The Rhode Island Lottery said Tuesday that Flemington, New Jersey, resident Thomas Mistele bought a $20 ticket for the $1,000,000 Scratch game at a Block Island pharmacy and won the same amount back. So he decided to buy another ticket.Lottery officials say he started shaking with disbelief when he realized he had won $1 million.

Should've kept going. Maybe every ticket there is a winner! And the pharmacist is the guy from Something Wicked This Way Comes.

Might even put a dent in the cost of his Block Island vacation.

Or, Rod Serling.

/Thomas Mistele thinks he's just won the lottery, but he's really won a one way trip...

Mistele immediately told a friend with whom he's staying on Block Island

Who then MURDERED HIM and stole the ticket.

I was thinking it was going to be one of those found some whale vomit on the beach stories. Finding ambergris can be as good as a lottery win.

Pffft, big deal.  I always get in a few high value contract killings while on vacation.  Big money, undeclared income, not to mention airline and hotel points.

His family says that he is "the lucky one" in the family. Adding to the fact he bought a 20 buck lottery ticket, I would guess he  buys scratchers all the time and then only tells his family when he wins a decent amount.
