What video?

Video removed.

But, I'm guessing it's a lame automatic. I'd be slightly more impressed if it was a manual. Still imagine it's a rather silly thing to do anyway.

Pff, driving a single-clutch 5 speed from the passenger side is lame.  Try driving a double clutch 18 speed from the passenger side.

The video is gone, so did the car have left or right side controls?  We've all seen mailmen and many other cars with right side controls, but I did see a newspaper driver deliver from the right side while driving a left side controlled car.  It didn't look particularly safe.

I used to live in a rural neighborhood. The mail carriers and newspaper deliverers all drove their own vehicles for the most part. To avoid driving against traffic, they'd either situate themselves in the middle of the vehicle or they'd learn to drive from the passenger side. Just like this guy's car, their cars were not modified at all.

I owned a right-side-drive car in Okinawa for 6 months when I was stationed there. What was funny was the base CG would give speeches to Marines who just got to Okinawa... they were always related to some bit of news, like "Don't get involved in black market schemes" when a Gunny got caught trading bags of Commissary rice for sex. Well, two weeks after I got my car, one of the newbies came out of their talk with the CG who was ranting about driver's safety and the importance of understanding what lanes to drive in, etc.. etc... so of course, we asked around about why he was so hot and bothered about it. Turns out the General pulled out of Camp Kinser heading north, but he pulled into the right side of traffic. It's an 8 lane road, with a divider curb running down the middle. Because of the parking situation, there wasn't any easy place for him to pull out of the way, so he had to drive to the next intersection before correcting his driving.

I never had that problem... but because I hadn't been driving for a while, and as a result of having the rifle range about three weeks after getting my car, I was traveling to Camp Hansen, not paying enough attention when I saw a red light and said to my passenger "I better stop for that light" to which he responded, "why bother, you didn't stop for the last 6 red lights we passed through".

This. My grandfather was a mail carrier in rural Illinois, drove his Grand Marquis from the passenger side. Ain't nothin new. Granted, it was a bench seat with no center console in the way.

I've been living in NYC since 1983.  Kips Bay, Astoria, Inwood, Turtle Bay, Bay Ridge, Park Slope, West Village, Central Park West, Lincoln Square, and now Carroll Gardens.  31 years I've lived all over town.  Never met anyone who talks like this douchebag.  Hope I never do.
