Armadillos aren't invincible, of course, and cold weather will eventually check their spread.

Their kryptonite appears to be four lane highways.

WeenerGord: CJHardin: Bring it on!

/For some reason, when I was a kid, I attempted to go meet one of these cute rolley polley animals.  I guess I thought it may just roll up into a ball if I got close.  Nope, ran at me like a possum on meth.  Fark armadillos.

/Yes I realize how stupid I was.

Are they good eatin?

Yes, in fact they are.  I've had it on 2 occasions and both times it was pretty good.  Gutted and cooked in it's shell.  Mostly white meat, of course it's gamey, but no more than rabbit.  Great on the grill with some spicy BBQ sauce.

BlackMtnMan: Pardon me, but do you have any Grey Poupon?

But of course.... ***Rolls window up, "onward Jeeves", drives off running over another armadillo, stops, backs up, window rolls down, picks up armadillo, rolls window back up, "onward Jeeves."

Wait so if this is a natural migration how is it an invasive species? If the 'dillos were let loose then I'd be rooting the invasive species flag but they sound like coyotes, adaptable and opportunistic.

I for one would welcome our new armored overlords, if they would make their way west to California.
