Thought rat control  was meant to be part of Jangle's & Tiger's job descriptions.  Some Residents must have different opinions.  Fairly sure they'd rather rats didn't  die within the walls  tho...

Not really any credit for this, & scant chance this how rat problem began.  #9 of series of dunno how many.

of...

And TGIC !     Has been rather hot and humid here...  tonight is Food Court night at the brewery.. everybody was resigned to another rainout.... I  checked all the pertinent weather maps and went out and informed all that the rain would stop and we would have good weather, with sunshine, for the evening festivities.... we got it.... I am now the official brewery weatherdude.... the water vapor map told the tale, dry area rolled in ahead of a stalled cold front... could see it coming...  building a maintenance room in the back of the building... painting and wiring now, lighting goes in tomorrow, then the heat pump.. the fun will be moving everything into it........

Hello everyboddeee!
 ^-^
='.'=

Asking cats to hunt rodents isn't 'abuse' (at least, not from the cat's POV)...it's what they're wired for and engineered to DO.

Boyfriend-at-the-time who was living in an old house INFESTED with mice. Brought my youngest cat over to deal with the problem...Misha was a Hunter...and a damn good one (note capital letter).

Jon and I went out to get some dinner...came home about 90 minutes later to SIX former mice displayed in the living room...and a cat who was very proud of himself.
"Don't worry, Mom...I've got this! Just give me a few days and I'll have 'em cleaned out!"
He did, too.

Don't know how much I'll be around this weekend...but I'm with y'all in spirit.

Good Evening Good Folk!
Just straggled back in from SoundEffects performance at Seasons Retiremt Community, where 1st chorus Queen City rehearsed for while until too-successful Guest Night (100 guests!) that got us evicted.
My thread-opening post was definitely before  opening time, expect DLC's was too.  Regret mis-spelling Jangles, made no writ notes.

Got tale of Recent Elephant Rescue for DLC & whoever else ...
Abused Elephant Raju Sheds Tears During Rescue by Cherise Udell 7:04AM today
Raju, a 50-year old Indian elephant was finally rescued last week after a lifetime of abuse. During the rescue, when it became clear that the group of 32 people, which included ten veterinarians, were there to rescue him, big crocodile tears rolled down his leathery cheeks.
"The team was astounded to see the tears," said Pooja Binepal, a spokesman for Wildlife SOS, the wildlife rescue group that coordinated the effort.  "It was incredibly emotional. We knew in our hearts he realized he was being freed. Elephants are majestic and highly intelligent animals. We can only imagine what torture the past half a century has been for him."
Indeed, poor Raju who had been likely captured as a baby, was sold many times during his 50 years. His most recent owner cruelly chained him 24-hours a day with spiked chains, forced him to work and beat him when he did not.
During the rescue his sadistic owner tried to abort the rescue by layering tight chains and spikes on the elephant and then yelling commands to confuse Raju. Fortunately, Raju listened to his rescuers instead and soon was free.
Following his emancipation, he was taken to the Elephant Conservation and Care Center in Mathura, India. His underweight body was covered in abscesses and wounds, but he is expected to make a full recovery. Wildlife SOS is facilitating his medical care and helping to introduce him to other elephants at the center. On July 4th he took his first free steps in 50 years.
The average lifespan for elephants is 60 to 70 years, so hopefully Raju can enjoy his retirement and freedom for years to come.

I pretty sure it is just the pits that shouldn't be eaten by anyone because of the arsenic in them. It is a tiny amount, but why run the risk?

Oh, yes! Well, there is ONE tiny thing there. Lord Earl of Grey is actually LADY Earl of Grey. The view I had of her back end made it look like she was a neutered male when really it is just how her fur on her back end happens to puff in an odd manner in the right spot. Pike are a problem here in Maine. A bunch of assholes introduced them in many lakes. They aren't native and eat trout and salmon babies. There is NO limit and anglers are urged to kill every pike they catch.

HA!!! I just KNEW you would decide to keep her! Yay Pearl!!!

Hold up there, chica. She is still a candidate for a very good home that isn't mine, but I am in no rush. Lady Earl is not exactly a people cat (though she trusts me enough she lays above my head and growls in between licking her butt or my hand - whichever is nearest her) and so I'll have to be very selective or it wouldn't be fair to her or the hoomin. It's going to take a while.

I *am* in a rush with the Children of Hisss! though, because I think she's weened them in less than a week! They're all eating kibble now. I still haven't found a rescue to take them, can't afford to do the shots/spay thing for all four of them and their mom and while I did have one rescue offer to "let" me foster them until they could be adopted out (really? You'll LET me bring them in the house which I absolutely cannot do?), I've nowhere to put them in the house AND I'd still have to pay for the shots/altering. Of course it's a much cheaper rate than if I took them to the vet, but after two vet visits for two cats in ... three? four days? .... I am tapped out on my cat stuffs budget for the month.

I'm going to keep calling around tomorrow. I'm just tired beyond belief now. Gogh Beastie starts slinking in my room at night, which sets Earl off with her growling, then Gogh Beastie with his whining, so I have to get up and love on him so he doesn't feel abandoned, then come back and pet on Lady Earl so she isn't freaked out. Repeat EVERY FARKIN' HOUR! Two hours, if I'm lucky. I just can't let one cat feel sad and left out, so I'm losing a LOT of sleep. It probably bothers me more than it does them, huh? I'm going to guess "NO. You brought a monster into Gogh Beastie's house and Lady Earl is sure you're trying to feed her to a monster" so the cats are not happy either. Everyone will chill out eventually, though.

Good thing they're all super adorable and that I love them! ♥

Another terrible pic of Kitten the Brave.

Sherpa, you are not going to believe what I found at the Army/Navy Surplus store yesterday!
Did you know that they have Dehydrated/Freeze Dried Hushpuppies????
Just add a little water and they self-inflate!
Then after you eat them, they inflate some more.

They're better than that freeze dried astronaut ice cream they used to sell in the 70's.
Not a lot, but a little better.

2014-07-11 06:56:33 AM
Well, I *did* get to sleep in until 1:30 am until there was some cat drama that needed tending to. Gogh Beastie has figured out that Earl will not attack him even if he is growling, but that it will get my attention. Gogh Beastie seems to be warming up to this arrangement a bit. Not only is the door to the Super Secret Lair of Infinite Doom* always open now, but the monstrous minion that lurks above my head wakes me so I can better hear Gogh Beastie sing the song of his people and respond accordingly. Which is usually a groan, "stop it!", some reassurance that I still love him best of all cats and some gooshy fuds for all. YAY!

