And I sooooo fergot to say..

Orange has a Vet, now..!   =)

And, Bast be praised, got lucky again..!!

Let me explain..  I was trying to call the Vet I know..  That Vet is apparently the County Vet..  I ended up mistakenly calling the City Vet..  (not a bad thing)..  Seems that..well, let me play with numbers..  If you go to the County Vet, you pay a $50 visit fee, plus whatever else is needed (amount listed just fer explanation purposes)..  If you go back, you pay that same visit fee, plus whatever else is needed..  Over and over and over..

With the City Vet Hosp..you pay the visit fee the first time..  And that's it..  No other costs other than meds and treatment..  For one year..  After that year, you pay for *one* visit fee..and nothing fer another year of visits..

Orange goes in Sat, the 19th at 11:30am fer his intake and diagnoses visit..  My kitty finally has a doctor..!

Vet talked with me fer just over half-an-hour (I *like* this place) and basically said:  If Orange is eating and drinking normally (he is) and not complaining and using the litterbox (he is), don't worry..  Worry when he *stops* eating, et all..  We'll figger it out when he gets in here..  Oh, and btw..screw scheduling..if he takes a sudden turn fer the worse..get him here, STAT..!

I should add that, when he got up..demanding food and down from the bed..he was hobbling badly, again..  I'm really leaning towards fracture or mega-severe sprain that tightens up when he sleeps fer a long time..  Vet agreed was reasonable thought and sounded like not an illness..  *fingers crosssed*

Here's the little monster with a full belly..  ;)

Oh, wow! The lure of feral kittens outside the window is so great that Gogh Beastie was sitting on my laptop stand between my phones and my laptop (which has my mom's camera's SD card in a reader plugged into it right now) looking out the window and Earl was sitting on the window sill right in front of him and looking out the window - at the SAME TIME and mere inches apart! They sat like that for a good two, maybe three minutes with no hissing or growling or freaking out. Earl usually growls menacingly, burns out/gets sideways and dives under the bed (and then growls and hisses more) if Gogh Beastie even sets paw in the room. Either the Children of Hisss! are entertaining even to adult cats and the desire to watch them overruled the desire to scramble around in place with her claws out while screaming like she's being murdered until she is DEAD, or Earl didn't notice Gogh Beastie had come up behind and slightly above her and was staring outside too. When she noticed Gogh behind her, she must have thought it best to simply slink away under the bed rather than have the type of spaz attack she usually has when Gogh manages to sit next to or behind her. Those are highly amusing spaz attacks, but if Earl had decided to have one where they were sitting just now, it would have been like the electronics apocalypse with all the stuff I have on that stand right now. Especially since there's a glass of iced tea nearby, and you KNOW that would have went flying. lol!

I hope this just means mah girl Earl is starting to chill out toward mah boy Gogh Beastie just a little bit. That would be nice.

I just thought of something else. Maybe Earl climbed up there from the floor AFTER Gogh was already on the laptop stand! That would be even better than "nice". That would tell me she KNOWS he's not going to hurt her but that she's just still not 100% about him yet. That would be so awesome if she was doing stuff like that already! :-D

The Sherpa and the Yack truck left for 'thataway' this morning. I would have posted sooner but I was whacked with a sleepy stick right after he left and went back to bed for a few hours. He was well rested and in great spirits. We all agreed the extra day is just what was needed. Truthfully, he would have been welcome to stay for as long as he wished.

the story I read with those pictures said the coyote was rabid, had to be put down and the girl was now doing the shots for the rabies exposure.

Nope, they killed it to check and tests showed the pup didn't have rabies. Probably something like distemper or canine flu. Or just a vet who didn't trust normal wild animal behavior as normal.

Nexxi: I walked out on the deck and noticed Alice laying under the japanese maple.  Then I noticed what she was playing with.  I ran down the steps as fast as my gimpy leg would let me and snatched it away.  The only injury I could find was the little mark by its eye, so playtime must have been just beginning.  I had to run back up the steps and through the house (dodging my mom who freaked out about bringing a "wild" animal into the house) and out the front to release the little guy in the woods out front while Alice was still in the back.  Poor thing had a tick on its ear but I couldn't get it off, and figured I'd better let him go before he died of fright.

The Green Intern, tip #1 for you without a/c is box fans.  By their nature, safe to use with cats present.  Even if you must buy new, not all that pricey.  Do look also at places like GoodWill & St Vincent dePaul; they're occasionally consigned as donations for tax porpoises.
Zizzowop, if I may have few more moments, may think of summat for your Siamesy with white nose blaze & goggie trying to hide in background. Mildly Surprised DLC hasn't done it already --

Regret not feline.  These grow in profusion this week around here along streetsides. Not a-tall sure of species, not botanist.
USMule just arove with box (not one urgently wished for, yet), bills (never wished for but must be paid, unlike all but select begs) & mid-June note from our old friend AJ, TIDTMC, still in Durance Vile in Rawlins WY.  He sez (edited but not a lot):
June 16, 2014
Hello again everybody. I write this near middle of June, time flies by.  I finished writing & mailed my "appeal" last Mon. Not really "appeal"  but all reasons why there should  be one. Motion pursuant to WY Rules of Appellate Procedure Rule 21, "Motion to remand for hearing on ineffective assistance of council claim."  Finished just few minutes before mailing. Been working on last few months; recently figured out Rule 21 "the thing" in my case. Page each for included "Order" & "Motion" & 48 pages for "Affidavit in Support of" = 50 pages single spaced text, hardly any margins to Supreme Ct on THE day it was due. Yay! Now I can breathe a moment, wanted to get back to all out there & say "Hello"
Got my player, "MaxxPro4" from "AMP'D", mp3 player & email device. Now I can send & receive emails thru website. You can go there & create.mostly free account to exchange email with me. Small cost, ~$.15 per message. If cost an issue, we can work it out. But please do at least create an account so I can email with you.  Website is here . Talked with my Mom & Ann, they've gone there & emailed me.
Have lot more to say & tell you of.  (He printed my adrs info & e-drs, mis-typed phone # which may be why his calls haven't come thru as they used to.) Keep this short to print on half page as not much remains in my printing account now. Used up nearly all pages I had on account for appeal, & commissary is couple days away adding more.  Hope all's good with you, look forward to hearing from you.
Regards, A.J. aka  Anthony Teel (tried to type in adrs but discarded as malformed; pls request it from me direct!EIP)

Not sure yer tack on this..

