What's wrong with the way Angelina Jolie turned out?

2014-07-14 05:37:48 PM
I'm not sure what's wrong with the way Angelina Jolie turned out, but her dad being a right-wing crank is not anything new. In fact, I was wondering if he had quit blogging as it occurred to me recently that I hadn't seen any of his derpings linked here in some time.

jaylectricity: What's wrong with the way Angelina Jolie turned out?

Well she's a successful director, actor, producer, saved a few lives by adopting children, built a few homes in countries I haven't even heard of, founded numerous charity organizations. And she got naked in a lot of the films that formed my teenage years. Other than that she's been a total biatch.

Jon Voight is only famous because everyone can instantly identify him as a giant asshole.

The dentist?

I don't think he ever really recovered from his Midnight Cowboy experiences

/that method acting can be dangerous

2014-07-14 07:26:21 PM
Jon Voight's just pissed that he sold that '89 LeBaron... Mostly the fact that it wound up in the hands of George Costanza...

2014-07-14 08:07:13 PM
LOL!

Liberal Hollywood is (flips coin) good today!

2014-07-14 08:08:47 PM
Could it really be that much worse than some of the people ACTUALLY running the country?

emphasizing his 'heartache' over the thousands of Americans who died helping to liberate Iraq 'only for (Obama) to pull out all troops, leaving Iraq now to be taken over by the terrorists.'

Nope. That's pretty much the GOP party line.

Mugato: saved a few lives by adopting children

Because kids are put to death if they're not adopted, just like mutt dogs at the pound who don't sell after a month.

/that woman is ugly as sin; just IMHO
//my problem with her is that she is a complete AW
/thanks, now i miss my dog

You mean a staunch humanitarian and an ambassador for the US that actually takes her job seriously?  That Angelina Jolie?

/As subby eats Cheetos and beats off to his Heroes fanfic

Farking idiot.

Just shut up about topics that you clearly have no comprehension of.

If you read what he said it's really no different than stuff we've been hearing from Republican politicians for years.

Shut up and make movies, entertainer. No one cares about your uninformed political opinion.

2014-07-14 08:37:00 PM
Did she hate him for years, only to reconcile recently out of fear he was going to die soon? I always got the impression she was who she was in spite of him, rather than because of him.

"My greatest heartache is that we sacrificed thousands of American heroes liberating Iraq, only for President Obama to pull out all troops, leaving Iraq now to be taken over by the terrorists," the Oscar-winner said during the roughly six-minute speech. "What does he say about that? Nothing."

And that's why I don't belong to the right. They can't admit mistakes. War fixes anything

I'm still enjoying him in Ray Donovan. He is probably doing so well with that character because portraying that character probably isn't acting for him.

2014-07-14 08:39:42 PM
Angelina Jolie does true humanitarian work. But her dad really didn't have that much to do with raising her. Typical family values guy, that.

2014-07-14 08:42:02 PM
This isn't about his botched paternity test?

2014-07-14 08:42:29 PM
Meh. Go ahead and tell the 70-year-olds what they want to hear, Jon. And drive everybody under 50 further away from the GOP. Thank you. From the bottom of my libby-lib heart: thank you!

And how much of that was done in spite of her father. Or to spite him, even?

Amish Tech Support: And that's why I don't belong to the right. They can't admit mistakes. War fixes anything

+1

Here's the thing... they actually believe what they are doing is right. They won't admit they are wrong because they don't believe they are, and will never feel that way. Cheney, Rumsfeld, Bush Jr, Rice, and the whole lot of them will go to their graves thinking themselves as "grand orchestrators of peace and prosperity", nothing short of Jesus himself (especially since according to GWB, he was under direct orders from God to invade Iraq. Yes, seriously. How scary is that shiat, that we had a President that wanted to go to war because God said so?).

It is like that South Park episode where Cartman's friends realize that he actually believes himself to be as great as he thinks, and everyone else is delusional and crazy (the infamous fish sticks episode). You will never reach those people, and those people will never be able to understand anything outside of their tiny reality bubble. The sad thing is, we (as a country) keep electing these narcissistic asshats into office.

2014-07-14 08:58:02 PM
Yay for the sunk cost fallacy. Nothing can bring back the lives and money that were (IMO) wasted in invading and attempting to "pacify" Iraq.

2014-07-14 09:07:59 PM
Did Voight have anything to do with the way she turned out?

2014-07-14 09:10:55 PM
He choked up when talking about America, called for more patriotism and probably has more clothes made from flags than I do. Proof positive he is a Real American.

So basically he's just another shill on FOX pushing the false narrative.

Anti-war when he was draft age, never served in military, became hawk and prowar when he was older. Sounds like a perfect fit for the GOP.

"My greatest heartache is that we sacrificed thousands of American heroes liberating Iraq, only for President Obama to pull out all troops, leaving Iraq now to be taken over by the terrorists," the Oscar-winner said during the roughly six-minute speech. "What does he say about that? Nothing."

Couple things here.

First, where was Jon Voight when Bush started lying to the world in the build up to the Iraq invasion/occupation? Cheering it on? I believe he was. Ergo STFU.

Second, the timetable for withdrawal from Iraq was signed by Bush (admittedly with great reluctance and at the behest of the Iraq government at the time and the Dems and a few relatively sane Republicans)

Third, when Obama did try to get troops to stay longer I remember RW douchebags like Voight biatching about that.

"Debbie Wasserman Schultz is the gang leader for all the wrong information to our young women - convincing them that Republicans are stopping their liberties of reproduction."

Wow, there is so much wrong with that statement and I don't even know where to start because my mind is now filled with the image of DWS snapping her fingers dancing and singing...

The Dems are in gear,
Our cylinders are clickin'!
The Rethugs'll steer clear
'Cause they're busy with a chicken!

/Yes, my mind is an odd and messy place.

So Angelina Jolie turned out bad?  The UNAmbassador who adopts orphans?  Yeah, she's a farking monster, subby.  She may have been a little wild when she was young, but that's when you're supposed to be a little wild.  She grew up.  Try it.

And Jon Voigt had no part in her upbringing.  I think they've been estranged or even disowned to each other her whole life.

But Cartman actually IS as great as he thinks he is.  He is only held back and defeated by one thing; the Jews.

As for Angelina Jolie:  Say what you will about John Voight, but her tits turned out INCREDIBLE.  Forget about jokes about "Man, I'd give anything to disappoint her in bed for two minutes."  I'd just like to play with those boobs for a while.

Angelina has undergone double mastectomy; gene markers for breast cancer run strong in her family.  Her mother died aged 56 from ovarian cancer, as well.

Degenz: Is it just me, or has anyone else notice that the bulk of recent, stoopid right wing commentary always beings with "here's an idea?"

"Here's an idea" is the rhetorical equivalent to "hold my beer". It means an ignorant fool is about to attempt a feat of knowledge and understanding far beyond his ability, and is going to fail spectacularly.

You see it more often from the right wing ever since they became so proud of their own ignorance and failures.

"In spite" of or "in honor" of ... either way is "because of". I'm sure there's a better way to say this.
