I hope his attorney is a good one.

Well I'm sure they're not completely dropping Benghazi but there was a time not long ago where it was in the news every day and they wouldn't shut up about it. The crusade  took a blow when they caught the guy who spearheaded it and said it was about the video, not that it was ever an issue in the first place.

Hardly a scandal, but the wisdom of releasing 5 high-value prisoners for a soldier who apparently doesn't understand the concept of "authority" and has a habit of just wandering off is debatable.

Yeah, I'm not voting for him in 2016 either so I guess this is OK.

See the problem is that we exchanged the wrong people. A few of the High ranking GOP'ers would have been a great exchange.

Yes they will, along with a lot of weight in a lot of their pockets if him and his family decide to sue. Hell he could probably sue Fox right now for their insistence that he had joined the Taliban.

Yea, those 5 prisoners were so high-value that one of the guys responsible for building cases against Guantanamo prisoners had never even heard of them.

/don't remember the guys name or I'd pull up a link

They would be good for a photo op at least...

BONUS: It would be the greatest form of spreading disinformation that any administration could ever pull off. The GOP knows nothing (real) that is going on in the US

A son came home to his father, but you're scared of 5 guys who have been in prison for the better part of a decade.

What's it like to live in fear like that all the time?

That is onlybecause they are going on about Obama's immigration crisis that he personally caused by failing to enforce the law (which is a euphamism for enforcing the law passed by a GOP Congress and signed by Bush) and that he won't do anything about (while they refuse to pass any legislation providing funds or changing any rules).

Once this blows over it will be back to Benghazi. Just like what happened the Obamacare Website Scandal, the IRS scandle, the Obamacare Enrollment Scandle, Bergdahl etc.

I have a friend that´s a military wife that posted something on social media about how if this guy had nothing to hide, then why does he need a lawyer. I guess the rights and freedoms our military fight for no longer include a right to counsel or the idea that thing like say retaining counsel or pleading the 5th can not be used to determine guilt.

2014-07-16 04:06:39 PM
Damn, I was hoping he'd retained an attorney to sue pretty much the entire Right Wing Noise Apparatus. If he's found innocent maybe he can do that next, because I want them to bleed.

2014-07-16 04:07:02 PM
We have a history of screwing over serviceman for political points so he damn well better hire an advocate.  In 1989 the USS Iowa had a turret explosion.  The Navy quickly identified a sailor who was most likely gay and committed suicide because he was distraught.  Story over.  The truth only came out came out later that the real cause was improperly stored powder that exploded.

Bergdahl is going to be a political football with Darrell Issa and the Mitch McConnell claiming all sorts of crap to hurt Obama.  Support the troops.

How you imagine I live is very different from reality, I promise you.

On the other hand, you might want to direct your question to the people who are still getting the business end of the Taliban.

Well first of all, they weren't just sent to Disney World, they were sent to Qatar. And if they were such dangerous terrorists, why were they held without trial for 12 years? And this soldier's behavior is irrelevant. He's an American. If he acted inappropriately on the job then he'll be tried here.

I ignore both groups, and instead prefer to wait for a trial and it's results. Due process and all that.

/of course someone had to sneak in "maybe he's a traitor too, because reasons."

Being stationed at Ft. Sam, there in San Antonio, it's not much different than being in Afghanistan. Have you been up Harry Wurzbach lately? Just like Afghanistan. Only with more Stop-n-Gos.

It was another phoney GOP scandal. Actually two scandals. First, it was a scandal that he was still being held as a "U.S. Army POW."

media.nwcn.com
Then only a day after The Washington Post revealed a deal was in the works to trade the five men for Bergdahl, McCain appeared on television with what was billed as a "new position" which was awful and another scandal. Here he denying he changed his position.

i1.huffpost.com

Too bad for Senator McCain, the Washington Post explained that he had changed his position. Fact Checker says McCain did flip flop.

Yeah, I'm not sure how pointing out that the 43rd POTUS declared the Taliban defeated is a strawman?

If the Afghan people want the Taliban gone, they need to do it themselves.