I just went out to give Hisss! some gooshy fuds as well - I want to start getting her a bit more chill around me so I have a better shot at handling her when I need to do so - but because it's still dark out I have to stand guard while she eats. All the local kittehs know what my sliding glass door sounds like and they come running right over because FUDS. So I'm out there on the patio with mah coffee and mah cigarette and talking nice to Hisss! so other animals stay away, when I hear something hit the top of my back fence and the shrubbery rustling. Right at that moment, as I'm turning my head to see if it's a very large raccoon, a bigfoot, a serial killer or what, the motion activated security light goes out. Hisss! and I are now helpfully backlit by the kitchen/dining room light for your predatory pleasure and can't see diddly out in that area of the yard - it's too dark. You can guess about how well we liked *that*.

25.media.tumblr.com

Hisss! is so brave, isn't she? Well, it turned out to be a very large skunk (of course) that despite all the noise I was making trying to make friends with Hisss! did not seem to know I was there. It triggered the light again, spotted us, and then Hisss! REALLY lost her shiat, because it's incredibly close to the food dish. And us. Skunk looks up and notices it's not trapped, but it does have two strangers flanking it and - well, it almost got real ugly.

Nah. I can't think of a single Caturdayian who wouldn't be trying to do right by those cats. The lurkers as well, most likely. They wouldn't be staring at us if they were soulless monsters. The politics tab is a much better train wreck with accompanying pile of corpses to dance over for that type. Our lurkers have both taste and class. They probably don't smell bad, either. :-D

I have a girl cat named Earl. That's cool though. I'll just tell people her name is Pearl "but we call her 'Earl' for short". :-D

So, the P is silent? ;-)

That's better than mine. I'm going to use it from now on. Thanks!

sherpa18: Welcome to Caturday (the sherpa moves west edition) everbuddy![i415.photobucket.com image 474x266]
I have arrived at the House of Biscuit after my expected 6 hour drive turned into about 9 (about par for the course).
I am currently sitting on yobbery's back deck, enjoying the evening and catching up on Caturday.

Thanks to all for the good wishes, and I'll do my best to keep you all updated on my progress as I continue my journey.

Pictures will have to wait, since in the approximately 3 hours I've been here, I have only seen a glimpse of Biscuit butt and had Wolf approach to within 5' of me. I just might be getting a complex  :o)

YAY!!! *happy dance* I am SO GLAD you are there! You have been missed terribly.

predle: Real Women Drink Akvavit: Bathia_Mapes: And now for your viewing enjoyment...How to bathe a Bub

YAY!!! Earl heard the crying Bub and started GLARING much harder than usual in my general direction. Gogh Beastie is indifferent to the cries of other cats getting baths (and is still only a tiny bit interested/unafraid of Earl). Too cute video!

I've been working with editing photos and wanted to see what I could with this one.

[predle576.smugmug.com image 400x317]

Thank you! I just cropped and resized and didn't even try and clean it up. I think the pics would come out much better if I'd clean the glass in that door, but it takes literally less than a day for it to get gunked up again. Lil Bro cleaned it when he was over, I cleaned it the very next day - and it's so bad again already taking a good pic through that glass is most likely impossible.

I swear it feels like every animal in a five mile radius either pounds on that door asking for food or tries to break into the house through that door to get to Gogh Beastie's food. His feeding station is *right there* where they can see it, but that really is the best place in the house for it for a variety of reasons. There's no mystery at all why animals come right up to my door.

Unless they get skunk sprayed, like someone nearly did...

I'd say TGIF, but I work 2 more night shifts, so instead, TGI-almost-C.

So we've had Sherpa rejoin the party (yay!), Earl become Pearl (but still Earl, also yay!), and someone didn't get skunked (triple yay!).  Seems like a good week thus far.

B's been busy climbing, which I think means her home is dryer than the hydrometer says.  Have to keep trying to add humidity for her, which is difficult when she lays out as long and as flat as she gets, just to make adding water a challenge.  But she's eating again, so it may just be another seasonal thing.

Now, being the typical "Eeeek! Spider!!!" *runs away dragging fainting couch behind her for later use* type, I am very unedjumakated about caring for spiders. Is there a reason it is harder to add water when she's like that? Are you not supposed to get the actual spider wet or what? Or is it you just don't want her attacking you?

I suppose that should have been "Dude, so do you mist water in there and let her lick or whatever it off any structures in the environment or does she have a little water dish type thingie?" I seriously don't know how that works because I would have died of horror by now. Good on you for caring for Miss B, btw.

Both, but she doesn't lick it off or drink water normally.  She gets all her water from food.  But because she's not very tall (maybe 3.5 inches when she raises up as tall as possible) she tends to run away when water touches her (she's covered in fine hairs for sensing, like kitteh whiskers).  So she tends to head to high ground even if only a small droplet lands on her.  Otoh, if she sees water pouring into her home (usually when I add it to her dish), she has a tendency to start to attack it, since she sees a reflection, which means "another spider in my house, get it!"  Then she inevitably touches the water, realizes that it is water, and skitters away worried about the impending flood (I guess, her thoughts aren't so obvious).  She's pretty laid back, the epitome of "oh you're here and you're leaving me alone to my devices?  Good"

She's my bug, and she's my rescued critter.  Can't have kittehs in current apartment, will make sure they are allowed in the next one.

I was in line at the grocery store yesterday and the woman in front of me had lots of kitty food and treats, so naturally I asked her how many cats she had. She didn't have any, the food was for the cat that she took care of. She told me that the owner was in assisted living and the people there had taken her cat to a shelter. The elderly lady called a taxi and went over to Dumb Friends League and got her cat back. I couldn't believe that someone would be so cruel and heartless, but I love the way the owner wouldn't let them get away with it.

If someone tried to take my cats away, this is what they'd see. I'll have to teach Morticia how to shoot, I wouldn't trust Juno or Lucy with a gun. Especially not Juno.

I think it's neat you rescued her and totally would have had a hard time being even remotely civil to her previous caretaker. Dereliction of duty is a crime for a reason and he definitely is guilty. I am not a fan of the spiders, but they don't deserve to be left like she was left. ESPECIALLY like how she was left. That bastard would be hearing about it from me for a very long time. I don't like anything over 66 degrees or under 55 or 60. I am almost always not happy with the temps. Right now it's just at 60, so I have the windows open and the front door open (we have a security screen, so we're good in here with the door open) and there's a nice breeze. I am happy with the temp and the fresh air. It will be gone in less than an hour, so I'm diggin' it while it lasts!

