Eh.   I enjoyed the X-Files all the way to the end.  Sure it was down-hill after season 6, but it was still pretty good.

I would point out the obvious, if you want to stay active in Hollywood, then you better stay active IN Hollywood.

Just recently re-watched Wetwired from, I think, season three.  She had much more range as an actress than given credit for.  She goes slowly unhinged in that episode and her performance is terrific.

This.

The English actors that want to make it in Hollywood move to Hollywood, she did the opposite.

Too bad she had severe bi-polar disorder. Quite the ride, but eventually you need to get off the coaster.

She's done some really good work on British TV. Much better than the X Files. The money might not have been as good, but her acting is much improved.

Just recently re-watched Wetwired from, I think, season three.  She had much more range as an actress than given credit for.  She goes slowly unhinged in that episode and her performance is terrific.

I never caught the X-Files when it originally aired.  Does it hold up well enough to watch it now?  It appears to be on Netflix streaming.

It holds up. I'm actually going through it on Netflix now starting from the beginning. I appreciate it on different levels now than I did watching it as a teen when it aired. It's almost a pulp noir serial with supernatural elements. Check it out at night in bed, you shouldn't be disappointed.

She screwed up big-time by turning down the role of Lady Crawley on Downton Abbey.

I know she was worried about being typecast, but she's already typecast!

You think that's crazy? Julia Stiles was 21 when she played a high-ranking CIA field agent in "The Bourne Identity".

Well enough.  Until technology enters the picture.  Strategising on over-head projectors, giant cellphones, etc.  It just sticks out enough to ruin the immersion.

She spent some time there as a youth, I remember seeing pictures of her as a angsty teen punk. Ripped fishnet stockings and vampire mascara, I would assume her time spent there influenced he decision to move back.

That and dual citizenship. When she moved back, it was almost impossible for American actors to work on TV in the UK.  Go back and watch the first few series of Doctor Who after they brought it back and you'll see some shocking "American" accents.  So she (and John Barrowman) filled a niche.

Now?  They let anyone in, as they're realizing that UK actors have no trouble getting work overseas (ie, in America).

I tried watching that.  I couldn't get past the second episode it was so dull and her acting was more wooden than for Scully.  Besides that, her accent made me giggle.

British TV pays a lot less than American TV.

She just needs to, you know, go out, get a message, maybe throw in a nice pedicure and hit Nordstrom for brand new power Pantsuit.

Also, I have never seen anyone post a comment on one of Concactmusic's article. Their like some AP anonymous music bulletin board, very weird.

I don't think the giant cell phones or picture slide projectors take away from The X-Files, since it was part of the time period. The series holds up pretty well, really. I don't know if their acting improves after the first few episodes, or if you just get used to it, but either way after a bit you don't notice it. For me, the series ends when *****spoilers**** Mulder find's his sister for real. You know what I'm talking about. The one with the guy who liked to photograph children and the Moby music playing. I could be more specific, but I don't want to put anymore spoilers in a post.

Yeah, big mistake. That would have finally broken the " hey, it's the X-Files chick" reaction from everyone.
