DanZero: Still no cure for Star Wars Holiday Special

/except Rifftrax

I remember the night that aired. We lived in southern Idaho, and family was in Salt Lake. We usually came to Utah for the holidays. I can't remember which direction we were heading that night, but I was pissed that I was going to miss it. We stopped for about 20 minutes at some obscure cousin's house, and I got to watch about 10 minutes of it, but that's it. Even though it sucks so badly, it still would be kind of cool to have an "I was there" story, instead of an "almost there" one.

2014-07-15 05:32:36 PM
Oh, and this whole "Remember When?" moment doesn't really work without some kind of media track to play so we can hear it, because I never listened to this album, so I have no idea at all what R2D2 sounded like.

...and hey, if that background dancer on Patrick Hernández's Born to Be Alive video looks familiar to you, that's because it's Madonna!!

And one of the guys says, 'Hey, I know what we should do!"...

And I said what?...

And he said, "Let's raid Prince's wardrobe and start a rock band!"..

And we were all like, yeah dude, cool!...

Then we went back to watching the stripper."

soseussme: "Wanted -- droid or alive..."

Luke he used-ta work on Tatooine
Rebels gettin' crushed,
Empire makin' life so tough (oooh, so tough)
Leia fightin' Vader all day
Workin' for her dad
She brings home the droids for plans (ooh, for plans)

She says we gotta hold on, for Obi Wan
It doesn't make a difference if he's alive or not
We got each other and that's a lot
Where are the robots?

Ohh, we're halfway there, oh whoa! Livin' with The Force
Take my saber, we'll make it I swear
Oh, livin' with The Force....

Yoda's got a crash in Dagobah
He ran like a biatch in the Clone Wars
He likes to backwards talk - so weird he sounds, mmmmm?
Han he dreams of flyin' away
Chewie cried when he got froze
Han he whispered Chewie it's okay, someday (you gotta take care of the Princess)

Ohh, we're halfway there, oh whoa! Livin' with The Force
Take my saber, we'll make it I swear
Oh, livin' with The Force....

We've got to blow up the Death Star if its ready or not
You live for The Force when it's all that you've got!!!!

Ohh, we're halfway there, oh whoa! Livin' with The Force
Choke out Jabba, we'll make it I swear
Oh, livin' with The Force....

I don't know if it's an old joke but it made me laugh out loud for at least a minute with my eyes getting wet. I'm very glad I'm not in a public or work place. I have an R2-D2 figurine on my desk, I'll never look at it the same way again.

Why is a random, meaningless piece of trivia that's been kicking around since the dawn of the internet getting greenlighted?

If I was the type of person that submitted links, I'd be pissed that this went mainpage.

Still the best Star Wars Christmas song (IMHO). Ignore the JarJar-y voice and wait for the payoff at the end:

Wow.  I'd never heard that before.  It's really, really bad, and it's not even Bon Jovi's fault.  I expected it to be his fault, because everything he does sucks, but this, you can't blame it on him.