OMGs! I would be ENRAGED. WTF is wrong with people? If the cat was outside when it shouldn't have been, return it to the lady and tell her the cat can't be outside. If they're just cat hating douchebag bastard assholes who have NO CLUE about the very real health benefits of animal companions for the elderly, they should not be doing the assisted living gig. Not only do they lack the basic empathy and compassion that would stop a NORMAL person from taking away an old lady's cat, they are idiots. They can EABOD and DIAF for all I care at that point.

laulaja: Got tale of Recent Elephant Rescue for DLC & whoever else ...

I would wish that the rescuers were singing something like this:
(note - some lyrics may be changed to reflect critter and locality of emancipation)

Bring the good old bugle, boys, we'll sing another song
Sing it with a spirit that will start the world along
Sing it as we used to sing it, 50,000 strong
While we were marching through Georgia.

Chorus
Hurrah! Hurrah! we bring the jubilee!
Hurrah! Hurrah! the flag that makes you free!
So we sang the chorus from Atlanta to the sea
While we were marching through Georgia.

Verse 2
How the pachy shouted when he heard the joyful sound
How the chains rattled which our bolt cutter found
The owners angry squeaking could not the beast confound
While we were marching through Georgia.

Verse 3
Yes and there were pachyderms who wept with joyful tears,
When they saw their fellow beast they had not seen for years;
Hardly could they be restrained from breaking forth in cheers,
While we were marching through Georgia.

Verse 4
"Sherman's dashing Yankee boys will never reach the coast!"
So the saucy owner said and 'twas a handsome boast
Had they not forgot, alas! to reckon with the Host
While we were marching through Georgia.

Verse 5
So we made a thoroughfare for freedom and her train,
Sixty miles in latitude, three hundred to the main;
Cruelty fled before us, for resistance was in vain
While we were marching through Georgia.

Eagle Scout? Good for you. I made it to Life (plus a couple extra MBs) but succumbed to peer pressure when I got to high school--"You're a BOY scout? That's not cool!" around '72. Wish I'd stayed in and got to Eagle.

I earned mine in '72, John got his a year later. We went to Philmont back in '72 too. The people we hung with really didn't care about us being Scouts, most of us were Scouts or ex-Scouts. When I went kayaking last weekend I was within a few miles of where I used to go to Scout camp, it brought back a whole lot of memories.

...aaand speaking of which, it's time for this weeks Invention Exchange!

Friends, we all now that the key to pet independence (and thus pet happiness) is a well designed pet door.

But swinging pet doors are a security risk in this day and age, and most automatic pet doors on the market are cumbersome and expensive.  They require lots of equipement that take up a lot of space around the human door while detracting from the exterior and interior looks of the house.  Plus, who wants a dog fresh from the rainstorm to run right into your kitchen?

That's why I've come up with the Garage Dog Door.  Combining the utility of a pet entrance into the garage with the security of a steel roll-up door, a GDD would allow the best of all worlds.  Below is a GIFulation that shows how the door would work.

Pet owners; take the guess-work out of independent pet access to your home.  Order YOUR Garage Dog Door today!

Actually, VLQ Sing at Seasons last eve went well. We seem to go there 2x yr for past few. May've typed yesterday that orig chorus rehearsed there for a while til massive Guest Night w 100odd guests got us evicted.
Snuffybud & John Buck 41 re Eagle Scout: Plumbicon's late dad was one. Not sure Pl even made Life Scout, as he'd found cornet & HS band by then.  Went to Butler U Marching Band under direction of Mike Leckrone (who recently retired from U of Wisc) when invalided out of AFROTC for too-thick spex. Too nearsighted even to fly desk  They Said.
Smart dog  by garraston48 late last eve, another too-big .gif, not even allowed to go  to  online-image-editor, fooey. Re-routed to someplace selling metal screws, double fooey! See in mind's eye again pls, black dog standing before white metal cage with dark blanket on top. Dog grabs blanket, goes into cage & curls up, completely covered.
Try for gen-u-wine static pic?

Nope, you are not the only one. When they were "but the rats!" in one breath and "but the cats!" in the next I thought "PICK ONE TO LOVE, CAST YOUR VOTE THUSLY THEN STFU OR MOVE. Oh and rent is X amount, end of story." Duh.

Kinda reminded me of this one place I lived at in Monrovia about 25 years ago where there was a bug problem, but it was limited to outside unless you were a total pig. They were big-ass bugs that seemed to only come out in force at night, too. The woman next to me and the woman upstairs from me (BFFs - their "men" were both drug dealers in the same gang) were whining about the bugs AND the pesticides and how the spray was just making the bugs go in their homes. I told them I'd never seen bugs in my apartment and one of them says "If you had kids you'd see them bugs because you wouldn't be able to keep your place all like you was waitin for Robin Leech". She seriously said that to me and I had said NOTHING about her being a slob. I told her I did have a kid, but since I actually put clothes on him before letting him outside and had taught him that standing in the middle of the breezeway and screaming at the top of his lungs when he didn't get his way or knocking on strangers' doors to ask for candy or chips were inappropriate behaviors, perhaps she had mistaken him for a very short adult. "you know, he's got manners and shiat". That seemed to upset them quite a bit, because they both threatened me and yelled and stuff while I just did a white trashy *not impressed look* and "um-hmmm" *mocking head bob* at them until they went away. PROBLEM SOLVED - and all it took was a massively biatchy attitude and a complete lack of empathy and compassion on my part. 'Cuz really, it's wasted on some people anyway (the empathy and compassion, not the massively biatchy attitude). Like those dorks in NY and their "no cats or rats" stance, most likely over nothing more than the rent - which is understandable if they're going for leverage, but you really need to decide how stupid you want to look if you complain about both problem and solution and then try and act like you deserve an accommodation of any kind. I'd "um-hmmm" at them and remind them there are always people looking for a place to rent in NY. This ain't East Berlin. You may leave at any time.

That in Monrovia one of the better places I lived on my own before moving up here to NorCal, btw. I miss Los Angeles sometimes. I miss it a LOT sometimes and I've been up in SacTown for over 20 years now.

Here you guise, have a cat to make up for another of my weird stories.

Pic war nice, but not needed to make up for stories.  One of the reason I come to Caturday is to see what other folks are up to.  Also, to commisaryate with others over problems.  A problem shared is a problem solved (or at least reduced).  I pleasure shared is a pleasure amplified.

