And to think people said he lacked consistency.

Sad story. It seems that the guy is suffering from mental issues and was getting treatment when this happened. It also seems that he went a few years untreated which would explain his increasingly bizarre behavior over the years. Mental illness is not pretty.

I know a lot of people are going to say this is just his lawyers concocting a story to get him off, but this is exactly how mental illness manifest itself. People's behavior start changing little by little over time, starting with small things that others brush off as the person being an asshole or being shy or just acting out, and their behavior gets increasingly more and more bizarre until it really becomes a problem to everybody they come in contact with.

We aren't saying it excuses it, but it could explain it and possibly help identify a solution to the behavior.  Stop being such a dick.

In other words, you don't understand the difference between cause and effect.

Dude needs *help*. Period.

At some point, they need to be looking into involuntary committal. Its pretty obvious at this point he's out of control and pushing the needle towards 'dangerous'.

Multiple felony counts isn't already dangerous enough?

He didn't want to be that guy who throws away a million-dollar pro career because he'd rather smoke weed.

So he became the guy who throws away a million-dollar pro career because he'd rather commit felonies.

Most violent criminals have a mental illness. Most of these illnesses cannot be effectively treated, and in fact are sometimes "unidentifiable."

People like Young have other issues, and don't let mental health be the crutch by which they can skate through life.

There are dangerous untreatable folks with mental illnesses. That said since he hasn't really tried treatment, it's hard to say his is. Perhaps it would help. It would be good for him to find out...
