DFWP regulations generally allow people with drugs in their system to go into treatment so that they can keep their jobs. However they require that people who bring illegal drugs to the workplace be relieved of duty and in most cases fired.

But of course since he is an attorney he will weasel out of it. He already tried to bribe his way out of it.

I say fire him, there are plenty of attorneys who won't bring pot to the office who would be happy to take the job. If that is not reason enough you expect your attorney to use reasonable judgment, obviously this clown can't.

What an idiot. I expect any attorney who represents me (or my city) to at least be cagey enough not to get caught breaking the law/regulations or creative enough to come up with a plausible story which will get him out of trouble otherwise. What kind of lame attorney admits guilt and then tries to come up with his own penalty? If he isn't willing to go all out to defend himself, then why would I hire him?

And Farmer Bobs Cornfields to the southwest about 4 hours!! Give or take!! This message brought to you by Captain Liberalshiatforbrainsrepublitard!!!

It's not like the first day of weed sales was planned out a year or so in advance or anything. Why not just take a personal day and get the glory and attention that comes with being one of the first people there without the trouble of bringing your weed into a federal building?

Didn't another lawyer lose his job for doing that?

The voters chose poorly. City attorneys around here are appointed, not elected. Only our DA runs for office.

I'll be eager to see the results of our next legalization referendum, given the success of our northern neighbors. Next time I get some disposable cash, I fully intend to head across the river to Vancouver.

If this were a hypocritical douchebag who pounded the electorate with unreasonable pot sentences I would call him out. But since this guy has been a supporter of the measure from the beginning and has refused to hear small possession cases I will echo his own behavior and give him a pass. Thanks Pete.

I'd say a little AW'ing as well as weed that can be smelled even when in a pocket.

If HSBC can launder drug money without a single prosecution, this guy should be able to get high while he's at work and still get a raise.

I didn't hear about a lawyer, but some poor security schmuck got sacked when someone at one of his accounts saw him on the news and got him pulled in for a random.

Submitter here and mods delightfully chopped off the 2nd half of my headline which was 'you should be out driving drunk killing innocent families of 5 on the highway driving drunk' or something similar, misusing 'drunk' twice

Charlie has the honey badger approach to mayor-ness.  Charlie-badger don't give a fark.  Give him taxes and he's all about it.  Build a streetcar with the tax revenue.  That'll make Charlie-badger give a shiat.