Mah mommy and mah stoopy head sismonster (and sismonster's boyfriend) went to the state fair. This means I can have WHATEVER I WANT for dinner tonight. Raley's/Bel Air has Angus Beef Top Sirloin on sale for $5.99/lb. but Sprouts has wild caught Sockeye Salmon on sale for $9.99/lb. I should just go to Food Maxx and see if they have anything that looks good. They are much cheaper. Also, I need to get more gooshy fuds if I'm going to make friends with Hisss! and her minions.

Oh man, I would be PISSED if I came home to this:

I'm going to go hunt my dinner in the wilds of the aisles of grocery stores, like a proper middle aged female suburbanite. Now I'm thinking I want a Grilled Portabella Mushroom. Maybe stuff it. There should be herbed cheese of some sort involved. Or maybe I could do a steak with a mushroom and caramelized onion stopping and simply add the flavors I would have used for the mushroom stuffing in it as well. I do not know, but I will go find out before too many people get off work and get all the good stuff.

HAPPY CATURDAY, EVERYFUZZY..!!!

Firstly, let me say, we finally have our  sherpa back..I'm not the *least* bit worried 'bout a KiloKat this Caturday weekend and won't even peep about it..  (..less'n I go with a specific themed one in honor of..  =D  )

Enjoy your weekend,  JB41..!

Congrats on progress and feel better,  vudutek..!

So glad to hear everything seemed t'go smoothly,  RWDA..  =)

Good luck with B,  DeathbyMeteor..she'll 'drink' when she's ready..  My Kate (way diff species, I know, but still..) gets like that from time to time..

And, speaking of  DbM..

Deathbymeteor: So we've had Sherpa rejoin the party (yay!), Earl become Pearl (but still Earl, also yay!), and someone didn't get skunked (triple yay!).  Seems like a good week thus far.

I've only caught up to ~9:30AM, this morn..don't know what's been posted in the past three hours..but I may, kind'a-sort'a-I dunno way..halt the run of that "thus far" qualifier..  At this point, I's really not sure..  =/

*** WARNING!  WARNING!  "NIAGARA FALLS-CLASS" WATERFALL OF TEXT AHEAD!  SCROLL NOW, SCROLL FAST, TO AVOID..!!! ***

Last Caturday I posted 'bout how Orange hadn't been home fer a couple days around the 4th..then how he did finally come back, but with a pronounced limp..and, after checking fer breaks and injury, I concluded he'd somehow been hit or fell or something similar, was acting fine, ate fine, made no pain noises, etc..and that he was just all sore and would shake it off in a few days..

He spent the next couple days exclusively in-house..almost entirely in my room..slept on my bed, slept with me when I slept, ate/behaved normal..limp wasn't getting any worse..but couldn't tell iff'n it was getting any better..  Then, he decided he felt okay enuff..went downstairs and out..  And I didn't see him for *another* day..    >.<

So now it's Thurs morn and I've just got home from work..  I go up and hunt for the light-switch ('member, I work 12-hour overnights..my room is absotively *sealed* off from light..) and hear a tiny 'mew' from in front of me..

Get the light on and Orange is lyin' on the floor next to my bed..not *on* the bed, or my chair, where he'd normally be..but the floor..  That doesn't register, as I'm just happy t'see my little warrior back up here..  Then he tries to get up to come to me and his hindquarters go full sideways..  He makes a second effort and stands..then a third and stumble-drags his way over to me..

My jaw is on the floor in shock/fear/pain as I bend down to pet him..carefully..   He still shows no signs of pain..just is only barely able to 'walk'..

I think of the day he's been gone (ridiculously strong (for here) thunderstorms) and what it must have taken to get up the stairs and down the hall in his condition..and go right for the last can of food I have for him..  Put it down in his bowl, customary place, and he makes it the few feet and dives right in (still no pain complaints)..finishes it all, then tucks himself up..Sphinx-like..on the carpet edge like there's not a single thing wrong in the world..

Well, I have several immediate thoughts about the change..and not a d@mn one of them good..  My brain ran through renal failure, liver failure, Feline Leukemia, Feline Urinary Tract Disorder, Severe Constipation/Blockage..  I've lost two cats..one to #1 and one to #2..and almost lost one to #4..

In my experience, #'s 1 and 2 are fast..hours to a day, at most..  Orange has been worsening, apparently, over the course of a week..so I move on..  #3 I know nothing about, not having had to deal with it, but I assume it is like human cancers and is a slow disease..also not the case here..  #4 I *know* is extremely painful..and Orange ain't complaining..I set that one aside..  By now, Orange has rolled over on his side and is grooming his front paws..and his a$$-end is towards me..  I go over and move his tail aside..and his starfish looks, in my dim lighting, *terribly* swollen and blackened..

Sunofabiatch..

I am already more than a half-hour past when I needed to be in bed fer work, that night..  I go back to the laptop and call up my trusted pet-med/Vet sites and start researching feline constipation..  I've been at this ~20 min when Orange gets up..manages to get to his litterbox, get in proper sitting position and leave a nice, healthy dump..

Well what the hell...

He's eating fine..he's not in obvious pain, is behaving as normally as possible..definitely not constipated..only problem is his back hips/legs..

Have no choice at this point..can't miss day's work, can't risk a write-up (diff story)..NEED to sleep..   I gently pick Orange up and place him on my bed to sleep with me..  He looks up at me, drags himself off the bed and manages to make it out my door and into the hall..and then *MEOWS*..!

Now, the upstairs is comprised of three rooms:  mine, finished and furnished..there's a storage room of equal size and opposite mine..and a verra large main room that used to be HM's son's room..'til he carved himself out a corner downstairs of the winter past..  That last room is a disaster-land that is boy's responsibility to clean (HAH..!)..but has nice big windows and soft comfy spots, ie - mattress, removable back of recliner chair and piles of clothing..and Orange claimed it as refuge quite some time ago..  Problem is, those other rooms are gated off to keep the dogs from intruding..but Orange could always jump the gate, no prob..  Until now..

I go to the hall..  Orange is looking at the gate..looks at me..back at the gate..mews..

I think "H3ll..he's going to ground.."..  =(

I wedge open the 'door' and he gets himself onto the mattress and curls up..I can hear his purr..

