'A photograph released by the agency shows a person using two hands to hold a single snail.'

Thank god they didn't actually show the picture- that might have actually made the article interesting and nobody wants that.

The snails were incinerated with butter and garlic.

This is actually really crazy news. Those things would F the west coast up. Honestly, who ships giant african snails for human consumption. Sounds like the Fish and Wildlife Management's armed and dangerous squad will be visiting the importers and contacting the exporters.

Thank Cthulhu they caught them. The Giant African Snail is incredibly destructive, spreads faster than a coked-up strippers legs and is almost impossible to eradicate once it gets settled in.

"Officials say the snails were disposed of through incineration."

A chorus of tiny high pitched screams were heard at the time.

You wouldn't want to eat theses particular snails. They can carry a pretty nasty strain of meningitis.
Southern Florida has been trying to eradicate them for a while, now.  (youtube, sfw)

People will keep anything as a "pet". I bet there are people that have pet worms and crickets.

A photograph released by the agency shows a person using two hands to hold a single snail.

But we are not going to show it in the article because it's a secret.
