SilentStrider: hasn't this happened on Law & Order?

And NCIS.

And Bones.

And Rizzoli & Isles.

And The Closer.

And Major Crimes.

And Castle.

And The Mentalist.

And every other cop show over the last decade.

Maybe a hip replacement or two just for variety's sake.

Came to post this, but your list is more impressive.

Identitying someone via a medical implant is pretty old school.

I was about to comment about hasn't this been done on every crime show on television already?  Apparently, I wasn't the only one to notice.

What's so disturbing about her teeth? Is it that they are neon white? Did I get it right?

Given the evidence on most 21st century skeletons of debilitating obesity, I can only assume the silicone bags were placed on the body after death as a wobbly offering to the God of Lard.

We've had silicone bag implants for fifty years. Somewhere early on they started putting serial numbers on them.

I know, it's almost like identifying people by medical implants and alterations like dental work, hip replacements, breast implants has been standard in forensic science for almost a century, or something.

Yeah, and not just the breast implants either. Any and all FDA-approved implants have a serial number, and the serial number you get when it gets stuck into you gets stuck on your permanent medical records. And you can guarantee that those serial numbers are reverse-lookup capable.

Dental print implants are actually rather unreliable, as dental prints can change over time(Teeth grinding just being one way they can). But a serial number on a chunk of titanium in your hip, or on a silicon or saline bag in your titsling, that tends to stick with you forever.

Right now there is some Farker out there trying to figure out how to use this on his wife.

Honey, have you seen all those stories about people dying in ways that their bodies become unidentifiable? If that ever happened to you I would not be able to go on until somehow I was able to know for sure I had found you so when I pass I can lay next to you for eternity.

Well look at this story.

Do you think the serial numbers are printed larger on the bigger ones?

2014-07-11 08:40:57 AM
This Happened in goodfellas related stuff, so this is a repeat from the 1970's.

2014-07-11 09:08:46 AM
Not that I'd ever disfigure my body with implants, but the serial numbers are a great idea for just this awful reason.