With a simple prayer to the Mistress, I go to bed..  Mind you, now..by the time I crawled into the sheets, I'd been up 20+ hours..on 5.5 hours sleep..and worked a 12-hour factory shift..came home..and have now, as of typing this, been awake another 20+ hours and still going..  =P

I wake up to alarms, get ready and go down to leave fer work..looking in on Orange, he's sitting up..rather, lying, with head and ears up..alert..and has moved, tho' only a foot or two..  Is gunna have to be good enuff for me, for now..  :/

So I get to work, where I get to spend the bulk of the next half-day alone with my thoughts..and all revolve around the core problems/difficulties/issues..as now presented:

- I truly have no idea what the problem is..no visible injury..no obvious pain..apparent anal swelling/discoloration..rapid deterioration regarding use of hindquarters..no apparent mood/appetite change..and if I can do *anything* at all, I can't do it until I get home from work..16 hours after I last saw him and the start of my weekend..
- I truly cannot  afford to do anything..  When I left for work, I literally had $0.34 in my bank account..  Now, sometime around 4am last nite, my last week's paycheck hit my account..but, due to Holiday Plant shutdown, that paycheck is fer one 12-hour day and 8 hours Holiday pay..  Amount that hit the bank..?  $166.00  And $30 of that will come out t'day in an auto bill-pay fer debt repayment..so, I has'ta make $136 work fer a household of three, for a week..  Oh, and it costs me $10/day in gas to get to/from work..so take off another $30..and another $10-15 if I want to eat while working..now we're down to $91 fer the next five-six days fer everything/anything..food included..  Live paycheck-to-paycheck, atm..and this is gunna suck..even were Orange in perfect health..
- Only Vet I'm familiar with, out here, is yet another $10-gas 'round trip in the opposite direction, with a $50 office/visit fee..  Gunna try and catch our Mail Carrier (Local Cat-Lady I've mentioned afore, who lives all of a 2-min walk from my front door..) and ask who/what she uses fer any Vet services..mind, depends on when she gets home fer the day..can be late..and I won't be up *all* that much longer..

That all said, now I'm driving home..I've come up with no answers..I'm honestly sitting on the edge of "be better, or be over.."..  I've done this dance five times afore..and each of those I had much more resources available..  I literally have nothing to work with, now..  Be better or be beyond suffering..    Would rather have turned around and done another shift..and another..and another..than finish that drive..

..but, I do a *LOT* of shiate I hate..because I have to and it's what I do..  I get home..unload the car..my work stuff and some basics I picked up afore leaving town (further reducing available $$)..takes three trips..one fer my werk stuffs, one fer purchases (fragile..bouncing, happy, Black Labs..must be careful..heh..) and one fer non-fragile purchases..  Get everything inside and go out to check the mail..  I'm the *only* one who ever checks the mail..wait a month, and I'll find a month's worth in there..  So, grab the mail..walk back up on the porch..drop a letter and stoop to pick it up..

..and hear *Mew!*..

D@mn near fracture my spine bolting upright..  On my right is an overstuffed recliner..one the top of the backrest (his fave porch spot) is Orange..around/on the chair and between both of us are all sorts of building supplies..windows..whatever..  The only way up there was to *jump*..  And even that aside from the fact that he obviously came down to go out and spent the night outside..  *blinkblinks*

L'il bastard watched me go back-and-forth past him *three* times without saying a thing..!

I simply don't know what to think..  Orange looks at me and says *mew* again..then stands up (!)  jumps down to the arm of the chair (!) then jumps down to the deck (!)..   At this point, Young Lab comes to interfere, as usual, and Orange dashes (!) past him and bolts upstairs (!!)

I get things organized quickly and head up to my room..where Orange is waiting, yowling and nosing his food-dish around..    0_o

Okay, okay..!  =)

I get one of the cans o'food I got outt'a the bag (I honestly thought it might be that I'd be burying one with him, t'day..)..and he digs into it..  Finishes, comes over and curls up at my feet..he'd eyed my lap, but he and I both know how often he gets spaghetti-limp and just slides off..heh

All his movement to this point has been no worse than the first night I noticed the limp..arguably better, in fact..

I now took the opportunity to dig out an LED flashlight and approached the butt of the orange-one..and *immediately* realized that what I thought was a swollen anus was just his pushed-back (from the way he'd been laying) harbles..and the blackening/discoloration had just been dirt or mud from the recent storms (his harbs were now clean..but the darkened coloration was visible still on the upper base of the tail..no doubt..dirt..)..

Just afore I started catching up on the thread..and then, this post..he got up, walked to the back room (I really think he could've jumped the gate, iff'n it weren't still wedged open) and gone to curl up in a sunbeam on the recliner-back cushion..  That was, oh, four hours ago,,??  (I've been doing a lot between him, reading, posting, etc..etc..etc..  Is Friday..operative word "Day"..  I have a limited window to get things done on my one weekday off..  *lol*)

I took a pic of him earlier..included below..and he's still there..alert, comfortable, watching the world out the window..

I don't know what to think now..

Any of you know, have friends who are, or are a Vet yerself that would be willing to  gratis bounce some questions back'n'forth about what might be goin' on, here..?

I am *thrilled* he's here and better..regardless what room he chooses, atm..  I just want to know this bounce up isn't gunn'a be followed by another bounce down..rinse, repeat..  I can't even begin to do anything, Vet-wise, until next Fri (4-day (48+ hour) paycheck)..

Four-day work weeks are stressful/draining enuff, when things are going *well*..!

Gunna go back and look at the thread, catch up..get a couple things done up here, then crash..  Will try calling Orange..would like him up on the bed..but, won't try to hard..  Iff'n he's comfortable where he is, is better fer his healing/well-being..

Here's the pic I took..  That piece of wood by his butt is something he dragged up to play with..wasn't there an hour earlier..  Ignore any background mess/bleed-in..  I already said this was a teen's room..  Total disaster, if yer a hooman..  *LOL*

BizarreMan: I hate to interrupt the cat love.  But am I the only one who thought the most interesting part of the story wasn't really discussed?  That the tenants who complain about the rats and the cats are in the middle of rent negotiations?

I would think that the tenants who complain are using the fact that there are rats in an effort to reduce the rent that they pay.  At least one tenant does not like seeing cats roaming the halls.

I thought a lot of things about that article were weird.  How do you know if a cat from a shelter knows how to hunt?  The movements are innate, but the skills need to be learned by a teacher, usually the mother cat, although I've had two hunters teach kittens we've adopted.

