(The New York Times)   45 summers after Woodstock, the 1969 concert's promoter has set up another three-day festival - but this time it's $1700 for a 'glamping' experience with a queen bed, Keurigs and a concierge. Rock on, snowflakes   (mobile.nytimes.com) divider line 18

Not real jazzed about the lineup either.

FTA: He said the organizers were on track to sell out the 20,000 capacity,

That's not much of a crowd for an outdoor festival.

I'm guessing it's mostly electronic acts because they're probably less expensive and logistically easier to deal with.

I'll put this one my not interested list.

I'd like to see the Flaming Lips (again) and Modest Mouse (for the first time). Other than that meh.

FWIW, I have two wrist bands for weekend one of ACL if anyone is interested.

So much for getting back to the garden. Vote Soylent Green in '16. It's chewy, but it's all the pension you're getting.

I wonder how this will play with Grey Fox Bluegrass and the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival in the area one week and three weeks later.

I recognize it's different musical genres and different audiences.

In 1994 when the 1st Woodstock anniversary concert was announced my friend's father remarked, "What is wrong with your generation? You have to have a Woodstock 2 come up with something original"

/We pointed out he was going with us to Lollapooloza in Atlanta but he decided that was a tour not a music festival so it was different.

You know, music can be enjoyed without experiencing 5,000 unwashed, LSD-dropping hippies dancing in a cesspool of mud, sweat and urine while your "security" stabs a man to death on stage.
/yes, I have melded a couple of concerts into one

Then slap the logo on everything and have those sell-out hippies buy it up to relive it decades after they realized peace and love isn't as fun as money.

To be fair, not all Gen Xers are penniless.  Some of them are happy to be in the corporate sector, whether it's marketing or banking or media.  Happy for them.
