Why not?

If stroking one out will help them relax then maybe they wouldn't be so hostile.

Perhaps surprisingly, anger was not associated with any risk of increased stroke.

What's the difference between anger and feeling hostile?

The research in Stroke, a journal of the American Heart Association

I feel like there needs to be a trademark lawsuit regarding this out there somewhere. Larry Flynt, step up.

This is why we refer to a stroke as "blowing a gasket", or similar phrases. We all just sort of KNEW that the people who were having strokes more often were the aggressive, hotheaded types who you just believed would stroke out simply because of the way they behaved prior to their stroke.

When, where, and why you get angry.

You can also be hostile without being overtly angry.

So...my anger will kill me, but my farting will save me? I'm beginning to appreciate the moron point of view. I should pro-vax climate change now in case Jesus arrives on a dinosaur.

So, according ot this study, half of Farkers will be dead by the age of 50?

My dad started doing the word salad thing once.  Was one of the scariest moments of my life.

He had been having bad headaches for a couple of days, then he woke up from a nap and just started talking gibberish.  He was very annoyed that we couldn't understand the gibberish.  Tried having him write, that was also gibberish.

He waved us off and went back to sleep.  Needless to say, I didn't sleep well, but he was out like a light.  Woke up the next morning, and he was fine. I showed him what he had written and he almost shiat himself.

So, anyway, afterwards I read online that migraines can cause aphasia.  Also, that stokes can cause migraines.  So, uh, well, crap.

It sounds a lot like he was sleep walking.

I really doubt it. Now that they may overexert their daily pilings of living until the levee breaks, that is simply a statistical anomaly, but if there is this kind of correlation detectable in their study group then it is even more likelier that this is a commonly used defense by more animals than just humans, and there may be deep bile-lodgical importance or death defying adaptations present in the behavior.