The doorman hired an exterminator to come out once a week as well as obtaining the cats.  Deceased rodents inside the walls imply the exterminator is using poisons rather than traps.  Rat poison could harm a cat that came into direct or indirect contact with the poison.  Deceased rodents in the walls are causing a secondary problem with excessive insect populations.  It just seems like either cats that are effective rat hunters alone, or combined with traps would be better all around than using poisons, especially if cats are used as well.

How long does it take to see if the rodent population is going down, staying about the same or going up?  Has the doorman checked to see if there are holes or other ways for new rats to get in from outside the building?  He probably can't block all of them, but every entry that is denied new rodents means less new rodents getting in the building.  Fewer new rodents combined with effectively eliminating existing rodents means population getting lower over time.  Any potential food sources that can be denied to rats means fewer will want to be in that particular territory.  Doesn't matter how as long as food is either unavailable or too dangerous to get at.

I would lay money that the complainers want a rent reduction, or at least not as large an increase.  As far as cats roaming the halls.  It would only really be an issue if someone living in the building has cat allergies.  Seems that would be a better angle to take if you're wanting to be a hard-ass about negotiations.

CAT-LIKE TYPING DETECTED: HAPPY CATURDAY, EVERYFUZZY..!!!

Firstly, let me say, we finally have our  sherpa back..

*massive snip*

It's always nice to have a Sherpa, ain't it? ☺

As for Orange... holy fark, I'd have lost my mind if I were in your shoes. Probably would have robbed a gas station or ten, dropped cat and money off at the vet then turned myself in to the cops "sorry, blew it all on drugs. Yup" because DAMN.

As long as he's stable, I'd just keep him in the house no matter how much of a PITA he is about it until you *can* get him to the vet - or for a week or two as a precaution. DEFINITELY talk to the cat lady mail carrier and see if she has any ideas or knows of a kind hearted vet that will take payments from you in case he goes downhill again and needs to be seen right away. There's just so much that can be going on there and cats are very, very good at disguising pain and injuries. It's a survival thing. Then again, he may be just fine, but me being me, I'd have him at the vet as soon as I could anyway.

OK, I'm totally the wrong person to ask about this kind of thing. Not only was my schooling well over 20 years ago so I have forgotten damn near everything, but I am hypersensitive to critter injury. How I managed to stay calm when I actually had to treat injured animals, I do not know.

I know Orange has short hairs, but still give him a really good once over and check for puncture wounds. Rub his furs backwards and go over him inch by inch, even if you take a couple of puncture wounds yourself. He could have been bitten (like Gogh Beastie was) and you just can't see it through his fur. A nasty bite in the right area can make him act like his back is broken. Because I couldn't see Gogh Beastie's bite wound - it was just a very neat pair of punctures - I would have sworn his leg was broken. Critter bites are painful and the swelling around it can take a while to go down. Also, you know when you hurt yourself how it always feels even WORSE the next day or two than it did when you first got hurt? That may be why he acted like he was dying to death or had a broken spine or something. The receptionist at my vet told me her cat got bit by a skwerl (hehe!) and couldn't or wouldn't use the injured leg for over two weeks. Just get him in as soon as you can swing it and hope for the best in the meantime.

Geez. Totally got fingers, toes and paws crossed over here, as species-appropriate. Get better NOW, Orange! You hear me?!?

Cats do sometimes listen to me, you know.

YAY!!! Earl heard the crying Bub and started GLARING much harder than usual in my general direction. Gogh Beastie is indifferent to the cries of other cats getting baths (and is still only a tiny bit interested/unafraid of Earl). Too cute video!

Yes,  Yes it is..  =)

As for Orange... holy fark, I'd have lost my mind if I were in your shoes. Probably would have robbed a gas station or ten, dropped cat and money off at the vet then turned myself in to the cops "sorry, blew it all on drugs. Yup" because DAMN.

Oh, my mind was lost from the moment of the sudden downturn..  Until then, I was trusting my care and his hardiness to make short work of any issue..  I'm really not sure what going on, here..

However, I put Orange up on the bed a bit, near the window..gave him a catnip leaf which he rolled in and then ate..and then he just, unexpectedly, suddenly jumped the two feet from my bed to my lap..perfect landing..  Bugger's still there, as I type..  *grin*

Gunna do my best at all'a that..hopefully only good and productive will come from it..  =D

I have an educational background in Marine Biology..technically qualify fer the term "Scientist"..  Have had 3 decades experience with Canines, Felines, Reptiles and Amphibians,  Avian and Piscine..including homing, treatment (shots fer baby tortoises..what fun..!  Not.), et all..  And this situation..?  I have nothing in my history that could explain this..

I know Orange has short hairs, but still give him a really good once over and check for puncture wounds. Rub his furs backwards and go over him inch by inch, even if you take a couple of puncture wounds yourself. Done what I could with that..no swelling at all..no apparent pain..  L'il concern about that, atm..  Orange no seems to be afeard..  He's curled up on my lap like there's not a thing in all creation to worry over..

Updates will follow..  He be healthy (as seems he can be), stable, and has put both my damn legs t'sleep while lying on them ..  And purring..  Gott'a figger out this 'legs' bit..cuz I no know which way things are heading..

John Buck 41: tigerose: Last few days of summer vacay here...caught a baybee Pike today. My Dad got him in the net, then we dscovered that the net had been pulled thru the poor critters nostril..we wound up cutting the net to get him free..I think the treble hook caught him high in the mouth/ nose, then got the net..makes your nose hurt doesn't it? We through him back. Too small. :(

Pike are a problem here in Maine. A bunch of assholes introduced them in many lakes. They aren't native and eat trout and salmon babies. There is NO limit and anglers are urged to kill every pike they catch.

LL Bean has a MARVELOUS fish-n-game cookbook.
There were some recipes for pike in there in the Freshwater Fish section.
I've made their Ciopino (fish and shellfish stew) and it is really quite good.

Oh...Amazon says they'll support a charity of your choice...and Little Mews Rescue is on their list of eligible charities!

D'Artagnan went walkabout for 3 days last week. Thought I might have to put a LOST/STUCK ad in the paper, but he came sauntering in at 2A Tuesday morning. He was in no distress- wanted his chicken, thank you, but he wasn't STARVING. Ate his dinner, then returned to his catly concerns.
"How nice to see you, D'Artagnan. Thanks for checking in...come back when you can stay longer!"

