You know, I was going to mention fleshlight in my comment. From the looks of it, it seems like those are one-time-use devices, with the lousy materials and construction.

1. It's not a Rube Goldberg machine - it's more of an escapement like a grandfather clock

2. Rube Goldberg machines are, by definition, whimsical, absurd, and useless.
