Shouldn't the pro-tip be once the guys talks about having sex with your 5 year old DON'T invite him over!  Even if you're going to set up a sting.

2014-07-14 05:48:41 PM
I just can't even.... 5 years old.  Now I know young WOMEN are attractive, no secret there, I can understand someone being attracted to a 16 year old.  That's out of bounds of course, but at least understandable.  Who in the everloving fark sees a 5 year old and says "DAYUM I need me some of that!"?  This stupid planet.

I realize that the professionals (i.e., Chris Hansen) have half the police department waiting in the next room when they tell you to take a seat over there, but I'm always a little surprised that the dude in question doesn't just Hulk out on him anyway.

I mean, at that point, you know you're looking at many years in prison as a child molester. Your day can't get any worse, and beating the shiat out of the guy who's just entrapped you would probably feel good.

Not that I want them to, of course. But at some point there's gonna be a guy who realizes that nobody has ever talked their way out of The Seat Over There.

Meanwhile, I did get a chuckle out of this detail:

After agreeing to let him come to her house under the premise that he would have sexual contact with her daughter for $104

I'm guessing he offered $100 and she thought, "shiat, am I supposed to haggle? Uh... no, $104! And not a penny less!"

Kind of sick you use your daughter like that. I'd feel better about the story if she had sent her daughter to a friend's house for the ordeal. You don't know if he's gonna bring a gun--or maybe some of his friends.

Actually, a similar scenario played out and lead to a long hiatus for the show. A Texas DA was implicated and killed himself.

Based on the pic in TFA, looks like the woman's male "friends" gave this sack of human barrel-scrapings the bum's rush.  Either them or the coppers did a little dance on the guy's mug.  Bravo to them.

So...how is the mother not charged with anything? It can't be legal to pimp your 5yo daughter out to a stranger even if you decide to play some kind of diddler hunting vigilante.

During a taping of the show Cheaters, he host and camera crew and jaded girlfriend rode out on a boat to find the cheating boyfriend and his mistress.  The guy got all pissed off and stabbed the host and they got it all on tape..

No, probably not, but prosecutors don't have to charge everyone with every conceivable crime. Having good intentions might not make you legally bulletproof, but it can affect who wants to shoot at you.

I seem to recall one guy didn't show up, so they showed up at his house. He claimed he was just talking online and had no intentions of meeting up, but he lost his job and killed himself, Dateline was sued. Or did I make that up? Either way, this turned out surprisingly well I thought

A lot of the guys on that show have The Brain Damage.  There are a disproportionate number of brain surgery scars showing on the predator perps.  I wouldn't be at all surprised if some of those guys don't even comprehend that what they're doing is wrong.

I wonder if two undercover sting operations ever tried to set each other up.  One posing as some guy looking for underage nookie, and the other posing as someone selling time with their kid.

5 years old?! Farking 5?! Pelican Bay, 20 years, general population, crime stitched on clothes.

I'm 28 and think most 19 year olds look too young nowadays. Farking 5?!

It's West Virginia. Under common law there you can sell your daughter for sex as long as it's under a certain amount ($105?). That way people who commit good old fashioned incest won't be treated like common criminals.

2014-07-14 07:31:22 PM
I'm pretty sure everyone involved in the story would be considered legally mentally retarded if tested.

Sure, but try and tell people that you're not technically a pedophile if you like 15 year olds, and everybody assumes you're a pervert

Yep. They got sued and settled for a 9 figure amount (rumored to be $150 mil). And I am okay with that; entertainment and justice should never mix.

Also, woman is plain retarded to play vigilante.

That beating would be worth money to Chris Hanson. Not because of a lawsuit. Because of ratings.

Chris Hanson would gladly take a partial beating (soon interrupted by the whole police department) in order to get the most watched version of his show ever.

I suspect first that the reveal knocks the pins out from under them.  It's almost the last thing they expect and they aren't thinking fast enough on their feet to think it though.  IIRC, they would occasionally get someone who would run.  I'd guess most of them who think fast enough would rather try and get away.

The other thought that comes to mind is that there is a reason that these creeps prey on small children and young teens: They couldn't give a beat down to a teddy bear, so being confronted by several large men with cameras backed up by cops and they're just going to fold.

I bet the mom didn't go to the police because she wanted to let her friends get medieval on his ass. That doesn't mean she had to actually have her kid at the house though...

I wonder what the odds are that she has her own abuse trama in her history, since she was willing to go above and beyond what most people would consider reasonable.