According to Neighbor Across The Street, he's got quite a large range that he patrols...she's heard from friends of hers who are in his territory- i.e., they see him frequently.
Think I'm going to get a collar and name tag for him. Oh, he'll ditch it...but if he's seen with a collar (even temporarily) then he won't be considered a stray, feral, or lost.
He looks too good to be feral or stray...not just healthy, but his coat is soft and glossy (due probably to the olive oil he gets on his chicken). It proclaims "This cat has a home and is well cared-for".
He also has an outgoing, friendly, and sociable personality when he wants.
I just want to make it clear he has a HOME as well.

I wonder how many 'arrangements' he has with various people...as in "I'll come by and visit with you for a bit, and you feed me".
He's very lean, so he looks like he hasn't eaten in a week...but he's a bit over 12 lbs of solid muscle.

That was me at the drive through bank teller yesterday! She commented on how well I was staying cool. I glanced in the rearview mirror and saw my hair was waving in the wind of my ac as I drove away and figured out how she knew! Lordy, still having blond moments at my age. White hair isn't as noticeable on a blond. ;D
Yes, I did have all of the vents aimed at me! I don't like 95 degrees.

Made my Credit Union happy earlier this week...went through the drive-through after shopping at Costco.
Teller admired the flat of nectarines sitting in passenger seat...so what does Captain Impulsive Behavior do but start passing fruit through the drawer (after ascertaining how many people were on duty right then).
Win/win situation...tellers all happy, and those nectarines were REALLY ripe.
I couldn't have eaten the whole flat by meself before they started going off.

Hahaha! Even my dinner has been raising hell today! I freaked out some guy at the grocery store when I was buying the roast to make my dinner (which I cut into steaks - I was saving money), freaked out Hisss! when I went out to her corner where she actually lives to grab some fresh rosemary for my dinner and touched one of her babbies and I just now freaked out Pearl the Grey when I was doing the final sear and set off the dinner bell/smoke alarm. I've heard my whole life how "everyone has a special gift". Well, mine seems to be freaking out other living creatures with little or no effort. I am strangely proud of that. MUAHAHAHA!

Also, my dinner was pretty darn good, so there's that, too.

Happy Caturday Everyone!

The teenager and I just got back from doing an extra volunteer shift at the shelter since they were getting backed up on laundry. In two days there must have been a run on cat adoptions, because there were only three cats the we remembered from two days ago. This is great, many were older. There are two large litters of kittens now - one room had 5 kittens, the other room six. Plus a number of other cats of varying ages. It was "good" to see a fresh crop (not good that they were there, but good that the older residents were gone. I am very glad that Arnie found himself a new home. His family abandoned him at 8 years of age because they were moving. One really horrible thing to do to a loving family cat. If we didn't have two already I would have gotten him myself.

Oh, a funny one I heard last night, I am a fan of BBC quiz and comedy shows. On a "News Quiz" story Andy Hamilton (one of my favorite comedians) was reading a newspaper clip. Apparently in anticipation of a new kitten being adopted, a "cat door" was installed so it could go outside when it wanted. The door opened up by a magnet attached to a collar.  The idea was immediatly given up when the kitten became attached to the fridge and could not break free.

I like the design and the idea to add whiskers.
Can you do kiddo sizes too?
Also how do you want us to order them and get funds to you?
Can we also sponsors folks we think need a shirt (because you guys keep me sane) but might not be able to justify the luxury?

Ugh my phone has no cat pictures. I will have to fix that once I find the wee beastie. He has gone to ground cause we are having a heat wave.

The last time I talked to Sherpa, he said after he left Yobbery's, he was planning on driving straight through to your place....with maybe a truck stop rest in between.  That's all that I know......and be careful with lifting stuff, okay?  I ended up in the hospital a few years ago after having "female" surgery and doing too much afterwards.  Had a severe bleeding incident.  Sorry....tmi.  Just sayin'........ :D

That's what we heard too. Should be here sometime tonight but haven't received confirmation yet. He was supposed to call us when he left Yobbery's . Since he got there so late last night, maybe he decided to stay one more day.

As far as the lifting and doing too much goes...I got a lecture from my sister too. She had surgery after the surgery because she did too much too. CDK is doing his best to keep me in line ;-)

What's worse than a tarantula that's loose in your neighborhood? A pregnant tarantula that's loose in your neighborhood  now #11 on today's main pg w 69 comments.  Copied this outta tale subby brought, failed to get headline:-- reminds overly of Death by Meteor & Miss B -
A hairy Mexican red rump tarantula named Penelope is on the loose in Park Slope, and her owner is frantically trying to find her before she pops out her tiny, creepy spawn.
"I know she looks crazy scary but she's mostly harmless," the owner says on a missing-pet sign, which includes a photo, posted in South Slope.
"She's pregnant, so I'm hoping to find her before she has her babies. She's mostly active at night and she tends to hide in dark corners," it notes.
"She shouldn't bite but sometimes she jumps," it adds. snip>8

Now at TempThreadsEnd, ft of  Lucky pg7.  Lucky for one, cuz  professional_vampire brought new Caturday T design!  Far better  than Cafe Press's feeble attempt methinx mefetched last wk.  Copied $20 all in, also whiskers suggestion which I votie In Enthusiastic Favour Of.  Medium for me pls, XL for Plumbicon.  Reckon PayPal'll do for payment, simpler than any other way -- or one may privately request p_v's USMule adrs.
One more before I do rest of late rounds & feed all but Ginger, who's been checked, medded & fed. I need not go with Pl to clean up & prep for tomorrow's rental; there was a family gather costume do this eve that his primary minion Regan worked.  R was to take fotos to share.

a funny one as I was waiting in the (much cooler) lobby in the shelter for the laundry to cycle.
There was a mother with her (12?) year old daughter looking for a dog. The girl was stating her requirements, and she did not want a male because even when their (she did say this) "balls were cut off" they were still not as docile as females. I winked at the mother and protected my nether region with my hands. The girl kept on going about the evils of male dogs. when she turned around and saw me "protecting an area" her eyes went wide, I stood up and asked the receptionist to open the secure door and went "ouch, ouch, ouch". The receptionist and mother went into hysterics, and I heard the comment from the mother right before I went in "you have the right attitude for marriage". (I am sure it was for my benefit) It was her turn to see me laughing. I was told later they did adopt a female dog.

Fotos of both kittehs & goggies watching for sherpa18 on pg8! So perfect & purrfect!!
Time for me to sign for today; Jimmy behaved himself & agreed to come up from finnished (sic) basement where Ginger eats & overnights due to his diabetes. Mostly to keep him out of others' chow.
Was several-pg article on feline diabetes in Aug issue of CatWatch  which came today. Copied issue for chorusmate who's owned by 7-8 & our veterinarian, who was in chorus for a while. But then she bought the practise & hasn't really time to sing any more. Our vet's owned by 5, she moved to condo right next door to clinic bldg 1.5 yrs ago.                          ....
See ya in daylit daylight once more, wish sherpa18 safe drive to the CDKs. Room to type Hyvaa  Ilta!

