THE DOORS were a bad band, run-of the-mill??!

Ohnohedidnt.

Any article that lists Heart and The Doors as bad musicians is full of shiat. You may not like what they produce(d) but calling them 'bad musicians' is just plain ignorant.

Heart?

That fark.

The Doors were hit and miss for the most part but I think that LA Woman showed promise of a whole new direction for them.

Robby Kreiger was a trained flamenco guitarist. The writer needs to listen to Spanish Caravan & have a nice warm cup of shut the hell up.

Hard to trust what they call bad when a lot of what they call good was bad.

Tr0mBoNe: Heart?

That fark.

This!

Heart may have put out some schlock, All I want to do is make love to you, and Alone is a decent song.  But it's not their best work.  I would go with Magic Man or Barracuda as their best work.

"I don't like them, they must be bad" strikes again.

> But with the Doors, we sort of knew they weren't that great.

I'm gonna go ahead and guess this guy's life doesn't come within 10 years of overlapping Morrison's.

Second horrible list of the day, right next to the Rolling Stones gun list. WTF guys?

Mods are going for the "B'tarded Listicle from Rolling Stone" trifecta

The Doors...really?

And early Heart was damn good (before they got too schlocky).

Fair assessment, though I would argue that they peaked with Morrison Hotel. What I would not argue is that I can barely tolerate listening to The Doors for more than ten seconds these days

The fact that the writer thinks that Train has even one good song immediately invalidates all of it.

Morrison sucked, but the rest of the band was good.

Heart was/is great.

The rest was pretty easy pickings.

Morrison is so overrated, that the rest of the band is actually underrated, ESPECIALLY Ray Manzarek. He gets entirely too much credit for their success, when it was Ray Manzarek's awesomeness with a Vox organ that defined their sound.

Well, The Doors may be overrated, but a "bad" band?
Heart is a "bad band"?

What kind of motherfarkers are this stupi...

Wait, "Boogie in the Butt" is a Top-10 "Best" dong?

That explains this whole list. Who wrote this crap? Oh, it was "OC Weekly Contributor". That explains even more. Has nobody learned from Yahoo? Just because today's journalism sucks, it doesn't mean that some dipshiat fresh off the internets can do it as well. The whole 'Yahoo Contributor' thing during football season SUCKS, and so does this shiat. I'm actually gonna go out on a limb and say that this "Contributor" probably writes gun stories for Rolling Stone.

And I left that typo in on purpose, it's farking hilarious.

They were absolutely awesome at the RRHOF induction last year. They haven't lost a thing. I would have rather been there than wasted my money on Van Halen 2 years ago.

Since Robbie Krieger wrote most of their good material, I think you're barking up the wrong tree.Morrison wasn't over-rated, either. Good baritone voice.

The Doors were a good band with great material. And Krieger wrote that material.

He's not really wrong. It wasn't a question of musicianship, I'll give you that.

And should musicianship really be a deciding factor in 'Rock'?

Harry Connick Jr. always had a Cajun undercurrent that allowed him to edge things up when he wanted to, but Bublé's never quite found a way to broaden his horizons.

Cajun? Harry Connick? Really? I guess everything from Louisiana is Cajun to this idiot. Terry Bradshaw? Cajun. Louis Armstrong? Cajun. Britney Spears? Cajun.

Exactly. I grew up in the 80's and could never figure out why so many people liked The Doors so much. It was always about Morrison who seemed to me, even to this day, to be nothing more than a non-talented narcissist who thought he was a "poet" (whatever THAT means).

Plus the fact that Morrison wasn't a musician.  Unless shaking a tambourine or moroccos qualified one as a musician back in the day.  He was a 'poet/songwriter' with a half-way decent voice.  Nothing more.

Very true, but it was Manzarek's keyboard playing that really put it over the top.
