Diocletian's Last Cabbage: laulaja: Crrawwl again to TempThreadsEnd to Type, sted of sumwhere in the middle.
The Green Intern, tip #1 for you without a/c is box fans.  By their nature, safe to use with cats present.  Even if you must buy new, not all that pricey.  Do look also at places like GoodWill & St Vincent dePaul; they're occasionally consigned as donations for tax porpoises.
Zizzowop, if I may have few more moments, may think of summat for your Siamesy with white nose blaze & goggie trying to hide in background. Mildly Surprised DLC hasn't done it already --[i.imgur.com image 314x328]

As for yer pic request, will this do?...

Those are REAL (not photoshopped). I had to check to find out for sure. The Oleander Hawk Moth eats the nectar from the deadly Oleander plant (to which it's obviously immune...).

Ha ha thanks!  Just one shrub in my yard here in RI.  Mom got it for me years ago and I put no thought into where I planted it.  Just tossed it in the yard.... Its clearly VERY happy and producing like mad!  Must have netting of course, else we'd get no berries and the birds'd be fat fat....  the Mister made a contraption outta PVC piping to hold the netting and allows harvest access... worked well...

the mister just got home and is excited to make his blueberry cake (yep, he cooks too!)

CAT-LIKE TYPING DETECTED: Orange has a Vet, now..!   =)

*remarkably good luck*

That's some mighty fine Orlog you must have there, my friend. That stuff comes in handy when you need luck! YAY!!! for City Vets and Orange and misdialing!

ProcrastinationStation: Just back in from blueberry harvest....  I got  4 POUNDS of blueberries!!  AND the damn bush has about 1.5 trillion non-ripe berries gearing up for the next go 'round.  One 6' blueberry bush is giving us more berries than we can handle!

I think its time to learn how to make jam....

Also, went to Farmer's Market today.. met adult male Berner there...  CANNOT believe that is my future!  Was too busy talking to his humans and asking questions to get a pic of big 'n little together.  Cooper was so teeeny next to this guy!  OMG.

Happy to see  Sherpa finally on the move....

Was Cooper impressed by his future self? That had to be too adorable.

Do not furget the pineapple chunks in real juice and coconut milk. You can freeze the pineapple chunks, save the juice and then toss together some kickin' Pina Coladas later with the juice and coconut milk, plenty of rum and then blended/thickened with the frozen pineapple chunks. I make mine super thick - like ice cream - and they are delicious. (I also add a bit of vanilla bean paste and a pinch of salt to mine to enhance the flavor).

ProcrastinationStation: Just back in from blueberry harvest....  I got  4 POUNDS of blueberries!!

I acquired about 10 lbs today.

Place in large pot with just a bit of water but not much (2-3 inches at the bottom only - not all the way to cover the berries), bring to a boil, squash with potato masher (the old-fashioned metal kind, the plastic ones just skate over the top of the berries). Let cool. Strain thru a fine-screen strainer to get most of the skins out of the juice.

Strain again thru cheesecloth. You will be AMAZED at the amount of teeny-tiny seeds you strain out.

You now have pure blueberry juice. follow the directions on sure-jell or other pectin package re: sugaring and canning.

When I'm heating up the juice to follow the jam recipe, sometimes I add a couple of teaballs or a cheesecloth package of mulling spices (allspice, cinnamon, cloves) to make mulled blueberry jam. oh YUM, it's one of the most popular office gift exchange items ever.

Also, fill one jar with fresh, ripe blueberries. Cover with rum, vodka, or other adult beverage of choice. Put the jar in the fridge for a few days, then start enjoying berry bombs. The longer you leave 'em, the stronger they get... I have a quart jar of blackberries that's been marinating for over three years at this point and is only half-empty... each berry is like taking a shot.

Somehow, I don't think that the VERY manly Sherpa18 is into Pina Coladas, but that sounds really good to me!!! :D However, if I drank something really sweet, I would never eat dinner, and would have a hideous hangover.

Furrgot 2 summat elses oughta have researched/taken care of earlier, but Quite Pleased to find 2d one.
One of very veteran Buckeye Belles (1961-2011 OH women ham radio gp) died in Apr in NH where she'd lived with her son & his family for 8 yrs.  She lived in Middletown OH, bit N of Zinzinnati, before that.  Her church & PAWS Adoption Ctr Inc (yes a no-kill non-profit shelter!) were named in obit.  Memorial svc'll be in M'town Aug 9; have queried church re time.  Not as far as Dayton; I still owe both church & PAWS for her on behalf of Belles.

Dang!  And I thought I had a bumper crop!  Still, rather impressive haul for just one bush that I carelessly tossed in the yard about 8 years ago... Im pleased.

OHH Berry Bombs!  Like the sound of that!  Will have to give that a whirl.

have made applesauce and canned some stuff - never made jam/jelly.  Will see what I have left over after the mister makes his super yum blueberry cake (it calls for a LOT of berries).  Will also have future harvests off this bush in another week or so...

RWDA- was so cute to see Cooper with his future self!  I CANNOT believe I didn't take a pic!  Phone was in my back pocket too!  Was too absorbed asking questions to the owners.....  Perhaps next week we will run into them again... I'll be ready then!

Also loving the idea of the frozen pineapples in the pina coladas... (that you, RWDA?)....  I do love me a fluffy beverage....

;)
And a repeat Buster, but I think its just too darn cute not to keep sharing..
