I might have just missed it over the last ten years or so that I've been here, but I don't recall anyone (that I took seriously) who said the level of surveillance and lack of privacy we have from both the government and corporations is anything resembling "ok".

/that part about taking someone seriously is key, though

Or when people were being blacklisted for being 'Communists', or sent to internment camps for being Japanese.

Americans giving up liberty in the name of security is not a recent phenomenon.

Oh, I forgot people being arrested, their belongings taken, and their lives ruined for smoking a plant. And people having their lives ruined for being caught pissing in an alleyway, or getting drunk and groping someone at a party, in the name of 'Protecting the Children'.

I was on Fark saying the same thing Rall is now. Also somewhat active in local political organizations, but that didn't seem to do much. I don't have a national platform, or millions of dollars to contribute to political campaigns, so what else can I do? Please tell me, what are my options here to affect positive change.

I'm not pro-molestation. I merely think that, while that sort of behavior does need to be punished, being put on a list that essentially ruins your life for it is a bit much. This doesn't apply to actual child molesters and rapists, of course, but we're far too quick to put someone on the sex offender registry for comparatively minor things, and when you mention that, you're labelled as 'pro-molestation'.
