No, no, Wild Thins are Wheat Thins that are locally sourced and shipped directly to your grocer the day they're picked.

I thought these things were all about expressing yourselves. What, it's not just an eternal party?

Nothing personal, Hardin. But I can just see thousands of young people standing around in the desert, after spending a hundreds of dollars to make the trip, biatching about their student loans and how they'll never get them paid off. Then posting the awesomeness of the guy burning himself up on their Facebook with their new iDevice.

You left out the part where we were eating crackers like we owned the place.

See what happens?

It's not even Burning Man. It's just another damn hipster party in the desert.

It's a registered Burning Man Regional event. I about to attend one on Thursday that has 2700 attendees. I very rarely see hipsters at these events.

Ahhh. Yes. Regionals. It determines who enters the next round robin. Hence why Smokey had to mark it a 0.

They'll make t-shirts about it next year.

I've never seen custom shirts at events other than the BOD and volunteer staff shirts.  Do you know of other shirts that are made?

I don't know of a shirt that isn't made

On the playa we practice the radical act of shirt gifting.  If you need a shirt, take a shirt.  If you have a shirt, leave a shirt.  Out in the default world, people exchange money for goods and services.  In the Real World, on the playa, shirts are radically gifted.

Does this subvert your whitebread corporate shirt-exchanged-for-currency paradigm?

Fark your burn.  I'm sure you are not a burner so that doesn't matter.  Either way, fark you burn and your day.

You're not being radically inclusive.

You were there?  No snark, real question.

Here's a bunch of eyewitness accounts/reactions

From the accounts...

Burner Erik: This event was 18 and up only. The image of his hand reaching up will be with me for the rest of my life. Witnessing this will forever change how i view the frailty of life. The event paused for a hour or so after this occurred before slowly continuing on. I personally dedicated my entire 3 hour dj set to all of my fellow burners there and to the camp that is returning home with one less brother to call upon.

Statements like that are the reason I wouldn't cross the street to piss in the face of a 'burner' if they were on fire.

I'll say it this way, if you decide to get on a motorcycle and get in a wreck while racing, well, you had it coming.  If the event goes on after your crash, well, I wouldn't cross the street to piss on another racer's face if their vehicle was on fire.

Actually, Burners don't really care if you understand what it's like or not. If you are interested, welcome. If not, do whatever it is you like.

A True Burner will tell you that they don't care what you think about them because they want you to think about them as the kind of people who don't care what you think about them.

Think about that.

I choose to decommodify that which seeks to commodify me by participating in the radical self-reliance of riding a bike with lights all over it.
