(Rolling Stone)   Here are Rolling Stone's five most dangerous guns in America. I'm betting they list Kurt Cobain's shotgun as #1, because they always have to have Nirvana at the top of their lists   (rollingstone.com) divider line 395

The only way that could have been dumbed-down more had it been a single-item called "Guns"

Well, after countless submissions, we finally see one greened, and this headline probably was the best of them all.

Pulling the trigger of a rifle fires one projectile at the intended target...

Tommy Lee Jones dumb look from No Country for Old Men would also be acceptable.

I've seen this pop up a few times over the last couple of days.  The first time I clicked it, thinking it would give specifics like, Colt Model 1911A1s are used in a higher percentage of robberies than any other, or something like that.  But seriously, five very general categories that pretty much encompass "GUNS", with three of them being "handguns", just said different ways.  Truly, one of the dumbest farking "articles" I've ever read, and I've read articles from "The Blaze".  Congratulations Rolling Stone, you've made Glenn Beck's shills seem intelligent.

2014-07-16 09:34:48 AM
Honestly, Subby's idea of listing five famous guns used in the past would have made for a better article.

/Terry Kath's gun would have made the list, too.

That was honestly one of the dumbest articles I've read in a long time. They just listed a bunch of different gun types and their functions. Not even model types, just generalized names like "pistols" and "shotguns". No shiat, there are pistols and shotguns in America? And they're deadly? You don't say!

Le sigh...

I guess they could have gone with a list of six and said "machine guns".

2014-07-16 09:38:40 AM
That was a waste of a click. It was as bad as the nut job on Fark a while back who insisted he carried a sawed off shotgun because he had a derringer that held a .410 shotshell.

Or seven if they had included grenade launchers.

I have been repeatedly assured by firearms enthusiasts that guns are not dangerous. And if they are, then we should ban cars and swimming pools.

2014-07-16 09:40:46 AM
This might finally be the article that is too stupid to even have an argument about.

1. Pistols

I think that may be the stupidest thing I've seen in a week. I guess TRS has let its quality standards go to shiat to.

When my daughter was about 2 years old, I asked her if she was a bird.  She respodned "NO!"  I asked her why not? She said "Birds poop and I have legs."  That utterance was 100 times more insightful than that article.

devildog123: Colt Model 1911A1s are used in a higher percentage of robberies than any other, or something like that.

I would assume so -- the design was very successful.  It is 103 years old and was the standard-issue service pistol for the US armed forces (among others) in WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, and a plethora of smaller conflicts.  There have been millions of them made, and they continue to be extremely popular.  By sheer number, it would make sense that they show up a lot.

The gun owner and shooter forums are having a field day with this showcase of ignorance and stupidity.
Rolling Stoned should stick to writing about subjects they actually know something about, which nowadays doesn't seem to be very much.
