Food porn just got a whole lot sexier thanks to Pizza Hut who are set to launch this amazing, fabulous, oozy, melted, mouth orgasm-worthy cookie pizza made with Hershey's chocolate.

Your press release doesn't convince me that your giant, cheap cookie is going to be any good.  Cookies are for fat children anyway.

Chain *food* sucks in general. It takes a while for most people to realize it, though.

After you hit your mid-30s, I think, you start to realize - "Hey, all this restaurant food tastes the same. It's just a bunch of salt and a bunch of butter."

That's when you start cooking for yourself whenever possible, and only eating at REALLY GOOD restaurants.

I suppose it's different if you live in a big city with lots of good restaurants. But for most Americans, chain restaurants are pretty much all there is. You grow up on the stuff, and don't really think about it.

Meanwhile, Pizza Hut Australia has a little more variety:

Heck, here in the USA, Dominos (as Uzzah noted) had already tried and failed with a cookie pizza, and now is actually putting pizza toppings directly onto fried chicken chunks instead of on pizza crust!

I kind of think it's fun when a food is freed from the social conventions that demands it be created and served a certain way.  Pizza is held back way too much in this country by endless yammering of what a real pizza is supposed to be.  That's finally easing up a bit.

What pictures of oily starch circles did Rapmaster2000 post prior to your post? Not counting his Little Cæsar's photos afterwards,

Though, that third Crown Crust pizza I posted an image above (the stand-alone one with no print) really should've been done by Little Cæsar's instead of Pizza Hut Middle East. It gives all new meaning to the rest of their name: "Pizza Pizza!"

Not mine. I recently moved to an area that only serves 'St Louis-style' pizza, which is a square-cut thin crust with a light, sweet sauce and provel cheese (which is basically provolone-flavored Velveeta). It is just shy of absolutely inedible. Sadly, Papa John's is the only place nearby to get a "real" pizza, even one that's kinda crappy.

You must be talking about Imo's... My St. Louis friends raved about the provel cheese. I had my hopes up so high that I was about to eat the most amazing pizza ever. I was left quite sad.

It could be worse.  Admittedly I don't eat pizza very often but I've lived in Ottawa for a few years and this place is the absolute worst.  Ottawa seems to have a particular "style" of pizza - thick crust, the toppings are placed underneath the cheese and they put a disgustingly huge amount of cheese on it.  The end result is that everything ends up being a soggy, goopy mess, goddamn awful.  I haven't seen this done anywhere else.

I've tried all the local places the natives rave about, they're terrible.  To get a "normal" pizza, you're pretty much reduced to the chains (Pizza Hut, Domino's, etc.), which aren't very good either so it's no wonder I don't eat it much.

Yes. Imo's is the local chain that really popularized it, I think, but all the other mom and pop places have jumped on board with "authentic St Louis style" pizza. Only the national chains serve something recognizable.

Funny thing about the folded crust on the double deep, its not to hold the toppings on, its to contain the LAKE of grease that results from that much cheap cheese. They also pour bread crumbs on it for this purpose.

Chain pizza in general sucks. I haven't had Domino's in over twenty years but I know I'm not missing anything. Someone served Little Caesar's at a kid's party we went to a few years back and I was tempted to ask them for the box instead after one bite. Pizza Hut has to be the most overrated though. The only time we order from there is if one of us has a pizza craving and there's no other options for delivery, which are few here.

Well, up until a few months ago. We have one chain around here called Jet's that we had never tried because we figured they were too far away for delivery to our area but we took a shot, called one night, it turned out they delivered here and it was actually pretty good. I like thin crust and theirs was wafer thin. They also have sandwiches and wings, which my wife and mother in law both tried and they liked everything. They aren't national though, they're mostly in the midwest and south.
