They should have just stopped creating new flavors for chips after they realized perfection with the Ketchup chip.

Well, you certainly are an imbecile!

I never even mentioned whether or not I like ketchup chips. I merely said I didn't realize they didn't have them in the US.

Yea, I am not too crazy about ginger or wasabi. However, wasabi peanuts are alright, as they don't taste exactly like the wasabi you get with sushi. It's got a slight sweetness to it. So that might be the saving grace for them in these. But I am still not too sure about the ginger.

The others sound alright. The mango salsa could be interesting, as would the cappucino. I've had something similar to the bacon mac chips before.

We have weird ones out here now. Kalamari and Tzatzike, cheeseburger sliders and buffalo chicken wings. Only ones I didn't try were the chicken wings. The KaT ones tasted like dill pickle chips, the cheeseburger sliders were little more than ketchup and some kind of beef flavour.

that's an entirely different matter than eating crisps with powdered 'ketchup' on them. did i just say crisps? french fries are eaten with either mayo, or ketchup, i hear mustard is now popular, but vulgar. i prefer salt and vinegar.

the only acceptable potato chip flavour is salt and vinegar. all others are just absolutely disgusting. doritos, cheetos, etc...also good, as long as salsa or sour cream is also available.

i can't believe i have to tell u all this.

Are you trolling? Yankee cornbread isn't sweet. Somehow, it's made with white corn and comes out salty.
Same with Yankee grits.

WTF is you people's problem with yellow corn? It's buttery, sweet and savory.

huh?
one of the reasons i hated southern cornbread growing up in southern arkansas is that it was overly mealy, dry (which is why, i assume, my family and friends commonly break it up into their pintos...to soak up the moisture), and sort of bitter. first time i ever tried cornbread that was sweet, like at boston market (yes, i know, it's a casual dining chain, not a fine dining establishment), i liked it. but everyone i've talked to about it says it's not real cornbread, it's yankee cake they pass off as cornbread.

anyway, the last time my wife made cornbread (in the muffin pan) with a pot of cornbread, i can't remember if she made it from scratch or a box of jiffy corn muffin mix, but i actually liked it...don't know if it was a fluke, or if my tastes have changed that much. i mean, i like brocolli now, and i didn't for the first 37 years of my almost 39 year life

No, mayo should never be on fries.  NOPE, NOPE, NOPE.  A quality balsamic vinegar, with a sprinkle of salt is pretty good.

As for the chips, wife is looking forward to the mango salsa.  I'm not really feeling any of them, but I might try the bacon, mac & cheese.  Lately, I have been getting plain chips and dipping in salsa, but I'm not a fan of mango salsa.

lack of warmth: kling_klang_bed: As a Chicagoan, that sounds like the ONLY thing worse than a hot dog with ketchup! Ketchup belongs on fries (when you don't have mayo or Sriracha around), and THAT'S IT, NO EXCEPTIONS!!! I would love to see some poutine chips, though, when Canada eventually gets around to that.

No, mayo should never be on fries.  NOPE, NOPE, NOPE.  A quality balsamic vinegar, with a sprinkle of salt is pretty good.

You're from either the east coast or the upper parts of the northeast, I'm guessing? They do that alot here in VA. I never quite got it myself.

Last year Lays Canada had a create a flavour contest and one of the finalists came up with the idea of combining potato chips and maple syrup.
They were well worthy of that gif. I tried two of them from a bag that a friend purchased and at the time I wondered aloud about how many bags of those shiatty chips retailers would have to throw out.

Here's the deal: these chips do not actually exist. They are recommendations for new flavors that Frito-Lay solicits from the public and then feeds to the press. This is just clever marketing.

i'm fairly certain these top 4 finalists do get released on a trial run and the public gets to vote on their favorite. the last run, i know at least 3 flavors were released for tasting/voting...sriacha, c&w, cheesy garlic bread...perhaps there was another?

Clever marketing? As in, hey want these chips, too bad they don't exist? I'm sure that'd work out real well for them.

Seriously though, this is just the next iteration of the contest they had last year. Of which, my fav was the cheesy garlic bread, one of the ingredients was actual butter.

nice! didn't realize that. but i still feel like you and i were in the minority in cgb being the best of those flavors! everyone i knew that had tried them said the cgb was bland and the c&w were the best...well, a small few said sriacha...