I rather *like* the can design..  I'd be more inclined to buy that..based on sight only..than a can of 9Lives or Friskie's..

Are you saying same..or opposite..?

Hmm..

And now I see the top-captions..  Duck..Kitten..  Is one food and one food fer..?  I think that's more the Copy/Ad Departments prob, rather than cat-owner outreach..  ;)

That's awesome. The worst of Sherpa's trip is definitely over (unless QJ had hushpuppies last night.)
PA is a gorgeous state but it's not fun for those driving marginally powered trucks. Maneuvering that thing through the winding mountain roads after spending a day packing it could not have been a good experience. Sherpa looked like he was ready to pop out of his skull when he arrived.

When he left this morning he looked great. Once he hit I70 (which is about 20-30 miles south of us) it should be mostly flat straight highway to your place. I do wish he has a uneventful journey.

Not many wild turkeys in Bung&Turd, NY.  TONS of them around my Dad's place, about 30 minutes east of here.  Mountain and thick forrest area, the turkeys like to congragate on the valley floor below my Dad's house.  Hear them calling and gobbling to each about everyday when I house sit over there.

Deer and turkey populations keep skyrocketting over here, will either be a hunter's dream or a rabies nightmare soon.

2014-07-12 03:30:21 PM
I have to add a funny to the turkeys. There was a wild turkey that lived in our local park and was very, very friendly to cars that stopped at the intersection.
Multiple times i moved him from the middle of the intersection.

Not him, but scanner listening another turkey was causing an issue last year at a major intersection by us. The poor policeman who was shadowed  by the Sherrif's office who stopped traffic so the local guy could deal with a (mean) turkey and get it out of traffic was screamingly funny.

An hour later a call was placed to the same poor cop to remove a turkey from traffic. He sounded very fustrated and requested using his firearm. He was refused ( by the dispatcher who was laughing her head off). The sherrif's office (since this was blocking traffic)  asked for their people to take care of matters. The poor cop immediatly consented. The turkey was removed and delivered to a place 50 miles away. The sheriff was less than pleased over the resources used. my son ( we both like the guy) went to his office to donate money for the removal of the turkey.

He refused the money.requesting that it go to places (I I already support).

Re: Wolf flipping off Sherpa.
Sherpa was kneeling on the kitchen floor tossing treats to Wolf. Wolf kept moving closer and closer to Sherpa with each treat. When Wolf was about three feet away Sherpa said "See?, I'm not such a bad guy." Wolf promptly spit his treat out at Sherpa and turned around....you can't make this stuff up.

They eventually ended up being friends and Wolf was warily accepting pets and skritches.

CAT-LIKE TYPING DETECTED: kk..

Mistress Bast is being far too kind, today..  But I'm no complaining..  =)

re - $$ probs..  Called m'father..  I'd done the maths and figgered I could squeak by on $100 extra in the acc't..  This is what I asked for..  Note:  in real-life I talk as much as my posts here..  Looooong story first..point later..

My father hates this..

..so, I opened my call thusly..  "I know you don't like stories, so here's the point..details provided upon request.."

Keeping things short..call was great, he sent $$, all is gunna be just fine..  *huge sigh*   But, for those interested, the details..

I asked fer a $100 loan..dad asked why and I fully explained..he thought it all reasonable and said 'yes'..  ..and more..

He bumped it to $200 (is already in my PayPal acc't) and said "..forget the 'loan' part..  I don't need it back.."..

This is where the conversation get fun/interesting..

(btw - I post this stuff, as well as work matters, here because I have too many co-workers and family members on FB..  A lot of this would provoke a shiat-storm of Sharknado proportions, were I to toss it out in public..  Thank you ALL fer being my stress-vent relief..  =D  )

So, he tells me he's sending $200 as a buffer, and he doesn't need it back..

Says he has more money than he knows what to do with..

Follows that up by saying "I don't have all that much money..  I just have a lousy imagination.."  *LOL*   (my father has an *astounding* imagination..)

Follows *that* up by saying "It's your inheritance, anyways..doesn't bother me.."

I lurve my father..  =D

But then, things take a diff turn..

He mentions my Grandfather's pocket watch..  After my parents divorce, I held this fer a decade+..and then it was returned to Dad..  He says "You know that watch is your's, yes..?  It will be fixed as soon as I can find someone local and reliable to do the work.."

The pocket watch is a 'square' platinum-cased timepiece..  28-jewel movement..  Prolly worth $30,000+ , unfixed, today..  Crystal n ...

SOOOO glad you have experienced some good karma in the wake of all the worry recently.

Just back in from blueberry harvest....  I got  4 POUNDS of blueberries!!  AND the damn bush has about 1.5 trillion non-ripe berries gearing up for the next go 'round.  One 6' blueberry bush is giving us more berries than we can handle!

I think its time to learn how to make jam....

Also, went to Farmer's Market today.. met adult male Berner there...  CANNOT believe that is my future!  Was too busy talking to his humans and asking questions to get a pic of big 'n little together.  Cooper was so teeeny next to this guy!  OMG.

Happy to see  Sherpa finally on the move....
