"passive aggressive" originally meant a subordinate in a power relation screwing up as a means of opposition - E.g. when a boss says "make me a cup of coffee" to a subordinate whose job does not involve coffee making,  the subordinate purposefully makes a lousy cup of coffee to avoid being asked to do so again. A subordinate relationship often prohibits direct disobedience or opposition.

Now the meaning has become so vague it may mean being not directly physically aggressive - an insult is "passive" because it is not a punch in the face.

varmitydog: The difference between subby's pisspoor link and responsible journalism:

A 49-year-old Connecticut man has been charged with threatening after his wife told police he stabbed and carved a watermelon in a passive-aggressive manner.Thomaston Police Chief Jim Campbell said Carmine Cervellino's wife originally went to police on July 4 to report finding marijuana and drugs in a toolbox at the house. The toolbox was not there when police responded and no charges were filed.

When the woman later returned home, she found a watermelon on the counter with a butcher's knife in it, police said. She told police that Cervellino came in soon after and carved the watermelon in a passive-aggressive manner, Campbell said.

The Register Citizen of Torrington, which originally reported the story, said the woman took a photo of the toolbox and the knife and showed them to police. Cervellino was arrested on July 12 and charged with threatening and disorderly conduct, according to online court records. It is not clear if he has an attorney.

The couple is in the process of going through a divorce, according to police. Link

Well lucky for this guy he is getting away from the crazy biatch.

Also lucky for him that he is going to get a payout for false arrest.

There... Right There...

THAT'S the real reason behind this story...

They are going through divorce and she's looking for any shiat she can pin on him as an advantage in the divorce hearings...

One of my best friends went through this sort of shiat when he was getting a divorce. She would call the police and tell them he was harassing her while he would be over at my house while we were playing a game. She did all sorts of crazy shiat because she was a vindictive thundercoont and pissed because he initiated the divorce even though she was the one cheating...

Based on that last line right there, I doubt there were any drugs to begin with, so I understand if he was implicating harm to the watermelon...

So he was arrested because of how she felt about what he was doing?

Jeng: Ok, so the cops would not arrest him for having a little pot in his toolbox, good on the cops, but why in the hell did they arrest him for carving a farking watermelon?

Seriously WTF?

Because in this land of the free and the home of the brave, a suburban Caucasian woman can elicit her right as a whiny coont and write laws at her whim.

In that case, these guys should be arrested for armed insurrection as an act of treason:

Police say the woman had gone to police on July 4 to report finding drugs, including marijuana, in Cervellino's tool box.

FTFA: She reported that Cervellino then entered the room and began carving the watermelon. She called the incident passive-aggressive and menacing.

I am certainly not inviting this coont over for Thanksgiving, I'd be charged with attempted murder after the work I would do on the turkey.