Well, I fed all the kittehs and hoomins and cleaned the kitchen so now I'm exhausted. I've been giving Hisss! and her babbies gooshy fuds. The babbies still don't come anywhere near me, but because I take a whole (5 oz) can for the five of 'em and spread it across a big, white plate so they can all get to it, Hisss! gets super excited when she sees the plate. The babbies run under the propane grill and she runs TOWARD me. She doesn't even call her babbies, she just starts chowing it down. They come back after I go back in the house and eat their gooshy fuds, too and are sooooo cute in a little circle around the plate! I've got to clean the glass in that door extra well tomorrow and try and get a pic!

Been lurking for a few weeks. Glad to see Sherpa is finally on his way. Vudutek, great to see you, hope you feel better and that the rest of chemo goes quickly.

Need kitty advice. Josephine was laying in the litter box a few weeks ago so we took her to the Vet. She didn't have an intestinal blockage, just lots of hair in her stomach & "matter" in her colon. Vet gave us a laxative to give her twice a day. She's done real well, poop-wise. I've been brushing her -- she's a short hair, but it's so fine and soft, easy to see how it gets all tangled up inside. Went back this morning for a follow-up X-Ray. Not as much hair as before, but still a little backed up. Vet talked to me about the need to get this under control because it can lead to Megacolon. He recommended adding Prozyme to their dry food. I feed them a Blue Buffalo Food, which they really like and he was ok with that food. Neither cat likes wet food, and they drink a lot of water. Anyone have any experience with Prozyme? They weren't too thrilled with a powder being sprinkled on their food, but they'll adapt.

A pic of the patient, in her favorite spot:

Hai everbuddy!

Apologies to all for not calling/checking in earlier - I could not get to sleep last night trying to wind down from the drive, and then woke up later than planned with a sore back, arms, shoulders and neck from wrestling my vehicle for over nine hours. (For those of you who don't know all the details, I am driving a 17' truck - fully packed, I ended up taking furniture items I intended to discard - and dragging an auto transport trailer with my car on it behind).

This truck is a beast and I was hesitant to get back on the road in a sub-par condition - plus I had hoped to meet up with QJ at some point, but what with his doctor's appointment I would have ended up trying to drive straight through and that was not going to happen.

yobbery suggested I stay another day and feel better and try to relax before moving on, and after much BS'ing back and forth, I realized it was probably the right thing to do. I feel much better now, and will be able to move on tomorrow morning confident that I can handle the next part of my trip.

Thanks to all for caring about me, I and will try harder to keep up!

PS - I just wanna give a huge shout out to yobbery and his lovely wife AllMyKidsHaveFur - they are wonderful, welcoming and generous hosts, and have taken good care of your resident wandering sherpa, making me welcome in their home  :o)

However, whether or not they actually have any cats was in question for awhile. Stay tuned.....

yobbery suggested I stay another day and feel better and try to relax before moving on, and after much BS'ing back and forth, I realized it was probably the right thing to do.

Moving is soooo much fun....  btdt, but a very short distance....  and wrestling a truck will work on you for sure...... and a good move resting up first...  my critters disappear when someone knocks on the door..... they will come out after a while... glad all is going well.

sherpa18: Hai everbuddy!

Glad to see you check in. Take care of yourself, friend.

professional_vampire: I mentioned last week about making and selling a Caturday t-shirt if anyone is interested. I spoke to Sherpa who suggested using the Caturday tag as a design. Here is the design - let me know if you are interested and/or want one.  If you don't like the design, feel free to suggest what you would like.  Thanks!

It looks great! Here is the other design we talked about (I actually found it!):

And another option, just for shiats and giggles since I have missed participating in Caturday for so long...

Whatever design you end up with, I will buy one when I can afford it.

Dude was truly in no shape to drive that beast for 10 hours. He's fed, watered and hopefully had a good rest for the road tomorrow. We had a nice day just hanging around and chatting....no stress.

You are a good friend looking out for our favorite irreplaceable Sherpa! It is not worth the risk driving when you are exhausted. We need our friend in one piece!

I definitely see a difference this evening. My wife even noticed. Cats too I think since they have finally made their presence known.

As of this evening...
Wolf: "I like this guy. I think I'll poke him in the face at 3:00am"
Mia: "I'll come within ten feet as long as you keep tossing treats at me"
Biscuit: "I'm scared Daddy"
Nathan: "Kill it with fire. Until then I'll be behind the washer"

We went out for a great Chinese dinner and then took in the Pittsburgh skyline.

*followup to my previous post*

Meanwhile, I really was looking forward to being able to pet a cat again during my visit - however, up until a little while ago, I was feeling seriously unloved and was developing a complex. The one and only Biscuit wants nothing to do with me (although I did get a few blurry pics of him from a distance).

Mia keeps her distance, but I got a couple of pics of her as well. Wolf is the only one I have managed to actually touch, and it felt so good even after he basically flipped me off (ask yobbery if you don't believe me, the damn cat really did flip me off in no uncertain terms).

And as far as I'm concerned, Nate is a figment of their imagination, I'm convinced he does not exist  :o)

It's way too late for me to try and upload the pics I did get, I gotta go get some sleep and try and be ready to hit the road bright and early. I hope to be back soon with further updates (and pics).

The longer you stay, the more the cats will love ya. That might be their plan ;)

I like..

Tryin' to think of a diff presentation..like big CD logo on back, small left-breast *something* on front..but, dunno..  I just like the simplicity of what's pictured there..

Any way you (someone) can think of t'werk in a small "FARK.com" logo with that..?  Assuming Drew doesn't mind..?  Iff'n we're gunna wear the things out in the wild, may as well advertise and mebbe increase our clowder..  =D

..and now, off to catch up on the thread..will bbp (be back posting) a bit laters..!

laulaja: Fotos of both kittehs & goggies watching for sherpa18 on pg8!
Room to type Hyvaa  Ilta![i.imgur.com image 500x421]No longer recall who fetched this, is in my imgur gallery where ID info saves not. Kinda think our voyaging sherpa18 may be most logical suspect.

Those are my kitties in the chicken house in Alabama! That is Flower, Jerry and Tom.
